DCTF agrees that we're overrated by knocking us out of the 4A DII top ten altogether. I'll say it til I'm blue in the face. Diboll is VERY GOOD on defense. We got out butts kicked by those guys. On that side of the ball, they can play with a LOT of good teams. We won't learn much about the Bulldogs this week against a weak LaMarque bunch, but next week will be huge for us against the Mustangs down in Orange.

That's alright. We'll see if we belong there after we play you guys. If we lose, I won't have anything more to say about any rankings.

Jasper took quite a hit after the loss to Diboll and DCTF only has us by 32 over a really bad LaMarque team. I think they're underrating Diboll, too. Those dudes are legit...

Hard to go against the Eagles until someone beats them. I'll take them 28-20.

Jasper's district is weaker than it was last year and it was bad even then. It probably won't be a good indicator of where we're at going into the playoffs. I don't like to downplay anybody we play, but it's just the truth. The only good game on paper before the playoffs is West Orange and right now, they're probably a better group than we are. We'll know for sure in two weeks.

How many really good Jasper teams over the last 40 years does this sound like? The same three things always bite us. Penalties, turnovers at the worst times and the inability to play from behind. Having said all of that, I LOVE our defense. They're gonna give us a chance to be great if we can just clean a few things up on offense. I would guess that Diboll doubled us up in time of possession and the game was still right there for us at the end.

I remember past seasons where we could move the ball and score on a lot of teams, but we couldn't stop anybody. It's nice to have a good defense again in Jasper.

Honestly, this is better for us in the long run than going to Livingston and blowing them out. The game with WOS in two weeks is gonna be fun for both sides. I can't wait for that one...

I think they could be contenders in 3A if they can stay healthy. Their d-line is as good as advertised. We didn't run on them all night.

I hope they feel that way as a team and use it as motivation. Diboll is a good football team and maybe we're not as good as we think we are. LaMarque is definitely in trouble.

Diboll came to play! Our coaches generally go a great job with adjustments, so we should pay better in the second half. Great football game so far...

West Orange-Stark might be there too if they can get their coaches up there somehow. We're playing there in 2 weeks.

I just saw a Facebook post from someone that works with the Jasper Booster Club looking for concession stand volunteers. Should be a pretty good ballgame. Praying for everyone that's struggling down there right now...

If Livingston scores 28, we're gonna be really concerned. No offense against the Lions, but our defense should play a lot better than that, especially if it's a slow track because of the rain.

I agree that it won't be close. I think we scored 74 on them last year, but that probably won't happen this time because the Lions are a little better. Jasper wins 55-7.
