Isn't Lion70 the same one who said WOS would have a chance in yalls district? Lol
Yes, he is hating on the Dawgs for knocking Henderson out. He must be sipping on Corn Whiskey!!

Good first half by Stafford, they have speed as advertised. Go Dawgs!!!

Carthage can ill afford to take a break against Stafford but I think they are built for this one.
Gonna have to keep it under 35 to win though, imo.
Give me Carthage by 7
Carthage 31
Stafford 24
Thanks for the support, tough game against Silsbee. Tyler is an outstanding running back, very fun to watch athletes like that.

It will be fun to see what happens in this one, Carthage has given up yardage to good running backs in a few games this year. But good backs will be able to make the plays that hurt you, fortunately we are still in the playoffs. Lion70 is upset because the great back on his Mighty Lions team had success with running the ball, yet Carthage managed to win that game. That is why he is just a little bitter when it comes to discussing this game. This game should be a good game to watch, I will be there supporting Carthage. Go Dawgs!!!

Who are you picking to win this game?

Good game Silsbee, Tyler is a beast. I applaud Silsbee for coming back and taking the lead, a few on Smoaky thought it was over after Silsbee gained the momentum. Tough loss, but you have to be proud of the Tigers for coming back and scoring 14 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to make it a 1 score game.

Ingram can be very dangerous, as we have seen this year. Silsbee knocked him out of the game early last year, so we did not get to see what he could have done. It will be fun to see what this year's game brings. Silsbee92, this is my 2nd post on this thread but thanks for the invite on Smoaky. Go Dawgs!

With Hendo probably playing Sat I just might have to make the drive to Abe for this one. Hope the Carthage folks wont mind an island of blue in their sea of red.
As long as you don't yell Go Tigers, an island of blue is welcome to join in on the sea of red party.

Carthage is gonna have problems with the La Vega defense.
It seems like they do not give up too many points per game, plus they are undefeated. We shall see what next week brings, it is time for me to drink beer and celebrate the victory tonight. It's too late for me to think about the next game.

Good game Silsbee, you left it all on the field tonight. Fantastic job by a great team. You deserved to be in this contest, thanks for an exciting game.

Suppose to be high 30s - low 40s in Tyler, layer up.
It will be great football weather, but the layers will probably have to come off once the game gets interesting.

Drowning Pool's "Let the bodies hit the floor" is what comes to my mind when I think about tonight's game. Gonna be a hard hitting game tonight! Go Dawgs!

49 to 35 is my prediction for the final score, Dawgs win by 14. Go Dawgs!

If the information is correct on the Waco Tribune-Herald and MaxPreps websites, La Vega beat China Springs 20 to 7 and awaits the winner of tomorrow nights game. Go Dawgs!

1 day and a few hours to game time, it will be hard to focus tomorrow at work. It will be a good chilly night for some Tiger soup. As long as we minimize mistakes and play our game defensively, we will be OK. I have enjoyed reading and responding to comments on SETX, even though football was not always the conversation. Like I have said before, I will be on here to congratulate your team either way. The Silsbee fans have not personally attacked me, and I have respect for the manner in which you have conducted yourself.....who knows, maybe you just ignored all my posts. Lol Either way it turns out tomorrow, either team has a tremendous amount to be proud of. There are too many teams that would like to be playing playoff football still, we both knocked off 2 teams that have made runs to the championship game that would like a chance at making it back to the big game. Go Dawgs!

I.....I believe.....I believe that....I believe that we.....I believe that we will win, I believe that we will win, I believe that we will win, I believe that we will win......... 75633 C Town where my Dawgs at....get ready to hear the Dawg Pound barking and cheering on the Dawgs from C Town. Silsbee is fast and has several weapons, and the defense will hit you hard from what was posted. All I can say is, you better not run East and West and try to make the cut to the outside, because you will get hammered quick. The passing game will be possible if you can keep a few lineman and linebackers out of the backfield chasing down your quarterback, I have seen it happen several games this year. Go ahead and say that Carthage has not played a team quite like Silsbee yet, I expect that kind of comment with very little reasoning supporting your statement. Carthage has no problem playing smash mouth football, we have several Seniors that had a impact in the state game in 2013 and have gained valuable experience the last 2 years under Mr Scott Surratt. Both teams have proved that they are tough or they would not be playing this game, you just have to bring some to get some. I stand by my Dawgs winning this one by 14. Go Dawgs!

I came on SETX to support Carthage and have fun with Silsbee fans since there is not much Silsbee support on Smoaky. I will never take offense to the comments that are put on a message board, it might be a different story if someone were to call me an arrogant Carthage fan face to face. It is easy to say someone is an idiot by reading their post but you will never know until you meet that person and have a chance to get to know that individual. I would say the same thing to your face as what I what I put on here. My beliefs and opinions, as well as other people beliefs and opinions, are set in stone and cannot be changed. The team that you support feeds off your support during the game, what gets put on here gets filed as trash talk Friday at 7:30. I wish Silsbee players and fans safe travels, see you at Tyler Rose stadium. 2 more days and we get to see who gets the biggest helping of crow. Go Dawgs!

Ignorance is bliss! I still believe the topic at hand should be about football. Go Dawgs!

Carthage Ranking: National-484 / State-62 / State Division-3 / Region-13
Silsbee Ranking: National-1198 / State-149 / State Division-14 / Region-38
Carthage and Silsbee both improved their rankings by winning last Friday night, this information came from MaxPreps.
Team Scoring Averages
Carthage Q1 8.5 Q2 12.4 Q3 8.2 Q4 5.4 0T1 6.0 Total 34.9
Silsbee Q1 11.2 Q2 13.4 Q3 17.2 Q4 12.0 Total 48.4
Silsbee leads the scoring average category, which supports the fact that they have the ability to score and have maintained a pretty good average for all 4 quarters. We proved last week that we have the ability to put up a big score, even after committing 4 turnovers. I understand that this is one of the best teams that Silsbee has had in years, great job to Silsbee. Silsbee scored 42 while Carthage put up 55 last week, that is why I am picking Carthage by 14. We shall see what happens on Friday night. Go Dawgs!

I am confused with the conversations on here: practice, indoor facilities, giving jobs to recruit players, basketball, and baseball. What will we talk about next, soccer perhaps? We are 3 days away from a big football game and there is not very many valid points that prove why you think that Silsbee wins. You are too caught up on thinking that Carthage just feels like they are better and look down on Silsbee. U-Know was right when he stated "On Friday night, when you look across the field, you will see, stands full of your average hard working middle class families. People who work hard day in and day out to provide for their families." I am proud to be from Carthage and be a part of a good football run the last 6 years or so, Carthage people have not always had good teams to watch but have always been supportive. We all know that it's more fun to follow a winning team and tend to complain when things are not going our way. As I have said before, this will be a game played by 2 teams that have earned the right to be here and have a chance of winning this game. I have no doubt that Silsbee will have some success and play hard, they are a very fast and aggressive team. I just have to support Carthage and believe that what progress they have made every week, they will come out on top on Friday night. Go Dawgs!

Carthage will win by 14, it will be close the first half and then the 2nd half Carthage will be too much. If and when I am wrong, I will be man enough to admit it and congratulate Silsbee. Carthage's O and D lines will simply wear out Silbee's lines. We all know that defense wins big games, and Carthage's defense has gotten better every week and will be the difference in the game. The Carthage quarterback weighs more than most of your guys, I was not very impressed with the size of Silsbees O and D lines on the videos that I watched on MaxPrep. Silsbee definitely has impressive speed that will create havoc on several plays on offensive and defense, but Carthage has too many weapons that you will not be able to contain. Good luck. Go Dawgs!

I I generally refrain from making predictions on a point spread, especially on the football side, especially in a case like this where I really know little about the opponent other than a comparison on common opponents. High school age young men make this even more unpredictable. Too many possibilities. I hope this is a good safe game for all involve. As far as these predictions of a Carthage blowout, I will be surprised if that happens. This offense is just too good and too explosive for that to happen. Maybe defensive wise we are a little weaker but we did make some key plays. What kind of game do I expect? Another high scoring game where the outcome isn't clear until well into the second half. Maybe the score will be like our score vs WOS and the point spread will be a little wider than the game indicated most of the way through it and maybe it will be another like both these teams played last week. Hopefully it will be a good clean, safe game where officiating isn't questionable and the team who plays better wins. If it ends up being Carthage....congratulations but this years Tigers deserve a lot more respect than some of you are showing. Good luck and safe travels to all! Oh. And Let's Goooo Tigers!!
Silsbee has my respect that they have earned this year. Carthage did not look that good at the beginning of the season and I figured they would get knocked out the 1st or 2nd round. They proved me wrong and we are deep in the playoffs again. I hope the fans all have safe travels, see everyone at the game. Go Dawgs!

How do you like our defense now? Not bad when you shut out an explosive Stafford offense for 2 quarters. You gotta bring some to get some! Please keep pulling against Carthage, it worked pretty well for us this game. One game at a time! Go Dawgs!!!
