  1. Dayton was the first and only defense Lumberton has faced that was worth something until this Friday. Lumberton did win the game on heart and great play at the end of the game, but what happen the first 3 1/2 quarters? L-Town made mistakes and couldn't put points on the board. Lumberton will be facing the same type of stinging defense this week but PNG will put 28 or more points on the offensive side where Dayton failed to do so.
  2. District games are about match-ups. PNG out matches L-Town in every way including the waterboy's. I would be willing to bet that Ozen gives you a loss just like your team will be receiving this Friday.
  3. Your are 100% right about the rushing stats. I was mainly talking about the way our o-line matched up against their d-line. We had 4 dumb play calling that turn into int. If we would have ran the ball more that game the stats would have been there, plus it was the 1st district game. Lumberton had a tough opener against Dayton, then ya'll destroyed Vidor & Central the next two weeks. Friday will be the best game of the year for both teams. Good Luck.
  4. Maverick24, you can stop blowing smoke in our tee-pee now. Lumberton's defense might be fast but they lack in size up front. The PNG line blew Big Ozen, Little LCM, and Bid Nederland's front four off the ball all night. This will be another sweet victory for our boys again this week to knock off another undefeated team in our district, let alone the year.
  5. Seven points was on a defensive TD. The most points PNG has given in a single District game was against Nederland 16 and that was in a BIG TIME GAME. You L-Town people will face reality this Friday night. The dream season of winning District will end. I will and can say that Lumberton will make the playoffs this year for the first time in school history. Congrats when it happens.
  6. I have been following PNG football since the 99 State Runner-up Championship year. This years team is exactly what they are "A Team". They had their downs at the beginning of the season, but they learned from the loses and look at us now. (4-0) The game Friday night will be exciting. Lumberton must have a really good team this year in order to pull off 6 straight victories in convincing fashion. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE thought BigNed was going to beat PNG this last Friday, but look what happened. An undefeated team falling to the hands of the Mighty Indians. So guess what my prediction is this week, you guesed it, another undefeated going down. My Indians will take this one 28-14. To much Disipline defense for Lumberton's running game to handle.
  7. PNG has gotten a lot better on defense this year compared to last. The addition of a new defensive coordinator has help a bunch. He brings new sceams in every game. If LCM can't score from about the 50 yard line on one play then they will be shutout. The only reason I say this is because every TD given up by the defense has been over 40 to 50+ yards a play. In district games those kind of plays are hard to come by more than once or twice.IMO
  8. PNG defense will give the offense opportunities again, but will the offense show up? If LCM's defense plays 9 in the box and we can't throw the ball, it will be a long night at the Rez. for my Indians. I hate writing "IF" statements, but with PNG being so up and down this year it's almost a given. If my Indians can throw the ball Friday night and spread LCM's defense, the Bozo Bears will cry all the way back home with a 0-2 record in district.
  9. I couldn't have said this any better akifan94. PNG needs to work on the 5 to 10 yard passing plays. Work in a few over the middle to the WR's & TE's. Tatum has a very strong arm so lets use it with shorter pass plays. The one thing I would love for Tatum to do is to quit starring down receivers. Tatum throws a very good ball, he just needs to look at more than one receiver during a particuar play.
  10. Your right Asian Guy, throw in a few passes over the middle and PNG is in business. In order to have a passing game you don't have to throw the ball 30 yards down the field every time like in the Ozen game. Maybe a 5 or 10 yard out or a 10 yard slant over the middle. Add a screen play ever now and then and watch the opposing defense grumble. It is not rocket science. With the defense PNG has this year we could easly win district with just adding a few short passing plays to help open up our dangerous run attack. With all this said I believe PNG wins 28-7. The offense shows up this week.
  11. Coach Long, PNG could really use your offensive mind set right now. I
  12. You need to stick with predicting volleyball scores & outcomes. PNG wins by 28. Next week will be real ugly for the Blundering Bears @ the Rez.
  13. It might had been a little much to say the above post, but it was funny for me at least. As for as name calling, you need to take a few steps back and look in the mirror. You used a really poor choice of words, for I'm in the total opposite direction of the word DUMB. After Friday night, Lumberton will be wishing they were playing any local SE Texas JV team. The only way Lumberton could score 14 points would be that the 2nd and 3rd team players for Dayton were in. Good Luck L-Town, you will need it.
  14. With all honesty, I believe the JV Dayton team would whip-up on the Varsity L-Town team. I seen a few highlights on TV an Internet and L-town looks really small. How are they even going to compete? Dayton will win 42-14.
  15. The weather for the game Friday night is going to be awesome. With this being said, every turnover Ozen commits will be the doing of a mighty PNG Defense. This one will not even be close. PNG defense is hard to score on and the offense (since the change) will score at will. I'll say 35-7 PNG.
  16. This game will not even be close. PNG will win by two to three TD's and this is showing a little respect to the panthers. Ozen is never discipline and coach well these last few years and next Friday night you will see the same. The PNG offense everyone saw in the LM & Crosby game is gone. If the old Bread & Butter would have been in existance those nights we would be 3-0 right now. Our D has been good the whole year against great offensives excluding Silsbee. All you have to do is look at the points we have given up. (19, 7, 0)
  17. The beginning of this thread ask "Is Lumberton good??", my answer to that is NO!! They have played the same cupcake schedule just like the previous years and it keeps getting thier hopes up for a run at district. Once district starts next Friday the dream will be over for all you L-Town boys & girls. Seven weeks after next Friday night L-town will be traveling to a PNG, Nederland, or Central playoff game with thier school L-shirts in full spirt. It happens EVERY year. ;D
  18. Those averages came against a weak defensive team out of 3A. Dayton may have lost their QB for the season & maybe next, but he is just one player(very good player I might add). Football is a team sport and next Friday you Lumberton fans will once again cry in defeat within another district game. Dayton will win by 21pts. ;D
  19. News flash, when I was referring to the two Good Offense's, Silsbee wasn't one of them. Anyway your Tigers weren't running the veer Friday night, if they were, it had a little turnover mixed in.
  20. You make a good point Dave, but remember PNG's Defense averages less than 9 points given up in a single game. With this being the case the old "Bread & Butter" just needs to work for a few touchdowns a game. Also remember this point average is against three spread offense's, two of which were very good.
  21. 3A??? This is just like a L-Grad, always bringing up the past. You need to focus on today and that spells another losing season for the Raiders.
  22. Everyone keeps doubting PNG's offense. I know they haven't proven them self yet, but MB will be going away from the spread this week and points will be put on the board. I feel really sorry for Silsbee, because they will reek the punishment of PNG's power game.
