My statement "I have not seen FOOTBALL played in Hardin" simply means, I have not seen a 3 dimensional Hardin team since 2000-2002. Which would be the last time Hardin had teams where they played Offense, Defense and Special teams and were extremely successful at all three of those aspects of the game.

Has Hardin has good defenses and offenses since? Yes. But not at the same time, on one team.

Pay attention to Hardin football better, or do not comment on this thread if you aren't familiar with the history of the program.
Hardin had size and talent back then but skill players were being played out of position.  Dont think they were any better or worse than the 2007/2008 team.  Depth is always a problem and Hardin was not 3 dimensional in 2000-2002, they were good and if they hadn't blown a lead over Garrison they would most likely won a state championship that year.  Garrison went on to blow everybody else out.  Harrison Gray sat on the sidelines when he should have seen some time on defense as a safety or linebacker too much talent to waste.  If Larry Haynes had that team who knows what numbers they could have put up with those skill kids.

Big kid at the gym in Liberty is John Stelly, starting fullback at I believe Eastern Oklahoma State, also Mitch Villemez, outside linebacker at Blinn, had a nice 95 yard interception return for a TD last week in their scrimmage. Stelly was on the Miami Dolphins watch list last year on their web site.
All Lonestar Conference
                Second Team All Region
                Preseason All-American
All after redshirt pulled playing the six games left in the season.  First game is Offensive Player of the Week Lonestar Conference.

I remember in 2008 John Stelly and Mitch Villimez got shutdown by the Bobcats in Daisetta. Aaron Cook and Sam Elliott lead the Bobcats to victory. Stelly and Villimez had like 25 yards rushing.  ;D
And where are those guys playing now or is anybody from HD playing at the college level now, thought a recent player was at Lamar.  Joe Slack class act HD you better get ready Hardin might just take him from you. LOL

If that post is directed towards me, you should probably re-read my post.

Stelly was the fullback/linebacker mentioned BY ME, on the 2007-2008 football teams.

What post are you reading "Back in the Day" ?

Did you read my post where I stated "I hear NFL scouts are looking at Stelly, ofcourse he is playing college ball. NFL scouts do not recruit washed up has beens that are sitting at the house.

What planet are you from ???

Correction, TAPPS schools are not allowed to "recruit" players.
TAPPS schools don't follow UIL zoning rules. Players don't have to live in that area. It's shows when basketball season starts, kids from acoss the counrty can come to play at TAPPS schools. Parents pay good money toward tuition for their kids to play and get educated. Funny how all their basketball players are 6'4 to 6'7, "but they don't recruit". I can sell you some ocean front property in California.
Hey they have ocean front property in California.

Liberty will have no trouble beating Hardin, and Kelly this year.

This coming from an X-Hornet. The Hornets have fell off the map since the 2000-2003 run, combined with the talent displayed in 2007-2008 with Nolan, Marsh and company.

Other than that year, I have not seen FOOTBALL played in Hardin in nearly 10 years. No sign of things turning around in the near future either.

P.S. Have been watching Hornets football for 30 years.
You might want to retract that statement because I believe that the 2009 Hardin class did something that no Hardin team has done in about 20 years and that is beat an EC team on their homecoming. The 2009 class were also bi-district champs as were the 2008 class.

By the 2009 class I mean the 2008 season
Not sure what planet your from, the years the Stelly kid was in hardin they had some talent and played well.  Stelly is still playing today.

I wonder when was the last time Hardin lost to Warren?

Maybe one of the Adminstrators can assist me, in this question?

I can't remember Hardin losing to Warren, maybe once in twenty years ????

As far as Kountze, the game will be in Hardin and I don't believe the Hornets will let that one slip away.

So yeah, 3-7.....wins over Kountze, WH, and Warren. Sounds good to me!
Dont believe since playing Warren, Hardin has ever lost to them.

First of all, his name is Joubert.

He coached in Hardin for nearly 10 years.
Who said Haynes was leaving in the first place?
I know Joubert very well, and coming back to Hardin to coach Football, is not on his things to do list.
Nothing against Joubert I think he is a classy guy just would move with the opportunity.

I know its only been 3 days but looks like coach dale has these guys heading in the right direction... any thoughts ?
:o :o UIL investigation pending.  :D
Mr. Garrity,

Why would you make such a statement? Are you saying it tounge in cheek?  ???

To impune Coach Dale's & Coach Jueburt's integrity, even jokingly is offensive to me.

Yes, I live in Kountze and a lot of people here want our entire athletic dept. to grow and succeed, to the point that the community made a sweeping change to the school board majority for these changes and several others to be made. The others are discipline and academics. Your comment is completely inappropriate UNLESS you have some proof, in which case you should turn it over to the appropriate authorities.

We are trying to build up our ENTIRE school system, academics and extracurricular activities and there are enough haters and opposition to this effort as it is, Oh, are you part of that crowd?  >:( ??? :-\
Jueburt was at Hardin wanting that job if Haynes Left.  So don't put to much faith in him.

It may be either a close one like against EC or a blowout like Newton. Hardin is unable to stop the run and with the Panthers playing on turf, they'll be quick! I'd like for Hardin to win but I don't think they'll pull it off. Good luck to both teams!
I agree don't see Hardin pulling this one out.  No defense agaist a great running team makes for a long night.  Good Luck to all.
  13. Reescano was a great track. Star but not physical enough for football.
What the kid does after HS does'nt make his accomplishment as a HS Player Less.

I hope that C-town Gets Haynes. They'll set records with passes from One Ross Brother to the other. Then They will lose in the 1st round to WOS who could care less about records, and all they care about is being the better TEAM.

Bottom Line is that 4A and 5a HEAD COACHES that are setting records and never losing games dont end up in Hardin.

Not hating on Hardin. Just being honest.

hardin did just as good with parker than they've done with Haynes. And when you throw it 50 times a game you should throw for 4,000 yards to Phillip Beck.

I give the Hardin kids credit Stelly, Nolan, And Villemez, but if you had to take one kid and play a 3A game with him it would be Reescano.
Guess that's why your boy Reescano is sitting. At the HOUSE. True freshman starting college I think he could play with any 3A.
Your acting like Haynes is a Sonny Deetmer, or Todd Dodge. Come on Crosby and Ike had enough.
