It will be a tough game. Jasper has a young team, Crockett has an even younger team. But Crockett is their district's champion. Crockett has their number one pitcher fresh and ready to go. Jasper pitched their number one Friday night. Edge to Crockett. Jasper has more recent playoff experience and will take the game to Crockett. Edge to Jasper. Jasper wins 6-5 in a close, hard fought game.

Good game Dogs! You came through when you had to. Hudson won tonight, so all three 18-3a teams play in the next round.

Looks like 21-3a is also kinda good.

I agree. Jasper has talent year in and year out that many schools only dream of having occasionally. Just because the talent level is not that of 2002 does not mean there is not talent there. The 2002 team was not a Jasper team of the decade in my opinion. It was a Jasper team of the last 100 or so years that Jasper has played football. The key is finding a coach who can properly adapt to the particular talent that is there in any given year. Somthing like Barbay does over in Newton year after year.

I took it as a joke. Anyone that has seen Parker play knows that he can unleash the power at any moment.

When you consider that Jasper graduated all its starting pitchers, and consider all the injuries to key players, and consider that the district includes two of the best teams in Texas supposedly, I think Jasper has done pretty well. It remains to be seen of course if they will advance very far in the playoffs, but they almost certainly have laid the foundation for even better years in the near future.

You guys should play Bridge City... He said he wanted a warm up game. BC would be a war. ;D Thats the best kind of baseball! ;D I second that....It sure would be nice to see another one at Vincent Beck!!!!!!!!!! I hope so. It could happen if some of Jasper's young guys really step it up. I hear they have been improving a lot in the past few games.

Jasper beat Diboll 11-1 in five. Another great outing by Derek Sowell. Now, the Center game is strictly a warm-up game. Rest the starters, give the bench some playing time!

This was my first Jasper baseball game to see this year. They looked pretty good as they clinched their third place playoff spot tonight. The rumor is that they will be playing Bullard, time and place to be decided.
