Central head football coach applicants
ozensfinest replied to bobbymcgee's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I say either James Brown, or Kirby Jones...(Coach Jones is a great coach produced alot of great players)... BISD should try going out of the area to hire a coach though idk why they never hire out the area -
What makes you think Central will get someone better? Saveat has made some awful hires Most recently he brought in a guy who 4A Crosby no longer wanted to coach 5A West Brook and he took a perfectly good football program that had made the playoffs seven years in a row and turned it into a doormat. Saveat has hired is nephew as Ozen basketball coach and Robert Lee as Central basketball coach both of which squander talented teams year in and year out by their inability to coach. He hired John Clayton at Ozen and Jackson at Central. He allowed Stump and Stowers to get away all though those were probably beyond his control. Letting Washington go was the right move but they also should have done the same with the man who gave him an extra year.
hit it right on the money -

Do you care to elaborate on that?
They beat nederland to go to regionals WOW big deal
They also had to beat other teams to get to that point. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Nederland beat them in district AND was state ranked for a majority of the year?
Just tell you how much ozen's program has gone down nederland seriously? C'mon soulja, I've watched central this year their talented but not more talented than Ozen the big sophomore from central isn't that good to me

Quick question for my basketball GURU's

The question was who was better as sophomores...no one can predict the future on hunters future although i wish the best for him cause at the end of the day he was a panther but that wasn't the question is he better than frank was a sophomore? Frank's character has nothing to do with his skill on the basketball court, so stop bringing that up -

We have a good core group that will be back and should have an outstanding freshman team. See if we can't beat that door down next year. [glow=red,2,300][/glow] As far as choking, no we didn't. Just ran into a better team. We are still an elite team and elite program. AS far as our QB, Jimmy Salter was not the problem, he has played outstanding the past three years. AS far as our offensive coordinator, he did what he thought was the best way to win. It just didn't work out. Now for those commenting about number 14 he is an outstanding young man and SMU is going to be getting a great ballplayer. He is not a cheap shot artist.
Elite teams/programs don't get blewout in the third round of the playoffs especially with the number one defense in the state...i guess you can say that #1 defense was very misleading huh? If memory serves me right i think.lamarque lost to these guys too, you calling lamarque not an elite program..seems to me like they did some damage to ozen in more ways than one last year. You want to run our program down, bet you would love to play on a winner instead of Ozen. Come on admit it your envious. Even if i agreed that we choked (which i don't) the only ones that CAN choke would be teams good enough to get there. So far Ozen isn't even good enough to be ABLE to choke.
Its considered a choke when you have a defense who pitches 9 shutouts in a season and only gives up 42 points all year when playing no one then when faced against a formidable opponent nearly gets shuts out and almost gives up their season total in one game thats a choke in my book buddy
When Ozen gets a winning tradition then you will have a book, until then you have a envious opinion. Let me know next time Ozen makes it into the elite 8 two years in a row. I may be dead from old age. Do ya'll really have a 46-65 all time record?
Its just facts stop bring up Ozen you never see me on here saying how great Ozen is in football unlike WOS fans i'm realistic

I see WOS fans or delusional "Navasota was the better team tonight" they exposed every flaw in WOS's team last night...That weak schedule of WOS is the only reason they were even as hyped up as they were this year...I've said it once and I'll say it again WOS is known to choke in these situations and last night was a prime example it's no way yall were beating Navasota with that simple offense...WOS offense was terrible too simple not beating a good team being one dimensional like that
Y'all are taking what coach Thompson said and making it something else! Go back and watch the film! We were constantly driving on navasota and then shooting ourselves in the foot! Yes navasota made us pay for the turnovers, that's what great teams do! They scored 24 points off of turnovers...add 80 yards of penalties to that and that's what happened! Coach Thompson was right on the money with what he said! I'm not saying the mustangs were the better team. Just wish we could have seen how it would have been if we didn't have the worst game of our season tonight.
