2007 had some great RB's though. Hemphill will bounce back shortly. I'll take SA by 17 in this game.

Who did that 2007 Hemphill team lose to in the playoffs. It was bad if I remember right...I'm old and losing memory.

What state do you think produces the QBs? Cali?
Depends on system and where we're going in the convo?
Past? As in molded into NFL caliber or just career collegiate QB's that do not relate to NFL model....We could be talkin two different languages here. Lol

you want a great QB you come on down to the state of Texas to lead your team. I know majority of the starting qbs in the NFL are from Texas. I'm sure the same is to say for college. Heck didnt Florida Gators sign a back up qb from Manvel last year?
As much as I'd like this to be true, it's not & it's certainly not where I would recruit a QB. But, I do love to see our home grown boys advance to the highest level at the position.

Cali, Texas, Florida is speed & raw athleticism above the rest.
Georgia, Ohio, Bama, Cajun country is power & more power.
You got the upper Midwest and mid-Atlantic & (Washington "state") throwing in the big hogs up front with some sharp minds and couple that with some high football IQ - QB's and you make up majority of continental US for college football.

There have already been multiple outlets that say even if he's not named the starter that he's expected to be under center by mid-season. I wonder how many non-qbs from Texas actually contribute at 'Bama. The only ones I can think of recently are A-Shawn Robinson from Arlington Heights and Deandrew White from North Shore.
Nick usually don't come to Texas for offense, so this for me is pretty big.

From what I witnessed at the Jasper & LCM scrimmage Newton looked good. Newton will hurt some feeling this year and it's not gonna be the Newton fans feelings. I'm feeling the Newton fans and bloggers will not have to taste the crow this year. Just my opinion based on what I have seen so far. Wish both teams a injury free game and a learning experience to drive them both deep into the playoffs.
Where y'all get those east Texas kids from? Gene pool is thick as hello in Newton, TX

I got to see Navasota vs. Carthage last year in the playoffs & was blown away by "atmosphere".
But for the area, I'd say PNG or BH & Crosby
