Da`Carlos Renfro received a crushing hit from his own team-mate. Let me tell you, there were allot of worried people in that stadium.  The only thing that I could hear was the flag pole clanging.  What a relief it was when we got the word that he was going to be OK. (WOS fans no-longer take "INJURIES" for granted.)
I KNOW! I was telling my wife about that damn flagpole. I'll be hearing it in nightmares.
  2. The officials were awful, but we won, so I can't complain. I think the ball was initially caught by Silsbee and taken away by WO-S, but the "blown call" wasn't what made the refs look stupid. It was the 10-minute discussion (in two parts) that they had about it, which pretty much showed that none of them was too clear on the rule. They waved off four flags. Four. The ref even let the WO-S crowd goad him into one intentional grounding call against Silsbee, which he rightfully waved off. Still. You're a professional.

Look man I really don't think schedules or any of that matters when these 2 get together yeah Silsbee gave up a lot of points against other teams that's been happening for years and really the reason we haven't advanced father in the playoffs but this years defense is a little different the offense will be fine as west orange will see people must not forget we beat ourselves against bridge city 6 ints and only 6 points and we still could have won with our backup quarterback if Silsbee runs more of a west coast type of offense against west orange and use their running backs correctly they will win
That's a bunch of "could'a would'a should'a" right there!!
My thing is sometimes some teams have all the big stats in the game and still not win stat we killed bridge city and they did not cross mid field the whole first half and we lost our QB in the first half we had costly penalties at the 2 yard line that stopped us from winning so that's on us it will be a defensive game and either of these teams could win west orange had lots of trouble with Hampshire fannet and orangefield too so this is an evenly matched game good luck to both teams
Something tells me BC's defense had a hand in that outcome as well. You make it sound sound like Silsbee played "The University of Phoenix On Line" and that the other team had no say in the outcome. No you didn't play your best game but did you ever think BC made the plays it needed to make in order to win the game?? The exact same thing can be said for BC against WO-S. The Mustangs did just enough to win and nothing can change that outcome no matter how you decide to rationalize it.

I kinda like his way of thinkin, Rake. That way, my Mustangs are undefeated. We beat BC, OF, HF, Kirbyville, and we beat WO-S three times!

This will be my first prediction of the season and i say WOS wins. Defense will shut their offense down and the score will depend on which Mustang offense shows up. I hate to say it, but we hear that this is BC's year every year that WOS doesn't beat everyone by 50 points. Remember folks, were only 10 points from being undefeated. Yeah, we may not be hanging 60 on people but we find a way to win. A win doesn't matter if its 1 or 100. I just really feel that there will be some heartbroken Cardinal fans come Saturday morning

Contradiction.....sure looks like it. A reply to this statement could go on for pages but for the sake of time and bandwith I'll just leave it short. These teams match up better than most will give credit. One would think that after the OF game most comments would center around preparing for a big game instead of dismissing a worthy opponent.

lmao  ;) glad i did not see it stay cool  8) brother

Not sure what your laughing at but if it makes you feel better more power to you. Also, thanks for the short response, much easier to read without all the red ink from the butchered grammar and -10's for spelling mistakes. ;D
Why is it that all of the spellcheckers on this site can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're?" If you're going to criticize grammar and spelling, you should probably get the basics right in your post.

You know critter maybe contact sports aren't bridge city's game, I know lets have a cross country meet!
Cross country would be a safer bet for WO-S than a math contest with questions like "when is your birthday?" ::)

    (my apologies, couldn't help myself)
.

You know, your comments are down right rediculous. I don't even have a reply. Others see your agenda so its not worth my time.
No Kicker, what is "rediculous" is your spelling! ;D No agenda here, just a jab at those who continue to throw crazy comments out there. I have been nothing but respectful when talking about the players and the game, go back and read the thread. I put one comment out there and all of a sudden I have an agenda? That's what is "ridiculous" (notice the proper spelling). Once your done reading the thread grab a ladder, get down off of your high horse, and quit taking yourself so seriously. What a joke.
Hello. I'm a WO-S graduate who would like to point out a run-on sentence (comma splice) and an improper use of the word "your." Put a period between "game" and "go" instead of a comma, and change "Once your done" to "Once you're done." I love how that came immediately after your "notice the proper spelling" comment. Awesomeness.

No prob...You can run up and down the football field all night, gaining yardage...But if you don't cross the goal line it don't matter..Stats don't win games,Points do... ;)
that's our problem....we move the ball good till the red zone, but can't punch it in :-[
If #33 got the ball more the win/loss column would look different IMO...But I'm just a fan,not the Coach... :)
He was really powerful and a tough runner, but he wore out pretty pretty quick.

Jasper showed they have no heart, when they got down they quit. It's one thing to get beat and that's fine but at some point you have to play with pride. Jasper has lacked heart for several years now hopefully the new coaching staff will look at who is giving 100% when things are bad, and call out the ones who are not....
I don't agree with that at all. Jasper was down 14-0 before either team had broken a sweat, and they put a scare into my Stangs in the first half. Both teams got pretty hot-headed there early, but I didn't see any quit - not until it was out of reach. In the end, they had no answer for Lindsey.
  8. And along those lines, Gas, we should tell him that it's WO-S, not W-OS.

The first year we ran the spread, 2001, we struggled. You probably weren't aware, being that it was six years before 2007. We were 5-5 (our first .500 or below season since 1982), and that was coming off of a 15-1 state runner-up team in 2000. It's a new offense. There's a period of adjustment. As someone who has followed WO-S more than "on and off" for FAR longer than four years, I believe we made the right hire.
  9. BEAUMONT — This season-opening thriller – Nederland 21, West Orange-Stark 20 – was decided on a roll, and not the roll of the dice.

With 24.6 seconds remaining, and with fans on both sides of the Provost Umphrey Stadium standing on their feet, wide receiver Michael Shaw hauled in an 8-yard pass from quarterback Carson Raines to cap a nine-play, 80-yard Nederland drive, pulling the Bulldogs to within one point of the Mustangs.

Then came the play that may wind one being one of Southeast Texas’ most talked about ones of the entire 2011 high school football season.

After a timeout, Nederland coach Larry Neumann shunned kicking an extra point that most certainly would have sent the game into overtime and went for the win. The Bulldogs were rewarded when sophomore running back Corey Hopkins latched on Raines’ pass into the right flat and rolled into the end zone.

That’s right – rolled or perhaps fell backward into the end zone for the decisive two points.

It appeared, you see, to many press box observes that Hopkins’ rear touched the artificial turf inside the 1-yard line before he rolled backwards into the north end zone.

Nonetheless, regardless of the somewhat controversial ruling, it certainly doesn’t diminish the effort the Bulldogs put into their near miraculous comeback from an early fourth-quarter deficit of 20-7.

West-Orange-Stark’s Cornel Thompson, who made his debut as legendary coach Dan Hooks’ successor before the crowd of about 8,500, certainly won’t dispute that.

“We weren’t able to put it away,” said Thompson. “We played hard, and we played well for the most part, but there were some plays on which we had poor execution. “We gave up a couple of big plays coming down the stretch, and you can’t do that and survive against a good team. We had them (the Bulldogs) on the ropes, then we let them up.

Yes sir, there gunna win state for the next 600 years there the best team ever man you haven't heard? They will beat Brookshire by 900 ya know? Well they might bench Lindsey in the 4th so it could be around 850 but wait they woulnt bench Lindsey because there startes stay in all 4 quarters no matter what so surely they got it by 900 points then the next week Lorena or Athens whichever one, better watch out because guess who's coming? WOS the best team in the world they should put up 7 to 8 hundred thousand points on Athens or Lorena on there way to a state championship in which they win that game 1000-0. GO MUSTANGS  ;)
LOL.... The JV has scored 42 of the points in the last two games.
