It is nice to see Nederland ranked so high this early in the year, but in my opinion they are ranked a little to high.  These early polls are really tough with all of the teams playing teams of different talent levels, some from different states and even different countries now.  D1 athletes win state titles, which Nederland has very few if any.  Their defense will keep them in every game and will get them a long way in the playoffs.  As for Vidor, Nederland matches up very well with them and will beat them head to head IMO.  Vidor will make noise again in the playoffs, but their running game defense is Nederland's strength. I'm a Nederland graduate and homer, but I'm also realistic and honest.  I would rank Nederland around 15th in state and anything more than 3 rounds deep would be a bonus.  I ranked them 5th in our poll on here behind the 2 5a's, Dayton, and WOS by the way.

Two top 5 teams in state going head to head.  This one should be a great matchup.  Should benefit both teams in the long run.  Hopefully I can make the trip to watch this one.

The Nationals have the best have record in the NL and will now be without their best pitcher for the rest of the year. What do yall think about maybe giving up a shot at a WS Championship?

This should be a battle between 2 of the top 10 teams in the state.  We will find out how good Nederland really is. Who wins and is anyone making the trip?

He went 4.2 tonight only allowing 2 hits and 0 runs.  He will be in an Astros uni soon enough.  They have to do something to putt some butts in seats.
