This was told to me by a mother of one the returning players. Have to tread lightly with this one. Not sure how well known this one is. Heck may not be a secret at all. Look, the jobs not open yet. And if this rumor is true, and not well known, we don't want it to be thwarted by those that would be opposed to it. At this point, I'm not sure if this is a wish or actual contact has been made. I'll see what more I can find out.

I'll somewhat disagree. Now, looking at how bad Nederland has become I can see your Title statement. But, if Ned had PNG's staff, sure no Title in one or two years. But what about the third or fourth year? When Joseph took over, PNG had a decent program already in place. They just needed someone to bring them to that next level. A coach usually needs 1 year to install their system. 2nd year should show remarkable improvement. 3rd and 4th year should be contenders. But, again, at any one time less than 10% of the coaches can achieve this.

I heard a rumor yesterday concerning Nederland. If true, there is going to be a lot of people here having collective heart attacks! Let's just say I did not see this one coming!

Thanks for breaking this down. It's actually worst than I thought. I say at any one time, there's less than 10% Elite coaches. Didn't realize how much less. With my category of Elite coaches, there is right now only 1.5% active coaches that are Elite. When you add those with only one Title that comes up to 3.6%. Like I've said, if it was easy then every coach would have about 10. If it's talent only then this percentage should be dramatically increased. One would think anyway! Contrary to what some here think, a coach has to have the "it" factor to eventually become Elite!

Let's go with this: 1,500 high schools with 49 active coaches that have won one. That's 3.2%. Well under the 10% I usually state. But I also say it's under 10%. But let me reiterate: When I say Championship coaches I mean Elite coaches. Those that have won at least 2. @WOSdrummer99

HA! Again, MOST Championship coaches can do it in 4 years. I know that seems strange because there isn't a lot of Championship coaches around at any one time. But, if people don't care, it doesn't really matter.
