I heard WB was already hosting a playoff series next week.

Lots of people I know are staying tuned into this one. It's a great game. Thanks for the play by play.

We will only let you have 50% of the credit. What better tune up could we have found prior to running into teams like Klein Oak, Brenham, and PNG in our half of the bracket. A great Bridge City team (not to mention a local team) to prepare our hitters and pitchers.
It will be a great game. Sometimes tune up games are quiet and boring. I think this will be different.

Since 3amagic is livin in the past i guess i will too... yeah BC did come ready to play last year against the bears congrats on that but if im not mistaken the bears have came out with the "W" more often then the cardinals in past meetings... so with that said is that not reason enough to just go ahead and say that the bears are the better of the 2?
No one from our side ever said the bears were a better team. I read earlier this year that the bears had won 19 of the last 20 meetings with the cardinals. The poster did add that he could be off one or two. We all know that record, although an impressive stat, is an irrelevant stat when it comes to this years game that might be played.
I see both teams won last night which inches them both closer to being able to pull the trigger on playing a game. I also see and have heard that LCM would like to play (them) a local team a home and away. (or maybe even at Lamar)
Maybe if both can win today this arrangement can be made.
ps (I also heard from one of our coaches that we have Lamar reserved for a tune up game)

Wasn't Jake Rowell 1st team DH last year.

good luck to you as well.

There are several 3a schools LCM could combine with and still be 4a. I believe WOS would be one of them. I would guess there are no 3a schools PNG could combine with and still be 4a.
-
That is why there are five classifications, so that schools play other schools with similar enrollments.
PNG and LCM's success in the playoffs has been against other schools with the same enrollment. I must be missing your point.

Swarm,
We are just happy we have gone from the whippin child of southeast texas baseball to contending for a playoff spot every year.
first quarter century 2 or 3 playoffs, 5 or 6 post season wins
Last 12 years 11 playoffs including six district champs if we can win another district game or two, closing in on 50 post season wins
Our coach does not claim to be the best, he just wants his kids to do well and remeber their time with lcm baseball as an important part of their young lives.
-
onebaseballguy,
I do not remeber Chris Boozer hitting a homerun at Central. He is a good player and would be a starter for most teams in the district, but I think some of your stats might be a bit off.

Why isn't BC playing Sat.?
-
Didn't these two teams play this weekend. I know it is not an important game. I am just wondering how it went. How did HC look?
-
I couldn't agree more. The smart money is still on PNG.

300 wins in 12 seasons and well over 40 playoff wins. Looks like we don't need an excuse for anything very often. Go ahead and post your midcounty team's win totals on here for the past decade.

Midcountymadness
I think he is a good player, but 2nd best in Southeast Texas?
For example: If he played at PNG
1. Harwood
2. Powell
3. Mire
4. McGinnes
5. Sparks
I would tend to agree with this assesment. I believe if he were at LCM he would be their #3,4, or maybe even 5. Just by this being a thread people are giving the topic more credit than it deserves. How can so many people leave Serna off their list. Didn't he beat the defending state champ.

LCM got out play , the bulldogs won't let it happen at home .the only way they can win is by the umpires help.
LCM 6 hits Ned 4
LCM 4 BB Ned 4
LCM Pitchers 7Ks Ned 3
LCM 2 e's Ned 3 plus 2 run scoring past balls
LCM coach's stayed in the game Ned did not
LCM 3 runs Ned 2
Could you explain to me which part of the game Ned out played LCM? When you have a terrible umpire most times the more mentally tough team wins.
-
How about Clayton Ehlert. I think 7 innings this week against 2 tough district teams. 0 runs, maybe 2 hits and I think something like 14 strikeouts. And I am sure he had some offensive stats too, but I am not sure.
-
All I can say is if there are any LCM players on this board posting they better hope Coach Griff does not find out. I have been through this program before and such activities in the past were not treated nicely.

Cloeren's future looks very bright. The Doctors said that the surgery went great and he begins rehab next week. Several players in the area have had this surgery and have all returned to top form. PNG-Powell, Ned-Brauninger, LCM-Womack and Adams. Ambort and LU just had it done and will likely be drafted next season.
Pretty Impressive?

LCM will throw three or four pitchers at Crosby and three or four pitchers at BC. The purpose of a tune up game is to get your pitchers and hitters ready for the do or die games in the coming weeks.
