  1. Heard the game was postponed today due to someone not turning the sprinkler system off while the tarp was on the field
  2. PNG has block scheduling. As far as practices go it just changes the time of day each day that the team practices. I know with my son's schedule the downside is that all the easy classes are on one day of his schedule and all the tough classes are on the other.
  3. " as stated earlier....gosh I'm gonna miss her....lol " hmmmm.....I got rid of him......got to keep the season tickets......and the games are soooo much more enjoyable without him!!! It's not always the women who aren't the big high school football fans. Come to think of it I don't miss him at all, lol! Standing in line in the hot Texas sun to get PNG season tickets.....Price: Hours of your time and gallons of sweat. Enjoying great seats while watching all the spirit and pagentry of Texas High School Football.....PRICELESS!!! ;D
  4. Thanks for the kind words about how our PNG players conducted themselves after our loss. Losses are so hard to take. I think even harder to take the closer you are to the players. These are all life lessons and as with most life lessons they need to be taught from a very early age. As an educator and a parent I believe sportsmanship should be taught by parents from the time our little ones get interested in sports or any competition. I remember a very tough loss to a tough WOS team back in 1999. My oldest son was in first grade and our neighbor was on that PNG team. As we began our walk to our car after the game my son was angry and hanging his head. I promptly stopped walking and told him to look up at the PNG pressbox. I told him the words up there are not there just for decoration. You're a PNG Indian and you will hold your head up high and show your PRIDE no matter if we win or we lose. The players did their best so be proud of them. You will act with HONOR which means being humble when you win and being respectful when you lose. You shake your opponents hand and say "Good game!" That way our TRADITION will continue to be worthy of being passed down. He's now a freshman at PNG and I'm proud to say that I think our TRADITION is in good hands and will be for years to come.
  5. Not sure where you were sitting Big House, but I was screaming so much I gave myself a headache!
  6. Thanks to all our fellow 22-4A teams who came out to support our Indians tonight! I saw Nederland, Dayton, Lumberton, etc. there in the wet and cold. We greatly appreciate your being there and cheering our boys on with us tonight. Wish we could have brought home a 22-4A sweep, but it wasn't meant to be. Good luck to Dayton and Lumberton as they go forward and show the rest of the state what an AWESOME district 22-4A is.
  7. Packing up the rain gear and the kids and heading there in 2 hours myself! INDIANS WE BELIEVE IN YOU!! ;D
  8. Matt Burnett became the winningest coach at PNG after the victory over Central Friday night. He went into the game tied with Doug Ethridge. Imagine how special it was for him to get that win with his son on this team. I saw his son walk over and hug his dad durning the final countdown of the game. What a special moment to get to share with his son. Congrats to Coach Burnett! ;D
  9. PNG season ticket holders have the option of buying all the away games or just the ones they want to purchase. I purchase all of the games so I already have my tickets and am planning on heading out as soon as school ends on Friday!
  10. Wow! So many memories to choose from. Beginning with stepping out on that field at halftime my soph. year (before fresh. were at the high school). The nerves and yet that great feeling of PRIDE that overwhelms you. Beating Nederland 49-0 our senior year. Then the tears flowing that last halftime my senior year and the tears shed at graduation. I'm lucky that not only did I get to experience those memorable times as a student, but now as a teacher and parent I have gotten the chance to share it all over again. Nothing beats hearing your son's name said by Tip Durham when he's made a great play! Sure going to miss the old stadium and all the wonderful memories it holds, but the memories will remain with us forever. Looking forward to all the new memories to be made in the new stadium!
  11. I didn't intentionally do anything to get my sons to love Cherokee. Matter of fact my oldest was one day old and crying in the hospital and a relative sat in the rocker and started singing Cherokee and he quit crying. Guess it was just passed down in his genes, lol!
  12. Marty was an awesome man who was taken too soon from this earth. Harrison, his younger brother Grant and their sister Elizabeth are all awesome kids. I'm so glad this article ran. Maybe now people will realize that the boys playing football also have lives outside that can and will impact their game. The Tatum kids are a living memorial to their dad and the wonderful values they were given by both of their parents.
  13. PNG has the prettiest tunnel, but Vidor has the scariest looking tunnel, lol.
  14. The RAIDERS will WIN against PNG!!! "We will Pursue, We will gang tackle"!! " Lose you will!"......Yoda
  15. Has anyone put that clip on youtube? I'd love to see it again!
  16. I feel sorry for Ozen this coming week. Nederland is a great team. I say Nederland will win and win big this coming week. Looking forward once again to PNG and Nederland making a trip to the playoffs! Go Dogs!
  17. I was talking to a player this afternoon at a junior tackle game, and I totally agree with him. I hope everyone continues to downplay PNG's ability. I hope PNG continues to listen to what is said and then prove it wrong on the field. With that said I pick PNG to defeat Lumberton in a close game. Scalp 'EM!
  18. Interesting thing is...that last PNG win over Nederland.....happened AT Nederland to a Nederland team that we weren't supposed to beat, lol MCM...only one place to be found and the day is finally here. So best of luck to our bulldog friends and from my mouth to God's ears please keep all our boys playing tonight safe. Scalp 'em!
  19. The only exception being that Lumberton has to play PNG at the Reservation!
  20. PNG Freshman "B" 32 Nederland 6 PNG Freshman "A" 29 Nederland 27
  21. I'd love to bring up the fact that those years are ALL losses for Big Ned, lol! IMO My favorite was 1982 my senior year and the score was 49-0! :
