Well I coached Jr League Football, and didn’t realize until now that it qualifies me to give constructive criticism to the Raider staff.  For instance, when playing Vidor their pass defense did a wonderful job.  The Pirate receiver was covered, but they let Pirate RB’s run free.  One broke loose for 8 yards once.  Yes, need to tighten up that DL.

Hey, got on my 2018 Raider Basketball Playoff jersey.  Today I’m a Raider and Dist 10 fan.

    Go Raiders!

    Go Lions!

Coach, "Mayor" and Raider Fan, this bandwagon is loading up.

With all due respect, you may be confused on the front and the coverage. And they do have decent talent in the D line, but I don’t think it’s the best in the last 10 years.

Please elaborate on when you have seen a better D-line unit. Not sure what year you may be referencing.

Idk. That’s a tough call to make. I was the booth announcer for those 07 08 teams. Saw a lot of football from those kids.

Teams are similar with quality running games. 22 teams seems to have improved QB/WR play.

Defense was solid in 07-08 with Hanna and Beard leading the way. The main difference is the improved coaching, the ability to mix the run and pass equally and create points in a variety of ways.

I sure hope so. Honestly, the stiffer the competition, the better prep for district though. Two gimme’s in a row not necessarily the best to get ready for when it counts.

A little confidence goes a long way, L-town is in no position to load up on a stiff pre-season schedule. Depth will always be an issue, lets get to district as healthy as possible. "Smashmouth" football is not Lumberton's forte, but I do get your point.

  5. Raiderfan4life made some very interesting observations and is not far off from reality. The fact that Lumberton came in with really high expectations and appear to be under performing, is cause for concern. I attended the HF game and saw a team that did not play with much passion and sense of urgency, players and coaches alike. My guess is Lumberton will be just fine once district starts and will finish 2nd or 3rd, LCM will win the district.
