  1. I don't remember what I said. I said a lot of things recently poking fun at the fans giving Jasper "no chance". Most things I said was meant to be taken as polite sarcasm. If anyone was offended, I apologize. Thank you for for your positive comment about Jasper. But here is how I picked the game in the "Pickems". I think I was the ONLY one on this Board to stand up for the Dogs on the "Pickems". This game was surely a shocker to those people not watching Jasper lately, but it was not a shocker to the Jasper team and the fans who have been watching them get better and better every game and every week. 2. yes, the Bullpups are calling him out! Praise Bailey, Praise Spikes, Praise Bailey, Praise Spikes And Bailey did not even have one of his better shooting nights and the little Dogs STILL won! Yes, AAW you did disrespect the Dogs and the entire 18-3a district. You probably still think they could not have made the playoffs out of 21-3a? Well go ahead and pick against the Dogs for tomorrow. Eventually you will get it right. To the Silsbee players and other fans: You all were great. Great team. Great season. Be proud of what you accomplished.
  3. I am off to the games. Good luck to everyone except Silsbee.
  4. This is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing. Do not post if you cannot form a sentence. And, don't make this a "black thing" - it's an "uneducated thing". I have heard plenty of people who are not black from rural areas and southwest Louisiana speak and write this way. A little humor and irony never hurts anybody. It is not a "black" thing, and it is not necessarily an uneducated thing. I see horrible grammar and spelling posted on these boards from people that I KNOW have college degrees. That disturbs me much more than someone using creative language to poke fun at some of these ridiculous posts.
  5. it means the poster is trying to move the thread to the top of the board so other will notice it. a polite way to say tt ;D.

  7. no kidding? but that was HJ. couldn't happen to Silsbee.
  8. and Hudson has no football players. HJ takes this one.
  9. no, they started baseball on the bus tonight.
  10. not even one FT. >
  11. If one keeps picking against a team, the odds are he will eventually be right. ;D
  12. that is right. save the gas. >
  13. but not that much....
  14. It may be worse than 40 points this time. :'( Silsbee 212 Jasper 8 Since everyone else is just giving Silsbee the game, I might as well too. : 92, this is the most realistic post you have EVER made.
  15. only if he was playing for Silsbee.
  16. It may be worse than 40 points this time. :'(
  17. Thanks. This was a HUGE win for Jasper. This is the furtherest by far that they have ever advanced to my knowledge. Certainly in the past 50 or so years. Is this the transformative year for Jasper? Don't know, but it IS the coach's second year. I think the team has been transformed just from the time of their first district game with Hudson. Jasper has lost only two games since that time.
  18. Huntsville dominated some folks in their district!
  19. Just heard that since this board has already given the game to Silsbee, Jasper, in an effort to economize, will forfeit a game that is already lost. yep, turned in their uniforms at Huntsville before they got on the bus. > :'(
  20. well, when all those teams play against each other all those games, someone has to lose. Somebody has to have a "bad" record. Look at the scores. Even Hudson had some narrow games against some of these teams, especially Carthage. For example: Hudson 61 Carthage 58 My point is if you took 8 teams identical to Silsbee and/or HJ in the same district, some of them would have to rack up some losses. The rules do not let them play to ties. At least that is the way it has always seemed to me.
  21. Yes, Hudson, Center, Jasper and Huntington, but that is not the order they finished regular district. The finish was: Hudson and Jasper tied for first, Center in third, and Huntington was one game behind Center. If Huntington had taken care of business with Carthage they would have tied with Center for third. Carthage, Rusk, and Diboll all played some VERY close games against the "top four". Here are their records: DISTRICT 18-3A thru FEBRUARY 17 1. Hudson (12-2, 21-6) 1. Jasper (12-2, 24-8) 3. Center (10-4, 23-8) 4. Huntington (9-5, 23-9) 5. Rusk (5-9, 19-13) 6. Carthage (4-10, 9-17) 7. Diboll (4-10, 16-15) 8. Central (0-14) link for more detailed scores: [Hidden Content]
  22. I would say that 18-3a was 7 teams deep. Huntington finished fourth in spite of being state ranked earlier in the year. They put a 20 point whipping on the still playing Hudson. Carthage and Rusk had excellent young teams and gave some of the top teams fits. In fact you used to sing Carthage praises, always picking them to beat Jasper. Diboll also played the top teams close many times. Center finished third but still edged out the highly respected district champion Crockett in the playoffs. btw, no offense toward your third place WOS, but weren't they knocked out of the playoffs in the first round while all of the 18-3a teams are still playing tonight? I think that speaks volumes about the depth of 18-3a.
  23. Jasper went through a war in 18-3a. Some of the games they played against the fourth through seventh place teams were clearly far tougher than the two playoff games they have played against teams from other districts. There was only one "gimme" on the entire district schedule. District 21-3a clearly has two teams stronger than any in 18-3a. But you may not believe this, but there are some folks that think that TOP TO BOTTOM, 18-3a was a tougher district this year than 21-3a. Now THAT ought to get some folks riled up. ;D
