We had a good JV team last year and the sophomores went to the varsity. We have a large freshman class that makes up our varsity. This is not the norm.

The reason for newton giving up so many points was because our young players were not lining up right. Having played only one game hurt us. This will be corrected and Newton’s defense will only get better. This team will only get better as the this year goes on.

Woodville is a good team, they just can’t get over that hump to be a great team.
