It's interesting to see how it all worked out. I didn't think we'd be in this position going into the season. A win against Silsbee would put the program ahead of schedule and be a great springboard to the postseason.

It'll probably be 80% for Silsbee. There's no point, really. lol

Gonna be a good one. DCTF has the Tigers as a 9-point favorite, but it doesn't matter in this rivalry. We've all seen that anything can happen. Jasper put up 28 in the first quarter tonight before Coach Crumedy put backups in during the 2nd quarter to get them some good experience. Had to avoid injuries to get ready for next week. I can't wait!

Backups have already played some. I believe the Dawgs scored on their first four possessions. HJ has this big H-back type kid that caught a 70-yard TD pass, but they have 67 total yards for the half, so they haven't done anything otherwise.

I saw on the KJAS website that we wanted to move this game up to tonight, but H-J insisted on playing it tomorrow night even though there's still likely to be rain in the area. Look under the Friday night part of the schedule. I know the Hawks are way down this year and it's hard for me as a Bulldog to get up for this one, especially after the big win on Friday night. I know Coach Crumedy will get the kids ready to play and fine tune some stuff for the Tigers next week and beyond. Jasper 42, HJ 7.

I hate to hear about what's going on down there. I really hope it's just a bump in the road and that WOS gets somewhere close to what Mustang fans expect very soon. That may sound a bit naive coming from an outsider that is long gone from the area, but I love the rivalry as much as the one we have with Silsbee. We've seen the downfall of teams like LaMarque, Willowridge, etc. and it would be sad to see you guys heading down that road. If Hickman isn't the guy, who truly is? Now, Jasper fans have gone through this more than once and it looks like we finally found the guy that can bring us the same sustained success (or better) that we had a few decades back. Crumedy has that "it" factor and seems to have changed the culture from the minute he took the job. The Bulldogs seem to be getting better quickly, too.

Jasper just beat WOS 34-14. The Silsbee game will be for the district title.

I'm glad we took care of business, but it's more fun to win when the Mustangs are at full strength. The Silsbee game will loom large...
