  1. Jacob Felts-Orangefield; Only a sophomore and will get better
  2. There is no set rule for tie-breakers, the UIL leaves it up to each District to decide. Most districts will either use an 18 or 15 point cap to determine margin of victory. They also have to determine how they are going to seed for playoffs based on ties for district record. Either you eliminate the big school rep and go head to head or you use the point differential to determine seeding. The most sense makes to eliminate the big school rep and then go head to head, but it depends on each district.
  3. I would think that you take PNG out of the equation, since they will go big school and then you have a head to head match up, but I'm not familiar with the DEC rules on that so if that's the case, then I stand corrected.
  4. Dayton goes as the winner only if Nederland gets in; If Dayton beats PNG and Lumberton beats Nederland, then Dayton would be the runner up as a result of their loss to Lumberton.
  5. If it's in a tournament, sometimes it can not be helped; you just have to play the games as they are scheduled...I think you would not intentionally schedule a district opponent for a Tuesday game, however, sometimes it's a question of having to play up (or down a classification) vs. giving your team a chance to get the competition that will get them ready for district..Personally, I like playing other teams from around the area in non-district and tournament games...
  6. Actually is does not...I have no idea what you're talking about...
  7. I really wonder what is going on in Kville...Letting kids play that are supposedly in trouble with the law or school administration and the vulgarity of the music (superman that H_)that was played over the loud speaker.....who's really in charge up there anyway? As for the on the field efforts, OF took it to Kville...Kville's defense is Poo-poo, with or with out the kid they call poo-poo....They have a great passing scheme, but with out P.R. they're running game is suspect...Personally, I think it'll come down to HF, Jasper and Silsbee for the 2nd and 3rd spot...
  8. Calling JV offense one year at a small hs and a couple of running plays had gotten stopped and he yells out "You can't run the ball, Pass it..." Then when it's time to pass and the ball goes incomplete, the same man yells, "You can't pass the ball, Run it..." Don't hear alot from the stands during the game, but that was one of the funniest....
  9. But if you wait until 1/29/08, you'll be about 4 days late....Teams can start on Friday 1/25 for the upcoming year....
  10. Silsbee is not in this tournament...They are going to Orangefield that weekend...
  11. Hempstead is a 2A school and they only had 14 healthy kids last Friday and of those 14 only 4 were offensive linemen....No need in taking your kids to Giddings to get embarrassed...You have to do what is best for your program, not the other team that you are playing...If Coach Seargent would have had enough linemen, they would have played....
  12. Ryan is done as far as this football season goes...He broke both bones in his leg and he'll be in a cast for 6 weeks then he'll begin rehab....Hopefully, he'll be back in time for baseball...great kid, sorry to hear about this....
  13. No, by golden I meant Good as Gold....It's nice to see parents involved in a positive way in their childs life....
  14. Congrats to Alex...he is a great kid and his parents are golden......
  15. Congrats to Cody....He will make a good head coach...he'll have those pitchers going that's for sure....
  16. I talked to the Rogers coach yesterday who is one of the South coaches for the 1-3A game and he had just come in from practice, he was very impressed with both Dishon and Calhoun...he repeated the sentiments of 21-3A being the toughest in the state...Good Luck to both of these gentelmen as they represent our district and good luck to all of our SE Texas representatives...
  17. Tim Ferguson, WB, 3rd Team 2nd Base....Congrats...
  18. The 5A team is posted and the 4A team is blank which probably means check back later today and it'll be posted...THSBCA.com
  19. There are 2 different all state teams...the one that is picked by the THSBCA and the one that is picked by the sportswriters...the all star team and all state team are nominated by the coaches picked by the THSBCA officers...yes the all star team has been picked and is out, the all state team was picked at the state tournament and will be out soon....The all state team that is picked by the sportswriters, while they are often similar, has nothing to do with the THSBCA...
  20. The THSBCA officers met at the state tournament to pick the all state team...one thing is for sure, if a player was selected to play in the all star game then they are on the all state list, so from district 21-3A we know for sure that Dishon and Calhoun were both all state selections. Try the THSBCA website, they usually have this information.
  21. I don't have the full team with me, but I'll do my best to try to piece it together..... MVP-Reagan (Jasper) Newcomer-Statum (OF) Co-Defensive MVP-Hicks (BC); Hargrave (Silsbee) 1st team catcher-Felts (OF); Jackson (BC) That's what I can remember...don't want to say unless I'm sure...these are the only ones I'm sure of....
