  1. He is a hoss!! I'm so glad we have him. He is a pleasure to watch on the field, but more of a pleasure to know. Good luck to him, the "triple threat" and the rest of the 'Stangs! Take it all the way!!
  2. Congrats Lumberton!! I taught there a few years back and we won one game all year, to Cleveland, 13-12. I was on the sidelines of the WO-S game Friday night and we all cheered when we heard the Lumberton score. Good luck in the weeks to come!!
  3. Tam2121, I agree. If it was another school in this area, people would vote it in in a heartbeat. That jumbotron was purchased by donations from businesses that many of us support, yet they wouldn't want their names on our field. I just don't understand it. So many kids have been saved from dropping out, etc from our athletic program. I know that I've helped two graduate that wouldn't have if it hadn't been for Mustang athletics and coaches who cared. Hopefully we will find a way to give them back what they deserve.
  4. Just for the record...their starters, including Cody Green were there for the WO-S game, except the one who was ejected right before the half. ;D
  5. Evangel in Shreveport lost tonight with 16 seconds left to Calvary, their crosstown rivals, for the district champs, 28-21. If you are a big football fan, you know the tradition Evangel has. They've beat Texas High several times and are a private school. They were also state champs in their 2A class last year. Way to go, CAVS!!!
  6. Look for an article in the Orange Leader either Friday or Sunday about him.
  7. He will start weekend against Trinity Valley in Athens. He would love to see poeple there to cheer him on.
  8. The Stangs did a great job in finishing the game. Hats off to LC-M for giving us a good one and making us play 48 minutes! I never thought I would say this but good luck this year and I do hope you bring home the 22-4A district championship.
  9. The defensive touchdown that lcm scored was on our third string. The ball was stripped and they ran it in. Give 'em credit. They kept trying and didn't give up. The 9th grade team is really good. Some great athletes coming up that play hard the entire time. The JV looked pretty good tonight, too. We had a couple of players back who were out last week with injuries.
  10. Doesn't really matter which one is thunder and which one is lightening or whether they strike together or separately. They are both deadly.
  11. Can anyone tell us about the new girls basketball coaches for WO-S?
  12. Good luck to you, Donovan!! I will be the one on the track with my Mustang shirt on hollering for you!! Represent us well in the hurdles like you did at Regionals!!
  13. They were sure whipped when they got to prom, but you couldn't wipe the smiles off of their faces. I'm so proud of all of you, but especially the girls. They got their hair done before the meet and went out and competed like I knew they could. They may not have won the 'Prom Queen' title, but they will always be the 'Prom Queens' in my book!! And you guys...I can't wait for May 11-12!!
  14. I can't remember all of the specifics, but I believe that Hamshire-Fannett girls got first and the West Brook boys got first. The WO-S 4x1 and 4x2 relay teams won big, but came in 5th in the mile relay. WO-S' Franks got first in triple jump and third in long jump (or vice versa.) WO-S' Vanquanisha Jordan got first in long jump and third in triple (or vice versa.) WO-S' Adrian Mims took first in the shot put. LC-M's Bean got first in the 800m, a race I heard he doesn't normally run. That's kind of a run down of what went on. It should be in the Orange Leader tomorrow.
  15. I was at the game and we just didn't take care of business like we should have. Talk about classless, though. The Splendora fans were throwing candy and things down at our cheerleaders the whole game. I asked them to stop several times, before the police officer had to get involved. You must not be used to the play-off scenario, much. CLASSLESS, TRULY CLASSLESS!!
  16. DPG from WO-S, without a doubt-That translates DePauldrick Garrett. He shared duties with Earl Thomas on a balanced run/pass team and still had outstanding numbers. He has balance like I've never seen and can stay up when his body is almost parallel to the ground.
  17. KV's #32 was awesome. I am usually not impressed with opposing teams, just because I am a Mustang through and through and I don't think anyone compares to our players...but WOW! She was really good.
  18. If the Mustangs play all four quarters like they played the last two at PN-G, no one around can compete. They were definitely on fire. Not only were their shots on, but the hustle was like I haven't seen in a while.
  19. exbccards76smom, Thanks for the support. I hope that all the area fans that come wear their own shirts to show the pride that they have in their own school, but also that they can come together and support a local play-off team. I remember one of my kids counting something like 16 different shirts at one of the 2000 games.
  20. WO-S JV is pretty tough. Even with the starting RB moved to varsity, I think we can win.
  21. Happy Birthday, COOP. The Mustangs have a BIG gift for you tonight, I guess about 10 pm or so, it will be revealed. Just look at the board.
  22. Gotta be DePauldrick Garrett. What about best sophomores? I saw two at the Jasper game that scare me for the future.
