1. After all the crap HD talked I'd say the Kountze fans deserve to talk some back
2. Good win Tarkington, Hardin did look a little better but still a ton of work to do.
3. Nice butt kickin Kountze!! This could delay HD's acceptance into the SEC.
4. As much as I hate to say this, I see Tarkington winning. I'm hoping Hardin uses the motivation of losing to an average HD team as a reason to work hard this week and improve.
5. When I say speed I'm comparing it to what Hardin will see the rest of the year. Newton will have linemen faster than Hardin and HD's skilled guys. I'm hearing kountze has great team speed this year, they're doing something right by beating a decent 3A school last night. I don't consider one kid on each side with average speed gives anyone the right to say they have speed. I'm not dogging on HD or Hardin, I'm just being a realist.
6. What I saw last night was two teams with zero speed. Both offenses were very predictable, HD just had the size to pull theirs off. Hardin tried to spread it out but doesn't have the QB or receivers to do it. HD ran a 1975, pile everybody up in the middle and smash it, I was waiting for them to set up in the wishbone. This won't work against the championship teams of today. Now, I do except that HD didn't need to try anything else and probably have more than they showed. As for Hardin, seeing that Kountze and Warren both had big wins last night, we better improve very quickly.
7. What I meant was an EC, Newton, or of course kirbyville would have scored probably every time they touched the ball. HD shouldn't take more than pride away from this game so far. #25 is an athlete for sure
8. First half thoughts, HD is decent and should compete in their weak district. Up 23-6 at half, right now an actual quality team would be beating Hardin 42-0. Now for Hardin, I guess the nicest way to put it is not looking good and gonna be a long, long year.
9. I hope I'm wrong, but we will have hell against the quality teams of our district. HD has improved this year
10. You know you're right, after reading your post its inspired me to move over to HD, so today I plan to put on a pair of white rubber boots and pull all but one of my teeth and head on over
11. I haven't seen either team this year, but with HD competing with Katy for the 5A state championship this year and a possible move to the SEC next year, Hardin may have their hands full. Now, in the real world, Hardin is down and rebuilding right now but will have to be way down to loose to HD. Hopefully its a good game on both sides and close.
12. In comparing Liberty to HD you have to consider the difference and level of numbers and competition between 1A and 3A. As you go up in divisions the level of competition increases drastically. There will generally always be one team at a higher level that couldn't compete with anybody, but overall theres no comparison. I was on a pretty good Hardin team that moved from 2A to 3A, we scheduled our former 2A foes for non-district games that year and swept them, but at 3A we were no match only beating East Chambers barely, 14-8. I remember being amazed at how many more kids the other teams had, how they had seperate kickoff and kickoff return teams, we all went both ways. Personally, I think it would be ugly for HD, they don't want any of Liberty. But also, it would be ugly for Liberty to play Dayton. Sometimes pride and the past clouds logical thinking.
13. Good kid with a lot of talent, but if Alabama beats Florida this weekend,  the national championship goes thru tuscaloosa!!
14. I'm not saying Hardin wins, but don't judge the varsity by the JV's performance tonight. The JV is mostly Freshmen, and don't get me wrong they give 100% in practice but just aren't gonna compete with the average true JV squad. Liberty still has the advantage tomorrow night though in my opinion, they're bringing a bunch of kids back off a playoff team last year, a team that at the beginning of the season most thought wouldn't win a game
15. Hardin will be on the road, will be outnumbered and outsized, and have a lot of shoes to fill from the team that spanked Liberty last year. Hopefully Haynes can pull one off here, shouldn't be a cake walk for Liberty though.
16.

I didn't see "blown coverages", I seen a stupid defensive package against a throwing team! Manned up on the outside with no safety, which is easy to go down field on and across the middle. Hardin's coaches just took what they were given
Easy killer... I was referring to the first Hardin TD pass, right after HD fumbled the opening snap. If you recall the Hardin WR ran down the middle wide open with no one guarding him. Coach Slack yelled at Drake, saying what where you doing, that was your man. Hardin 6-0. H-D gave Hardin the game with mistakes. H-D was dominating on the offensive line and when the 80 yard TD gallop was called back it crushed H-D's momentum. Refs did not help either. Clipping on an 80 yard TD run by Marberry and a phantom strip of the ball on the 1 inch line, when the RB was on a knee. Hardin won and had a great passing attack. Congrats. Also Hardin was running 4 wr sets all game, H-D was playing man to man, most of the time your not gonna have a safety playing center field with those sets. Not in small school football.
Does HD ever just "lose" a game to a better team, it seems like they give them all away? Also, Hardin, running 4 WR sets, really, are you sure? They've only done that for the last 100 years, well for sure the last 4 that Haynes has been here. I hate that came as such a big surprise to yall, its not like we've played each other that much.....
17.
bushpilot why are you suprise you know haynes will have his team prepared!!!
We just looked very young and small on both lines, but I did say "pleasantly" surprised
18. Also, before so many other haters chime in, I realize we beat a small 1A school in a scrimmage, which will probably have no reflection as to what our year could be like, we are in a heck of a district and are probably gonna struggle through it. But we did beat a long standing rival and it feels real good right now
19. I've watched Hardin practice, I will say I'm pleasantly surprised at what I'm reading here. At this point in the scrimmage Hardin probably didnt  have any starters in, HD was able to score then. Looks like a real long year for HD, and we already know HD55, Yall won state in '79
20. Big kid at the gym in Liberty is John Stelly, starting fullback at I believe Eastern Oklahoma State, also Mitch Villemez, outside linebacker at Blinn, had a nice 95 yard interception return for a TD last week in their scrimmage. Stelly was on the Miami Dolphins watch list last year on their web site.
21. Went to a couple Hardin practices, they are small and very young. The only way I could tell the difference in JV and varsity was the colors of their jerseys, then I still had to look at faces to determine which was which. Could be a long year, but I assure you they'll give it all they got, especially against HD. Always has been a good rivalry.
22. There is an article in the Beaumont Enterprise right now with Long saying he is leaving and he is recommending Haynes to take his place
