Dayton played hard just not to be. #34 is just a sophomore and the kid can ball. I would have him throwing all week and get him a ton of snaps the last 2 games. Anyway hope Dayton can find a way to win on senior night at Bronco stadium but Santa Fe is no joke. One way or the other I will be there. 

No he has something called speed and vision. If he can throw at all it changes up everything the opposing defense has to do. It's a huge difference when a kid doesn't have to hold a block but for a second and the play is by him. I think Nail is a nice QB but Tank is a sophomore and most definitely has a much bigger upside not to mention he will be here 2 more years not 2 more games.

Oh no sir I have to disagree. It is about winning and losing even in high school sports. I don't think winning and being a good mentor have to be mutually exclusive to be a coach. You can actually do both. If it's not quit paying the AD's good money and find a youth minister for half the money to coach these kids. Hell if you have a really good football program it's the one sport that can basically pay for its self with attendance and concessions. Lose a lot of games and people don't show up which in turn cost the school lots of money they could put back into the program. Just the way it is.

I’m not saying bellbiz is the one calling these kids out. But believe me it’s happening. I’m just stating the fact that it’s happening, and i think it’s BS. I know there is a better way to handle ones dislikes and gripes but not many will do that. These 36-38 kids are working hard to get where “We” think they should be, they are doing the work but so many sit in the stands and bad mouthe them. I know for a fact that it’s being done because we have a big family, sometimes 30 strong and nearly every ball game they hear comments calling players names out with unwanted and dang sure unneeded and upsetting comments. A couple times they have asked the person/persons to please refrain their comments for another time and place and so far the folks have respected that, and some of those fans are parents of kids that have quit this year as well as past years and some that have graduated. I don’t hide behind a screen name, my son is # 10, Aj Nail. He loves his Broncos beloved, bust’s his tail 7 days a week really, and when he walks off the field each night, he has left it all on the field. Hell i told him after last nights game that he was right at 1650 yards for the season (6games) and 12 tds. He said,”Dad, it ain’t even about that”. Put me right in my place, this young man i know without a doubt is dedicated to turning this thing around, and dang sure don’t deserve some of the comments that has been heard about him and his team. I would rather only see 100 fans in the stands supporting the team and hoping for the best, than 500 running down the team. If the shoe fits, just save your 6 or 7 bucks, and if it don’t fit, come on out to Methodist field Bronco Stadium and support these young men Friday Night for some Friday Night Lights against PNG. A beautiful sea of Purple.

Dayton is just having a hard time scoring points. Take away Splendora and Daytons averaging just under 20 a game. Going to have to score more than that if they want to make the playoffs. Defense played descent against the run but was torched early and often on deep balls. I know part of that is because they stacked the box but dang NC receivers were wide open down field. It looked just to easy early on. Oh well they catch a injury plagued BH squad next Friday and really need a W. Next 4 weeks are no lay ups like Splendora and Humble.

At end of the day, if my best 11 can't get a yard on yours best 11. You win

Move-ins are part of it. Porters also had three or four for once this year. However.....I'd use stud lightly. From what I know, it isn't like these three have any major D-1 offers. It is still with less. Now someone from Cougarland that does have D-1 talent, and always has transfers as well, should know better than to say NC doesn't have less talent. We heard about the excuses for the loss to Porter. Seems that I recall one excuse was that three "D-1" starters didn't play. Well, you won't find ANY D-1 talent between NC and Porter combined. Soooooooo, to say the New Caney staff does more with less than anybody, is pretty spot on.  

24-14 with 2:14 left. Once again out coached and out scored the 2nd half by the worst team I have seen all year. Congrats to all the seniors and keep your heads up. It's not easy when you go into every game with the deck stacked against you.

Playoffs, playoffs did you say playoffs. The focus now needs to be on preventing turnovers creating turnovers first downs, points, defensive stops. Learn from the lost and forget about it. All we can do at this time is control what we can and that is getting prepared for Barbers Hill....not Crosby not Porter but BH.

I haven't made it out to see Crosby yet. The past few weeks the talk was how good Crosby's defense is (was) and that their secondary was great. Can someone explain what happened to their defense? Was it injuries or are they just not near as good as thought to be? And, I think it was 14.2 that stated the off the field problems got in the way. I'm assuming it was all the kneeling vs. standing for the National Anthem. Has this caused division on the team? Has Riordan lost the ship? Or maybe it's just that Porter is way better than thought, but I highly suspect that is not the reason. Anyone have opinions on my questions?

This sounds like and excuse.  In your words a loss is a loss.  So a serious question for Cougar14.2: Do you go after ex-Navasota coach Lee Fedora if Crosby misses the playoffs this year, I'm sure Crosby could pay what it takes........

Before Crosby starts making excuses about injuries,,,Dayton was without starting QB, 3 yr. starting d-end , and 3 yr. starting all district left takle, starting OLB. With Crosby unheard of depth, still should have been blow out against a team that's won 6 games in 9 yrs. JS

Ummm I didn't make excuse about our lost to Splendora. If you had read the thread I was concerned about our ability to stop Splendora's run game before kickoff. If your speaking for all the Crosby posters on this thread you might want to read them again, some do give respect to Porter while also including that Crosby was without players etc. JS

Going to be more interesting than most think, 99 out 3 weeks leaves us very light at end. Smash mouth football is what Splendora wants to do, hopefully guys step up on D so 60 doesn't have play much on D. In the past with our defense scheme have been very susceptible to power run game, things have changed personnel and scheme wise. Best case offense starts fast and FINISH drives w/TD that happens going be hard Splendora to catch up.
