1.
You can't speak logically to people who have a brain the size of a pea. Some people are just conditioned to be hypocrites. It's what they were taught growing up. We both know you are right with everything you have said. You have clearly given example after example. It can't be disputed.
Well then, why don't you, with your clearly superior intellect, walk us through it: 1) Why is it inherently bad for a coach to publicly critique a specific high school athlete for their play in a particular game? 2) What specifically did Cornell say on the radio that you found offensive? 3) Who did he specifically identify? 4) Who in the past got upset about a similar circumstance and how was the circumstance similar?
 2.

Hondo, you are wrong. You have equated singling out a specific player with criticizing a group of players. They are not the same thing. It is not hypocrisy if there is a substantial qualitative difference in the comparison. Give it up. P.S. It is not a question of us worshiping Coach T. Some of us are just painfully aware of his importance to the program. Some of us want Toby to come back for the same reasons. There is something more than just rhetoric to the phrase "Mustang Football." If Coach T leaves without a worthy homegrown replacement, that program will die. The best thing that could have happened would have been for Toby to stay as OC til he could take the reigns from Coach T. Hopefully he will come back so that the legacy can live on.
please, Mr. JUDEX, and anyone else who wants to say anything, stick to facts and relevance PLEASE!!!!! NOW, whenever you`re trying to determine the validity of an action it never has anything to do with the number of people involved, whether it`s the person comitting the act or the person that the act is comitted to! I`ll make it real simple for you so you can GET the point! EXample 1. The UIL has determined that it is against the rules to play academically ineligible players, players that don`t live in the proper school zone etc... in the early 90`s WO-S had ONE player determined to be academically ineligible and had to forfeit several games and was disqualified for the playoffs, even though they would have been districts champs. that involved one player! Example 2. a few years ago Katy was one or two games away from playing for the state championship, a parent fed the whole team, the UIL determined that was a violation and they were kicked out of the playoffs. here is the point, and it doesn`t matter if it`s an individual, an organization, or what. IF IT`S WRONG TO DO SOMETHING, THEN IT`S WRONG TO DO IT, WHETHER IT`S DONE TO ONE PERSON OR A MILLION PEOPLE. whether you`re talking about how we treat each other in the community (manners, etiquette etc...) or following the rules of some governmental agency. the number of people involved is IRRELEVANT!!!! here`s something i think we all can agree on:for example it would be wrong to put an innocent man to death, because it`s wrong, not because of how many peolple were involved. FOLLOWING YOUR LOGIC, ONE PLAYER vs SEVERAL PLAYERS it would be ok to put one innocent man to death and it would only be wrong if several were put tp death, WHICH IS PATENTLY RIDICULOUS to your point about having a "home grown" coach be integral to the success of wo-s football: Steve Mccarty started that program, he had never coached in the district, neither had Dan Hooks. the community is the key to the success of wo-s football, the parents, along with the kids develop a passion to play football, and to play for wo-s long before they ever reach the seventh grade and they will play for whoever is the coach. as long as there is a high school in orange there will be a successful football program, where the coach is from has nothing to do with how good of a coach he is. Orange texas had a proud history of producing great high school football players who went on to play professional football, long before Dan Hooks & Cornell thompson showed up and it`l continue after they`re gone. LEARN YOUR HISTORY BROTHER, and please stop being willfully ignorant, because it is hypocritical
I know the history at least as well if not better than you. What Steve, Dan, and Cornell started together is what the program has become and there was nothing like it in Orange before. There's a reason that Dan did not lightly pass the torch. If you want to get down to it, Ronnie Anderson was arguably as big a loss to football as he was for the baseball program. You see what has happened to the Mustang Baseball program since his departure. You can shout big words all day and it doesn't make you any more intelligent or right. Embarrassing an individual kid by calling them out specifically is entirely different than calling out the team or a section of the team. Picking on one player is wrong for a reason that ipso facto does not apply to a "group" of players. Perhaps it is your willful ignorance that is the problem. If you want to make this an intellectual pissing contest with me, you better head back to the store for some bigger boots and a wet suit. You are in way over your head.

 4.
. . .  DO YOU REALLY THINK THE SENIORS ON THIS TEAM DON`T THAT THEY ARE SENIORS ?????/  , AND THAT ANYONE WHO PICKS UP A PROGRAM DOESN`T KNOW WHO THEY ARE? IT DOESN`T MATTER THAT HE DIDN`T CALL A SPECIFIC NAME, HE BESMIRCHED ALL OF THE SENIORS BY CALLING THEM OUT. SO MAKE YOUR MINDS UP, YOU CAN`T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS
Hey Hondo, you didn't actually hear the broadcast did you?
 5.
You have to admit, even if you were never a WO Chief or a PNG Indian, when they get that beat going where it's just the drums pounding, it gets you going... It always has for me, that beat is just nasty. When we would play PNG and they would play it half the guys on our sideline would be bouncing to the beat.
I grew up going to Chiefs games, used to get in trouble for beating Cherokee on my desk at school. I loved it when we played PN-G!
 6. Some of the people speculating on motivations and the hierarchy of the Mustang coaching staff clearly are not aware of Coach T's history with this program and the area. The man did not come back to remain D.C. if/when Dan retired. They also are apparently not aware of the impact that Coach T has had on this program. More than a few former players have been heard to say "Hooks might be the head coach, but that is Coach T's team." There was no question who would take the reigns and the idea of it being any other way is frankly absurd. I think Toby has a bright future and I wish he had stayed, but the ONLY way he had a prayer to be Head Coach would have been for Coach T to retire as well. Clearly he didn't want to wait even a fraction of the time that Coach T waited to inherit that mantle. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. We may have some kinks to work out on offense for the games that really count, but the defense seems to be drilling it down and it sounds to me like we are going to be in good shape once we get there. People have been crying about the OCs and predictable play-calling since before we were winning state, all the way through, and after. The song remains the same - and we will get back to winning soon enough. These alarmists need to chill out.
 7.

Cougtalk, you make me laugh. First, Montgomery and Dawson are really good teams. But lets take a look at these first. Dawson 3-0 played Clear Springs 5A who is 0-3, Oak Ridge 5A who is 0-3, and Crosby who is 1-2 Montgomery 3-0 played Spring 5A who is 1-2, Jones 4A who is 0-3, and Crosby who is 1-2 They are good, but not the two best 4A teams in Texas. Actually the AP Poll has them at #12 and #14. Spring your great 5A team is 1-2, losing to Montgomery, Morton Ranch, and barely beating a weak Conroe team. I do think Crosby and Liberty should be higher, but the other comments are not very accurate. 8)
Bud, i'm just saying if you have an 0-2 WOS who lost to nederland/friendswood over a 1-2 team who beat PNG and lost to Dawson/Montgomery... how do you choose the 0-2 team? Also The liberty issue is ridiculous. i'd be ok with central 15 wos out of the poll and liberty at 13/14 that to me would make some sense, if you not impressed with c-town thats fine but wos does NOT deserve to even be discussed as a ranked team no wins = no rank thats pretty simple math.
lol ;)
I have heard your announcer and I was not impressed with him no more than you are with ours.
Hey, I can't even hear your announcer's and have said nothing to put them down. Having worked in radio and done football reports I KNOW how hard it really is. However, Mr. Stelly. is absolutely the best in the business in this area in my book. I have respect for anyone who does it because they HAVE to love the game. For the record, he is not OUR announcer as he broadcasts EVERY school in Orange County.
I wasn't reply to you, but to Judex.  I have listened to Art Lay for over 20 years and like him just fine.  Isn't it enough that WO-S beat up on the Dogs on the field..leave our announcers alone and let us lick our wounds.  LOL
Sorry man. Wasn't trying to be offensive or partisan really. I didn't have a problem with the homerism which is to be expected. It was just really hard to update people at times based on the way the information was coming across. I have never listened to them before, maybe he was just having an off night.
He could've scored if he wanted, huh?
Not sure about that, sounded like he had a guy to beat and wasn't gonna be able to do it so he just went down in bounds.
 10. Under 2 minutes, WO-S time out, 2nd down in Jasper territory. This game is basically over. Good win Stangs! :D

 13. Jasper 1st down in WO-S territory (I would love to tell you what yard line, but these announcers are just too good ;)
 14. Hard count, WO-S jumps offsides, now 4th and 8sih at the 50 yard line.
