I am not down there, but my question is, is it really the coaching?  They have had the same head coach for a while and were a play off team for a couple of years.  Just wondering, not trying to start anything.  I used to at least listen to the games too, but they aren't broadcast anymore so I have no idea on what the problem is this year.

just noticed that they played for PNG's in 2009 I saw that on youtube because there was a recording on the "I" that the band did.  I went last year for Vidor's so I had never paid attention to that before.  Didn't know if that was always planned or not.  Kind of hope they play Lumberton next year though I need to go to a Vidor/Lumberton game!

I have a question.  I just noticed that in 2009 Vidor played PN-G for PN-G's Homecoming.  Last year, PN-G played Vidor for our Homecoming and this year PNG is playing Vidor for their Homecoming again.  This is the third year in a row it has been one of the schools Homecomings.  Do they always play each other for Homecoming's and why?  Or is it just a coincidence?  This is my favorite game.  Always a lot of spirit on both sides and they seem to play respectful of each other. 

Go on, keep doubting us, once you are Scalped and pushed overboard then you will believe!  LOL!  I never get into these boards like this unless we are playing the Indians.  Good spirits on both sides!  Good luck tonight.  Any other night I would say Scalp 'em also, but tonight I have to say Walk the Plank Indians!

I don't know Lady Pirate, I think you and I could tie.  My first Homecoming I was 6 months old.  I never even went to school in Vidor, I lived in Lumberton but every Friday night we would go to pick up my grandpa and take him to Vidor football games.  By the time I got old enough to chose if I wanted to go to Lumberton or Vidor games I was hooked on my Pirates!  Got married in 1995 and moved in 1996 but flew down that year for HC.  The past two years I have drove over 800 miles to cheer on the Pirates at Homecoming.  We are both pretty hardcore!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PIRATESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!  Have fun tomorrow wish I could be at this one too!

Can't wait to get this "rivalry" settled this year.  I think the reason it is a real rivalry this year is because of how close both teams are to that coveted spot.  Unfortunately we are not usually as close to it and PNG always seems to be close to it.  Good luck to both teams.  I love my Pirates and there is nothing like the Pirates vs. the Indians!  Wish I could go.  This year it is Vidor's turn to upset a Homecoming!

Amen. That's one thing that stats or recruiters or anything can measure is heart. Its the one thing that makes a good team a great team. And these Vidor players sure do have a lot of it. Especially after what happened to Matt.

Vidor not only has heart this year but they have DETERMINATION, they want it for Matt.  GO PIRATES!!

Wish I wasn't 800 miles away!  Oh well just nipped my crazy thought of wishing I could go to that game!  I brought my youngest son last year for that game to see Vidor's HC.  That is my all time favorite game.  GO PIRATES!  Your brother and his wife will love it though!

Scalp Em or Walk the Plank Bowl!

The best games out there in my opinion is a good ole fashioned Vidor Pirate/PNG Indians game.  Both have great support and go back and fourth with one another.  Is there any need to be nasty?  The two schools are not alike but that doesn't mean that they don't have class.  Both schools are class acts.  Although for this one I will stick with GO PIRATES!

This article almost brought me to tears.  I can only imagine the emotion and tears that are gonna be on that field tonight.  Central it is incredible of you to let the Pirates have their time to do this tonight.  Guess it goes to show you that there really is nothing like "The Boys of Fall."  Good luck to both teams tonight.  I can say that no matter who wins on the scoreboard, you ALL are WINNERS!!
