1.
And I think anyone who has seen my posts knows that I would frown upon anyone from Vidor doing that type of thing and would welcome the flag along with the punishment the player would assuredly receive from the coaches.
My point is that monitoring celebrations is something that the coaches should handle. Who is it really hurting for people to get excited and celebrate before, during, OR after a play? If the idiot is stupid enough to screw up a play by celebrating before the play is over, that hurts them and their team - why penalize them further? My problem with the entire paradigm concerning excessive celebration is the level of subjectivity. There is no way to draw a bright line and when you try you end up with the inevitable overbearing game changing results as in this one. Why in the heck do you care if a kid holds up a fist or a finger or cuts a flip as he careens into the end zone? Who is it really hurting? Explain what this has to do with intelligence.
 2. I don't care where it happens or on what level. I think the monitoring of celebrations in exciting competitive events is retarded. I don't care if they take their helmet off or do a hula dance. I honestly don't care if they taunt. If you get your feelings hurt over some trash talk, then get out of the game. Sure - strong programs leave the silly crap for the loud mouths. But I think that is up to the coach, not the officials and it has gotten way out of hand. If a celebration actually delays the game or causes injury, then there are penalties for that. Excessive celebration as a penalty is stupid on face.
 3. so what's the deal here? is this a concerted effort to up the post count on the thread while trying to make it look like there are meaningful points being made? WO-S 24 ColdSpring 13
 4.
What was the final?
45 - 13
 5.
These threads have a little more punch when the team is one and done.
they also pack a little more when they come from someone who has something to talk about ;)
 6. ' "The information that was presented to us raised significant concern as to whether some of the players were even present or involved with this alleged altercation," Wayne school board president Donald Pavlak Jr. told the Star-Ledger. "We heard from two independent witnesses and we saw some evidence. It made it very difficult for us to maintain the superintendent's decision at the time." ' This is your answer. Hopefully the boom will drop on those actually responsible, but until you determine who that really is, you can't take ultimate actions. To destroy the season and life of someone that is completely innocent would just make it worse.
 7. Well, I finally got to watch the boys in person this year. Impressive performance. Seems like the Stangs are getting it all together at the right time. Score could and should have been way worse. Salter really seems to be getting comfortable throwing the ball and made some good decisions running the ball as well. Rutledge has a very bright future. Lindsey was a joy to watch - we willl miss this young stud. Seems like we are going to really miss Renfro if he doesn't come back and we face a genuine passing team, but the defense really got after them and my hat is certainly off to these young men for maintaining their composure. I have zero respect for Columbus. They had a couple of players that were clearly trying to start stuff on the field by the 2nd quarter and it was completely out of control in the second half. I blame the terrible officiating. This crew never exerted control and was obviously willing to let far too much slide - it is a miracle that there wasn't a battle royale on the field by the end of the game. Columbus played one of the dirtiest games I think I have ever seen. Virtually every single play of the second half involved an extra shove, punch, or some little cheap shot, many well after the play was obviously over. Too bad we were kneeling it out at the end. If anyone ever deserved to have their noses rubbed in it, it was this pathetic team. I am just glad that no one got hurt.
 8.

It is a pretty strong statement to say that one play won a game.  But for sure that play did turn the game around.  I think Jasper was up 9-0 at the time?  Momentum changed for sure.
It is accurate to say that play was the difference because we won by six points.  When you look at the entire game, Jasper outplayed WO-S in the first quarter (lead 9-0), WO-S was sharper in the second and third quarters (went ahead 21-9), then Jasper made a run in the final quarter (21-15 final score).  It was a hard fought game, but WO-S was just a little bit better.  To this day, that is still the best Jasper team WO-S ever faced.  Remember, they whipped us good earlier that season at Mustang Stadium.
If memory serves, Chris Hunt had a lot to do with that.
 9.
Ozen decides to change the school name to "Oz-ain't", after the Cubs eliminate them. or Cinderella team, Ozen is still looking for glass slipper as the clock strikes midnight and their fairy tail of a season comes to an end.
I think "Oz-out" would have made more sense . . .
 10. while we are youtubing it, you guys gotta see this, it is absolutely hysterical! ]
 11. i like these guys doing the radio broadcast. they are very objective for hometown announcers.
 12.
WOS Chain Gang Defense stepped up in the 2nd half, virtually shutting down the Tigers. The 3rd quarter was purely dominant by the Mustang defense. Silsbee only had 6 offensive plays in that quarter, gaining a minus 2 yards. Silsbee had a -16 yards rushing in the second half after gaining 100 yards in the first half. Silsbee did throw for 200 yards for the game, ending with a total of 284 yards of offense. WOS's offense finally decided to go to the run game after their first two offensive possessions were 3 and outs, and it paid off dearly. Mustangs rushed for over 250 yards, exploiting the Tiger's defense in the middle, with Lindsey and Salter having very good games on the ground. Salter did pass for 95 yards and a TD. Silsbee's defense just wore down in the second half. Silsbee's offense relied on the big play tonight and had it not been for 4 big plays, the Tiger offense would have been shut out. Just too much speed on that Mustang D. It should also be noted that penalties killed the Mustangs tonight. Had it not been for some very untimely penalties on WOS, the Mustangs probably win this game by 3-4 TD's. Congrats WOS on a very good game and win. You were clearly the better team. Congrats on your district championship. Silsbee, keep your head up. Got one game left and a win over Hamshire-Fannett will send you guys to the playoffs once again.
Classy post!
 13. BC 4th and 6, their own 39. 4:45 letf in game. BC calls time out to talk about it. 21 - 16 WO-S on top.
 14.

Easy, a lot of the starters on D, including LB Daniel Woodson, LB Joe Lynch, DE Colin Janice, DT Jerquis Beasley and DT Dylan Brackens are all juniors. On offense some of the notable underclassmen are Salter at QB, Jamarcus Rhodes WR, Larry Sonnier WR, Brackens on OL.  That is 10 from a Katy Mustang fan and those closer to the victiny can probably add to this list. Gasilla is no Kerry Cooper.
I know this Grad. Just having a little fun with Gas. I am quite sure he knows. But, didn't WOS have 13 returning from last year?
It's just the WO-S thread police, hot on the case as usual ;)
 15.

Well, he wasn't going to be the OC under Coach Thompson so the writing was on the wall so to speak. BTW, I think you know my sister Kim Rose (married to Darwin Brack).
I just met her this weekend. I disagree that the writing was on the wall. He always intended to leave if he didn't get the head job. Those words from his mouth to my ears. He told me that right after he applied and long before any decision was to be made.
He told me the exact same thing. In fact, we spent, literally, hours on the phone with me trying to talk him out of it, but he had his mind set. He had logical reasons why he didn't want to say that, in the end, were hard to argue with, but the bottom line is he was not staying if he didn't get the job. Period. I love Toby, he is as much Blue and Silver as Coach Thompson and I HATED to see him leave. But he had his reasons and ultimately, you had to respect his decision, but they were made LONG before the head coach decision was made.
I am still holding out hope that he will come back as the OC while Coach T is still at the helm. The sooner the better!
 16.
LOL. Judex and Kicker, stop while your behind. This man is armed with facts and you just make yourself look stupid everytime you try and dispute it. Truth be told, some of you need to totally support the Mustangs by going watch the Little Mustangs football team. You will see this is where these great WO-S players are developed and guess what, they are coached by ex Mustang players who should have be given a chance to coach the High School team. These kids are dominating people and you don't see Thompson or any of the other coaches out there supporting these kids. By the time these high school coaches get these players, they are already developed as players. The credit needs to go to these Little league coaches who develop these players and don't get a pay check.
No support huh? Nice analysis. I guess something unexplainable happened to those ex-Mustangs later on that equipped them to come back and help these young athletes develop. Surely it wasn't because they were themselves a product of the program right? Yeah, I suppose Coach T had zero impact on all those former Mustangs you are referencing. I know some of them come on these boards from time to time. Would love to hear their take on your little tirades, lol. P.S. Agenda identified.
 17. Are you ever going to answer the question of why it is inherently wrong to call out a specific high school kid and embarrass him separately from his teammates as opposed to critiquing and calling out the whole group to do better? Or would that do too much to undercut your entire premise that people here are being hypocritical? Why do you keep dodging?
What players are you talking about? Did Lindsey not play? Why?
Your constant "interest" in the smallest details of anything about WO-S is creepy.
It's very similar to the way Aggies obsess over UT. Coincidence?
 19.
This reminds me of a guy who just got his butt whipped in a bar fight and as his assailant is walkinG away he starts hollering with both eyes closed and blood everywhere "HEY! THAT DIDN'T HURT! YOU AIN'T GOT NUTHIN'!"
"Tis but a scratch!"
 20. lol, we are all still so trigger happy. oh well, nice to see the stangs put it together. hope everyone comes out injury free and kville benefits from it instead of letting it eat em up. it'd be nice to see em come back strong :)
