  1. You're thinking about it though. I can hear your thoughts from 200 miles away.
  2. They made some personnel changes after their loss to Kilgore last year. 21 games later, here we are, talking about how they're going to get outrun to the endzone
  3. Here's the last leg on the 4x100. Remarkable speed that kid has. 2017 Texas UIL 4a 4x100 State Championship
  4. I say one player because only one player is abnormally fast. He shortened a pretty big lead Atlanta had in the 4x100 last year and almost won it for Silsbee. Without him, it wouldn't have been very close.
  5. One would sure hope so. That's a tough loss to see.
  6. Yea I guess nobody got that I was hinting Atlanta won the 4x100 and 2nd in the 4x200 lol. Watching the 4x100 though, you could see Barnes closing so fast. That being said, different story when pads are on and you're relying on someone to hit you in stride. Plus, like I said, Surratt and company will definitely be able to lock down 1 player. Carthage's secondary aren't snails either, mind you.
  7. I read a lot about speed this, speed that. Yes, Silsbee has a few of the fastest kids in the state. They almost won the state championship 4x100 last year ;). They had the same kids last year. Carthage knows how to deal with speed. I mean, Kilgore did win the 4x200 (beating Atlanta by .007 seconds), and it wasn't even a close game with them. Carthage has arguably the best coaching staff in the state. I have a very good feeling they will know how to deal with a couple of speedsters. If Silsbee wants to win, they will have to figure out how to get past not only the best front 7 they've faced, but quite possibly the best front 7 in 4A (they are in my opinion). To add to that, Silsbee will have to stop a very well rounded offense, that showcases the best RB in the state. The only time I've seen them struggle is when they shot themselves. I think Silsbee will see exactly why Carthage is the #1 team in the state come Friday night. I take nothing away from Silsbee, they have to be good to get this far, but Carthage is something special this season.
  8. I know I'm late on this, but yea Jasper had almost as many players on the field as football players. Thanks for the props guys. Atlanta had a good game plan, and did what they needed to do early, but couldn't hang on. Jasper's huge o-line just beat the defense down all night. Even when Atlanta was able to get through, they were too spent to hang on to make tackles behind the line. Jasper has a great team, and my gosh are they big. Size hasn't usually been a big factor against Atlanta, for the fact they can usually get up early and hang on to a lead, but Jasper came back way too quickly. Good luck to you guys! We probably won't be in 4A competition next year, with the numbers looking like they do. We made a good last ditch effort though! Even though the score got out of hand, I'd like to think we made it a game for the majority!
  9. This could be a better game than most think. I picked Center out of good faith. Go Riders!
  10. Well, this thread is dead on both forums.
  11. First round is going to be tougher than the 2nd, I assure you.
  12. Jasper vs Atlanta Carthage Friday night Not sure if time yet.
  13. Rather large country boys from what I hear.
  14. While that's true, I've come to find out, it matters WHAT exactly is strapping up against you lol.
  15. I've only seen CS once though. Not this season but, we may be seeing them again real soon if Atlanta drops to 3A.
  16. I wouldn't mind meeting Jasper, but I'd rather see this be a close game so I can at least assume they're human.
  17. Haha now that's dirty. If we do... watch out
  18. It will be if Atlanta and Jasper in Carthage if they both hold up their ends of the deal. If Jasper loses to Diboll though, just IF, it would then be a 3 way tie between Rusk, Diboll, and Jasper right? So... Rusk is at (-2), Jasper is at (+7), and Diboll is at (-5). IF Diboll won by 7, we'd be playing Diboll, IF we beat or come within 9 points of beating SH.
  19. I heard Orangefield is sending the JV to take care of WOS tomorrow. Source may not be reliable...
