Newton is a good example of this. Their economy has been awful for as long as I can remember. I think a lot of those kids work so hard because football is a way to move forward. The pros are unlikely, but a lot of those guys get good opportunities to play and get an education in college. Jasper is similar, but recently a couple of companies have brought in new jobs so things are looking up.

Shepherd has been playing pretty well on defense, but they can't score on anybody. They haven't played a strong opponent yet, so I think Jasper makes short work of them. I'll say Bulldogs 45, Pirates 7.

We needed this game just as much. Our district is terrible and if we will probably roll through it in more dominant fashion than we did last year.

I saw that coming on radar when they called the game. There was no sense in starting and going through more delays.

Wouldn't be surprised if we end up playing someone on the 10/25 open date just to get another game in. With the lack of quality in our district (all of the other teams are struggling badly), it would be nice to be able to play a halfway decent team that week.
