Vidor’s bye week is 9/7. Kinda screwed up. I think we were suppose to play a Houston school. They must have backed out and LCM was added.

Atmosphere to me is the action on the field, but also the interaction of the two fan bases in the seats. When your side is packed and the game is intense, it loses just a little of the excitement if there is no reaction coming from the other side. Vidor, Nederland, PNG you get that with every game regardless if it's a home or away game.

Vidor was called for interfering with the receiver catching the ball. I've seen the play several times. The PNG player who was identified as the receiver made no attempt to catch the ball. The Vidor players ran right by him, without touching him. The ball was recovered behind him. The ball had traveled ten yards, so no illegal touching. The ball was recovered and the Vidor players were running off the field when the flag was thrown. The refs missed an illegal hit in the back on the play by PNG. Not saying this called decided the outcome of the game. But it was a huge monumentium changer. If the call was made right and Vidor scores before half to go up 29-13, no telling how the second half goes. PNG may not have tried the on-side kick to start the third. For fear of giving Vidor a short field and being down by 16 already. Game is over and the outcome is not changing. Time now for everyone cheer on the district and take down 21-5a.

He was basing that on Vidor beating PAM and PNG losing to Nederland. That would put Vidor at 7-1 in district and PNG at 6-2.

But Atascocia, New Caney, Porter, and North Shore are in the coverage area? Not trying to debate anything, just trying to understand.

How is it that the Woodlands are not in this rankings? You have WestBrook ranked #10 and they just lost to them. Lufkjn is #6 and lost to them as well. They are also ranked in all the state polls? Just curious how teams are viewed and voted on?

No. We play Livingston for homecoming this year. You will just have to settle for the fireworks on the field in this one.

I believe week in and week out, every opponent we have faced has stopped us in the past. But it's the past for a reason. Keep thinking that is your advantage and let's see the results. Vidor is playing at a different level than years past and they will be focused. Should be a good game and hope for a injury free game as well. Vidor should have the edge.

Where did these stats come from? No way Vidor only had 6 flags all night against them.

Congrats Pirates on a great win. Nederland played hard and never gave up. Glad both teams came out with no serious injuries. Hats off to Mathews and the entire coaching staff at Vidor. I was one after the BH game saying a change was needed. I've seen a fire lit and changes made that has turned us around. As for the refs last night, they were absolutely horrible. Some posted stats that had 6 penalties for 61 yards against Vidor. Don't know where those came from, but that was garbage. Never seen more flags thrown from across the field by a ref not in position to make a call. And so many flags from "one side" of the field either. Great game and time to focus on Lumberton.

I think it's safe to say no one really knows how this game will turn out. Both teams are coming in with two wins, but still with a lot of questions. Can you fairly judge Nederland off of wins over Livingston and Lee? And the same can be said about Vidor over Central and Ozen? Regardless of records, these two teams play each other close and hard. Each team has its strengthens and weaknesses. I just hope for a good hard fought game with no injuries and a Pirate victory. Good luck to both teams.
