3 game split series this weekend with game 1 being at A&M and games 2,3 being held in Austin.  Ut is playing better baseball as of late, while A&M has lost 7 out of their last 9 games after being ranked #2 in the country. This series is always fun no matter what the records.  This could be the last time they play a conference series for a long time. 

7-5 Baylor sweeps the series

6-5 Baylor leads in the 7th.  Ags on the verge of being swept.

Calallen won 7-1.  Calallen's #2 Mando Arevelo had a no hitter through 6 and out dueled UT signee Courtney Hawkins. The road to the 4a State title looks like it once again goes through Corpus. [Hidden Content]

5a #1 and #7 Nationally Corpus Christi Carroll will play 4a #1 and #6 Nationally ranked Corpus Christi Calallen today at 3.  Calallen is coming off of their fist loss to district rival CC Moody.  This game could pit 2 of the best pitchers in the state and UT signees against each other.  Should be a good one, even if it's just a non district game. [/quote] I think the UIL should just set the rules and everyone go by them to avoid confusion.  Half of the time the coaches don't even know the rules( ex. HF & BC a few years ago).  Same goes for the tiebreaker rules that they are dealing with in softball now with 20-4a having tiebreaker rules for everything but 4th place??? If the state had uniform rules on these things it would be much simpler for everyone to keep up with.

Baylor has won 22 straight games and is now 16-0 in conference. They now have a 4 game lead on A&M and UT with both teams losing tonight. Baylor made a believer out of me tonight.  They were very patient at the plate and had base runners in every inning.  You do that consistenly and sooner or later you will score some runs.  The Ags have now dropped 3 straight games, and will have to figure something out the next 2 days on the road in Waco.
