When I graduated from Tomball in '93, we were 6-4. My junior year we were 8-2. Before that Tomball went something like 20 years straight with playoff appearances. Since '93 only 3 winning records I think. Pretty embarrassing.

You’re right 3 winning seasons in the last 20 years, and 2 of them have Been the last two years. Things are on the right track for them. The splitting of the schools really hurt them.

  2. I agree with what you said about the list of applicants and who do you pick. Nelson could have been a good pick just as peevey could have been but what connection does he have with the program now and the kids now. If the season turned and they went 2-8 I would totally understand changing the entire regime. I am not bashing anyone or anyone's deductions or reasons just being the devils advocate to see why some people didn't like the choice.

Now the OC you are wrong about, he was a head coach for multiple years out of state before coming here. Flanigan was extremely hands off during the season and they did very well his year. So that reasoning you have is invalid for him

what makes Nelson the hire that would be best for Westbrook just curious, I don't know the man well but I know he had success but does that always translate from one school to another

again just another outsider looking wondering why some people are ecstatic peevey got the job and some are very upset

  3. Ok so u say he is terrible hire because the defense was bad and the offense was ridiculously strong. Pretty sure the offense was very good.  Then you say the offensive coordinator is even less qualified, that doesn't make sense going by your reason for saying peevey shouldn't get the job.

I believe you just wanted an outside hire that was a big splash. Problem is nobody wanted the job but a handful of people.

  4. Sadly it sounds like there are some people who have dogs in the fight and want their guys to get the job. I'm all about a fair process with the position hiring, but it sounds like this may be much more political then people think.

Also at a large job like this, people who are interested already know the position is open and have probably called the administrators and have been connected with the application

I would say that the "administrator" that is being spoken of has dealt with the coaches there on staff on a daily basis and probably know something we don't know. Possibly about the culture of the program, the way the kids react to them, or even that they are doing a great job with the program in the absence of a permant head coach

this team obviously had success this year, why are some people so  adamant about hiring from outside. I hope they give a coordinator the opportunity at the job with as much enthusiasm as some people are giving an outside hire.

i absolutly think the job should be opened fairly but I also hope the best man for the job would get it as well.

I know what the article states.  And I saw his interview already.  But I also knew that he was leaving weeks before it happened and why.

You seem to know a lot of inside information at west Brook? Are you a coach or a fellow co worker? Because to say that most of his co workers disagreed with him is quite a statement.

Maybe the man was just unhappy with some things including salary. How can anyone hate another for furthering their career and future. Nobody would question anyone else for taking another job for money/environment/family.

    Just thinking out loud.
