22-16 Deweyville. HD with ball
-
Deweyville fumbles, deweyville picks it up and makes the 2pt conversion. Refs rule it no good. I'm guessing you can't advance a fumble on a PAT try??
-
Touchdown Deweyville! Going for 2
-
Didn't make it. (Questionable tackle from his helmet) 2nd over time. Deweyville with the ball first.
-
4th and 8 for deveyville from 23

2nd and about 9 for Deweyville on the 24ish. Time out.
-
Deweyville with INt in end zone. Deweyville ball at HD 25

HD gets ball first in OT.

Great game Silsbee. Y'all will make some noise in the playoffs. Hopefully give Carthage all they can handle. Good luck to y'all! Side note, I heard Thomas got hurt? Didn't hear if he was ok. At the Deweyville in Hull Daisetta so the broadcast was a little scketchy out here.

The field looks great here at Tiger Stadium
Didn't they replant it or turf? Ive heard many Silbeee peeps say how they needed to do something about it. Wasn't it messed up since the "mud bowl" the last time Silsbee beat us?

Well, UIL rules prohibit a scrimmage once you have played your first game, so it would have to be an actual game.
But having Nederland at this point gives the Mustangs the same things that the Silsbee matchup does. A team that can throw the ball as well as running it. Otherwise, this Friday will be the last time that the Mustangs will see a team that does not run either the Slot or Wing T until they start the playoffs. They will need reps against a passing offense.
I completely agree with needing Nederland to break the "wing T" curse. Lol. What if they called it a "practice"? Or maybe because of the circumstances, the UIL would grant a waiver??

Playing the Bulldogs on that date would probably benefit the Mustangs a lot more this season than if it were played on its original date.
I agree with that. Also, some say because it's in the middle of district, why risk the players? Well, I guess you could do a 4 quarter controlled scrimmage??? Sounds strange but this season hasn't started out exactly "normal" either. Lol

Well, I am 54. Just remember my first game when I was 4.
Thanks for the compliment. lol
Lol!! No problem!! Of course I don't have a leg to stand on....I was a few days old when I was at my first WOS game. Parents have had the same seats and tickets since 1971 when they were the WO Chiefs! I'll be 37 on Thursday so that says I've been watching WOS football(or playing for them) for 37 years!!! I'm getting old!

Bellville has played a tough non district schedule but also isn't as good as years past. Madisonville has a improved team and have played a couple good teams, but still wouldn't challenge WOS. Yoe blew out Bellville in week 1 , but lost in overtime to Bay City who also beat Bellville in overtime. That kinda had me scratching my head. Yoes losses are to Bay City, China Spring, and Gatesville . All good 4A teams.
Yeah, maybe I should have titled my post what is wrong with "all of the big boys in each classification" lol

And you can certainly have those views when it comes to your Jaguars and other teams.
Being a life long Silsbee Tiger, seeing Tiger homecoming games for 50 years, being involved with the school admins and coaches and learning over the years how the system works, I can say with 100% certainty that the date has much more to do with when homecoming is than what opponent it may be. That's just fact, not opinion.
50 years??? Man, I thought you were only like 40 years old??? (Insert smiley devil face emoji) lol!!!
-
I could be mistaken but If I remember correctly(which I normally don't, lol) this same thing happened after Rita. It was either HJ or HF that had to use our game as homecoming because of the abbreviated schedule.

Madisonville is good. Has some good wins so far. But a very distant 2nd to WO-S.
Weren't they the team that made that "out of nowhere" run a few years ago?
-
What is up with the region? The perennial winners are losing. Is it maybe because of Harvey and not being able to practice or starting the season late? Anyways, I hope all can get back to somewhat normal eventually.
