There will be lots of Burnt Orange in Houston.
Burnt orange and Maroon? Burnt orange and Purple/Gold?
Either way will have me seeing green. 😀 -
Ready to see who will be in the Texas bowl. I have 5 tickets that may increase in value. 😉
-
They will find a way to get a SEC team in there. They aren't going to leave out the greatest football conference. ðŸ˜

Where is #7 for Vidor? Rowe?

I only predict our boys to win IF they pull off a full game of play at the same intensity they played with for the first half against Ozen and GCM. Both games came down to a major comeback in the second half and a whole different Pirate team showed up in the second half.
We don't have the depth of other teams, that is the main reason for those second half comebacks as well as conservative play calling with the lead. We have to many kids going both ways. You really saw it last week in the second half. We had so many kids coming off the field with cramps and injuries. I just don't see us keeping it close late in the third and forth. That's when Central will start to pull away. Just my opinion and I would gladly take being proven wrong.
I hope these young Pirates take all this expierence they are gaining and put into next year. They have the potential to do big things in the next couple of years. -
they will be a playoff team next year no doubt
Don't put the cart before the horse. Let's get thru this year before making predictions about next year. This team is young and doesn't need unjust pressure placed upon them. Let them mature into the team they will be. Future is bright, but don't start heaping more expectations on them just yet. -
Yea I talked to 1 of the officials from the game Friday night and he stated that the biggest issue is a lack of depth, too many kids going both ways. That's pretty much how Ozen pulled it out and GCM almost did. Vidor was up 42-7 at one point. Said the final 2 point conversion attempt was similar to the way the Nederland/Central game ended. If the kid dives or stretches the ball out before his knee goes down, that game would have ended differently...
I wouldn't say the Ozen comeback was all due to our lack of depth. That's all I will say about that. -
I see this as a close game thru 2.5 qtrs. Central will eventually wear Vidor down and pull away late. Central's size and depth will be the difference. Vidor has too many kids going both ways. I agree that this Vidor team will make some noise, but they are a year away.
Central 48
Vidor 21
Prove me wrong Pirates. I would gladly accept it.- JollyRoger81 and studd88

Did they just say "elite A&M passing game"?
-
Has A&M made a 1st down yet?
Td Bama.
The rout is on. -
110,633 ppl saw this arse whoopin live in person.
And the millions watching at home. 😠-
I thought aggies never walked out on their team to beat the traffic. Looks to me like they're filing for the exits mighty early.
Looked like they were fighting each other to get out. -
You can say that again
I did. 😬 three times to be exact.
A&M was over-rated. Was being the key word here. -
I guess my phone felt it need to be said three times.
-
A&M being exposed. Way over-rated.

Wow. Aggies getting shredded. State may hang 50+ on them.

Where's that much improved Aggie D that shut down Arkansas last week?

The game was in Baytown I bet. Lol
It was. But the bogus calls didn't start until half way thru the 3rd. Thought Matthews was going to stroke out on the sidelines. -
Congrats on the win. But it did someone concerned me that you struggled against the weakest team in the district.
Not an excuse. Refs took 2 touchdowns off the board on bogus calls. A fumble in the end zone after the ball crosses the goal line on a QB sneak. And a holding call, flag was thrown at the line when the ball carrier was 30 yards down field. -
Please explain further Im a little curious about what happened on the fumble into the endzone.
First of all we scored the play before. The RB was called down at the 1/2 yard line. I have the picture that shows the ball three yards in the end zone bfforf his knees are down. I just don't know how to get it on here. Next play we run the QB sneak. Ball was not fumbled on the snap or anything. QB goes into the pilesnd is laying across the goal line. Refs come together and claim the ball was fumbled in the end zone, recovered by Lee for a touchback. That was the start of the questionable calls.
The craziest was the false start on 4th and 1. Vidor has the ball around there own 45. They decide to go for it. They break the huddle and line
up. They don't set, the QB pulls out from Center, the back ref plows is whistle to start the clock, which should have been done when the ball was set. The left guard stands up as a reaction to the whistle while the QB is not under center. Side ref throws a flag. All the refs come together, then announce to the crowd, no foul due to the inadvertent whistle. Lee coach goes wild and starts ranting. Refs come together again. Break up and talk to Lee coach again. Then the ref and side judge who threw the flag talk for about 3 minutes. The ref then signals false start and backs Vidor up 5 yards. Never seen anything like that before. -
I have just one question. How do you throw a flag, wave it off, consult with the opposing coach, then mark off for the flag? Never seen anything like that before.
The fumble in the end zone covered by Lee for a touchback on a QB dive, is another head scratcher.- prepballfan and Curelover32

That's correct. How's that for the tough SEC West?
