  1. HJ will have everyone back on Monday as well and travels to Huntington on Tuesday.  It does not matter how good a team HJ has or does not have they will have their hands full in Huntington on Tuesday.  Wish I could go!!!

I think that game has been moved to Monday at Huntington?

WHAT!!!!!! I hope not that is the only day I can't go.

Just get your priorities in order....lol
  2. Silsbee won't just go undefeated in district.....they may not lose a game all year.

HJ and co. are playing for second and third.

Getting real heavy with this reverse psychology, aren't we Nos? Where did you learn this from, Sutherland?

News for ya, it's not going to work. ;)

I was beginning to feel sorry for them(not having a chance and all)
  3. Rusk and Central will be tough as well.

Rusk wasn't nearly as bad as their 0-14 district record last year indicated.  That sounds stupid, but it's true.  They had issues throughout the entire athletic department once the AD knew he was going to be reassigned.  Discipline will be much improved this year.

Central is still tough at home.  True - the talent may be down, but a lot of good teams have lost to a less talented Central team in Pollok.

I heard that one of Centrals starters transfered to Huntington.

Nobody is safe in this district, they will knock each other out.....If you play HJ or Silsbee you know you will be taken to the woodshead but in 18 its like Forrest Gump opening a box of choclate....dont know what you will get....lol
  5. Look for Jasper to explode into this new district. Jasper knows all about tough teams coming from a district with Silsbee and Hardin Jefferson. They also are bringing back two all district guards look to see a quick offense and a pressure defense. The also brought more posts into the program with 6'6 Matthew Barrows, 6"5 Justin Mcoullgh. My picks are Jasper,Hudson,Carthage

Did Jaspers big men come from the jv?
  6. You have to consider tha fact that Jasper is not in the same league as Carthage. They have a legit shot at winning it all this year. Jasper is a good team, they just look bad when playing someone that clearly out matches them. You cant compare apples with oranges........Jasper will still make the playoffs in one of the toughest districts in the state........If Jimmy Johnson was the coach-Carthage still wins.

  7. Learned today that Phil Ransopher, the state tourney announcer passed away. I loved to hear his voice. He was a legend and an icon for many years at the state tourney. It just wont be the same and he will be greatly missed.

I have been going to the state tourney since 1972, I haven't missed a year since. Working on 38 straight years. The one person that I will always attach my memories of the tourney is Phil. He was what we always called him, "the man at the mic". The last few years he hasn't been doing as many games as he had been. His introductions of each team at the beginning of the games were priceless.

You are so right, he will be terribly missed.

Aggies, were you there when Phil burped over the mike? that was priceless!
