1. You should do the homework. EC is a mid size 2a, you are 3a. I have no problem with Kirbyville, ya'll have produced some tremendous players over the years and will continue in the future. The fact I am making is that schools outside the immediate triangle do not get the coverage or respect that the larger Bmt and mid county schools do. If I am not mistaken, Kirbyville was 436 and EC number was 360,  on snapshot day and has probably gone down since that time also.
2. I did not see Hank Jones completion stats, plus then add in the yards rushng....? Overall game based on the Coach's style of offense differs, stats do not always tell the whole story.
3. Best I can Figure, Kirbyville is 3a, ...  EC is 2a. Therefore EC is a smaller school than Krbyville. I repeat small schools do not get the respect their larger counterparts do in the newspapers. This is due in part to smaller circulation (newspaper sales) and advertisement sales. As some others have stated, I am sure there were others from Kirbyville that deserved mantion but were not beceause they aren't nearly the high profile athlete as Ford.
4. Cogratulations guys, taking care of business on and off the field is something to be truly proud of.
5. Figure into the equation Jones missed the first three games to a high ankle sprain, and the strength of EC's district schedule his record/stats are just as impressive. Plus he was named Bmt Enterprise player of the week twice. Small schools just don't sell papers or ad space to get much notice.
6. It definately was a strange night, I don't think I have ever seen HJ miss so many layups. Add to that Gus getting in foul trouble and the team not taking the open threes, it sure didn't look like Hawk basketball. That being said, Cayuga is a rock solid, tall, and very good no matter what classification the school is.

The learning of personal sacrifice for the sake of the team is a noble concept, it's a shame Albert Haynesworth didn't learn those lessons.
For every Albert you name, I can name five more who did learn lessons.
It does'nt take but one rotten apple to spoil the whole crate

9. EC has two guys that are around 6'4 - one plays the 1 and the other plays the 5. Depending on sub rotation they both play where needed.
10. Ec had a decent tourney at Big Sandy. They finished third having suffered a loss to New Waverly by 5 in the Semi's then beating Woodville for third. Steady improvement with each game. Looks like EC will be in the thick of things with Anahuac and Kountze again this year. GO BUCS
11. Congrats Silsbee. Petey went down at toward the end of the game, was it anything serious?
12. Good game Bucs, tired legs and football shape showed but still an impressive outing for only one practice. Ball movement was great but the press and overall defense is what really excited me. Next up is the Big Sandy tourney this weekend and the HJ tourney the following should see some really good competition there. Good Luck on the upcoming season and GO BUCS
13. Play Ball, EC has a history of playing football on Friday and Basketball on tuesday. I geussing we will do the same thing this week with a tourney in Big sandy to follow. All of Ec's varsity basketball players were on the football field friday night. Practice starts tomorrow. Go Bucs
14. Your message brought tears to my eyes. What those young men did was awesome. Sorry to hear about your dad Mike. That is a feel good story in a sad situation. Stories like this means people do and still care about others. Glad you shared this with us Mike. Very well said bleed orange. My sentiments also
15. EC showed their true strength last night, not size, not speed, no superstar athletes, just heart and determination. Congratulations on a successful season and an all out effort last night. GO BUCS
16. I don't know what Newton brought last week but EC packed their side of the stadium in Giddings. A really great turn out in spite of a three hour drive thru Houston at evening rush hour.  GO BUCS
17. Do you think there is a chance Coach Barbay in Anahuac might apply?
18. Congrats Anahuac on a good season. It sounds like yall gave them a heck of a fight
19. EC looked a little stale in the first half last night. Appeared to run some new formations and just couldn't get timing down. Had some good drives that stalled deep in McGregor territory and a punt return for a TD called back due to a penalty. Just couldn't get points on the board. But just like the rest of this season the Bucs never quit and found a way to win. It 's hasn't been pretty this year but it has been successful. Go Bucs
