  2. STJFL has rules concerning the amount of practice that can be done.

    See below

"14. You may not begin practice prior to Monday the week of August 1st of the football season.  Every participant must complete 8 hours of conditioning practice with no contact between players until the 8 hours has been met.  The first 8 hours will consist of 4 2 hour days.  There shall be no more that 10 hours of practice per week prior to the first game of the season.  The first game of the season will be played on the first Saturday after 28 days of practice.  After the first game a team will only be allowed to practice 6 hours or less per week."

The kids are taken care of.

  3. I don't know where this information is comming from, but the only weight that has changed this year is the senior tackle top end and it went up to 155.  Nothing has dropped 30 pounds like stated before.  We have raised the weight every year for 3 years, so WTB you need to get your info from somewhere else so it will be correct. We are trying to allow more big kids to play, not just the skinny ones.  The only way the kid that weighs 145# couild not play is if he falls in to the older/lighter catagory.  Then he can only weigh 120.  If he falls into this catagory, he was most likely held back or failed a grade.

Who ever steelercrazy is, don't start your crap again they are both first class organizations.  Kids will benifit from playing in either organization.

As far as kids starting tackle at 7, they start in the Houston area at 6, they are much more protected with equipment on than not.

There are no 195# kids playing in either league.

I think I have answered all the non-factual information on here, but if I missed something let me know.

Please get your facts straight before you start spouting off about something you know nothing about.

    Thanks

Just stating facts STJFL, about Silsbee and their Coaches,  the only crap is coming from your mouth, as usual.

Sorry but STJFL is correct in all of his statements

  4. Come watch the baby bulldogs and baby indians play their version of Mid County Madness. This is the second year. Last year it was hosted by PNG at the Reservation.

Games are Saturday, 11/17 at Bulldog Stadium.

Nederland Allstars will play PNG Allstars.

    Game Times: Flag 9am, Pee-wee 10am, Jr 11:30am, & Sr 1:30pm

There is a $2 admission fee to pay for use of stadium and the officials.

  5. BISD of today was a merger of Beaumont ISD with South Park ISD. They each had three high schools (French, Beaumont High, Charlton Pollard, South Park High, Forest Park and Hebert) which eventually combined into two schools after the merger. They had steps along the way. Beaumont HS combined with Charlton Pollard High School to make Beaumont Charlton Pollard HS (BCP). After a few years of that, they combined French into BCP to form what is now Central. Then they combined the other schools to make West Brook for two high schools. Not to be outdone, they added back to a third HS, Ozen.

So I think they went from two different ISD's with six high schools to 5 high schools to four high schools to two high schools and then back up to three high schools. Who knows what they will come up with next.

    If memeory serves me correctly,

BISD and SP did not merge. The merger kept getting voted down. So BISD dissolved and SP had to absorb them by law.

This is why my kids would never attend BISD.

  6. If you lost in the quarterfinals, it's the same as losing in round 1, as far as I'm concerned. Losing in the semis means a little, losing in the finals means more, but winning in the finals means everything. It's more fun to watch your team win a game or three, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're a "dominant" team. There are a few super-weak districts that pump out sub-.500 win teams into the playoffs. Get to "the BIG GAME" and I'm impressed (WO-S, Newton, PN-G, Burkeville).

Exactly what I was talking about. Big Ned has advanced past the first round for the past decade.  16 wins in the past ten years. WOS has 11 wins in the last ten years. WOS only advanced past 1 round four times. Why do WOS fans continue to talk of their dominance of football in SE Texas? Not taking away what they have done in there schools history, but what have you done lately? ???
