  1. ??? Over some one else? No no no. Could you imagine watching both on the same team???? (Felts and Parker) One catching and the other DH!! Switch off each game or so. That would be a nice situation to have ;D

  3. Who said in any way I was affiliated with any "Bulldogs" in this area??? I'm just stating facts...Plus, I'm a Katy HS grad......we're not worthy!!!!Quiet everybody, there's a Tiger in the house...... [move]I STILL HATE KATY....I RESPECT THEM, BUT I HATE THEM![/move] I guess that's appreciated....Coach Joseph was the DC when I played and it's always nice to see the good guys in the coaching profession win... What year did you come out? I graduated in 89 and my brother was 93 So you were in the program when KT was on their way up. I respect them. They have such a great program over there, and I'm very envious of that....but I gotta tell ya, I'm sick of seeing them winning all the time! I would love to see somebody else do it. Coach Joseph has done a great job of maintaining and improving on an already great program. KUDOS! Yes, we moved there before I was in the 8th grade, that year they were 1-9, then 4-6 my freshman year and 10-1 my sophomore year. That was '86..haven't had a losing season since and their worst season since then was '87 when we were 5-5, then were 9-2 in '88 (my sr. yr)and have made the playoffs every year since.
  4. Coach Louis is not going anywhere....especially to PA. He tried the HC thing once, and it didn't work out so well. He's said he's happy at WB, and has no desire to go anywhere else. Good things to come from the Brook in a few years. You're probably right 82, I just threw that out there because of their relationship going back to the opening of Ozen...

  7. play defense, grind it out and wait for the big play cause it's gonna happen...typical Katy football
  8. Gotta agree with you admin...They will spread it out on long situations, it's amazing to see how this offense has evolved over the last 20+ years...All the basics are still there though-power, toss, lead, 3 step drop and sprint out passes....

  10. Now with Coach Boutte at the helm of PA Athletics, maybe look for Arthur Louis to be a front runner for this job. Coach Lou will bring discipline and a great offensive mind to Memorial. He would run a multiple offense, like he did at Ozen; he'd need to hire someone he could totally turn the defense over to. Just my thoughts..
  11. Why? because they've owned SE Texas??? West Brook couldn't beat them in '94? and then Mr. PA Jamal Charles and Company couldn't beat them either...You all want to know what has made them successful? It's called consistency. Off Season is probably one of the toughest in the state of Texas, Same offense for the last 25+ years, same defensive coordinator (now the current HC) for the last 25+ years. The kids learn the system in JH and they know that by the time they get to HS it's not going to change. They've had different OC's in the past 25+ years, but it's up to the OC to learn the offense, not the kids responsibility to learn the new OC's new offense
  12. Good old "30 Draw" They've been running the same offense, with a few tweaks obviously, for the last 25+ years; That play has been a bread and butter play in 2nd or 3rd and very long for a long time, even when you see it on film and know they may run it, your never ready for it...
  13. My wife may never let me have the remote again.....This is great, Baseball 365 days a year...
  14. I think HF has 6 and I believe OF has 7 [Hidden Content]
  15. Word on the street is that both of these schools will be competing in the Orangefield tournament this year. Haven't seen a bracket yet, but maybe we can see a match-up in this tournament.
  16. You know you're not going to cover a game....you're just coming to eat, cause see you're the boss now and you can do what you want....it's almost time for YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Asa played as a freshman, don't know if he's played since; but wasn't bad...
  18. Early predictions for this district?? It's going to be wild....Here's my take on the situation, in no particular order.... BC-Hicks is back and he's the most dominant pitcher in the district, after that they will be young on the hill; but Coach Landry will make an already talented baseball team that much better, until someone knocks them off they are the team to beat. HF-Lot's of returners, with experience on the mound...their X factor is now coaching in BC, so we'll see how this group of kids responds to the new coach; will challenge for one of the three playoff spots. OF-May have the most returners in the district (don't know exact #'s), finally will be playing with one of the older and more experienced teams in the district rather than the youngest, may have the best catcher in the district and a top 3 pitcher, Coach Bennett is scrappy and he will have his team ready to play; they will challenge for one of the three playoff spots. WOS-Will be much improved over the last few years. They are getting back to WOS baseball; Coach Rojas will have his group ready to play each night and they will upset the apple cart in some games, if they do it enough they will challenge for a playoff spot. HJ-Lost their top 3 pitchers and a bunch of offense, however the cupboard will not be bare and Coach Kirkland will have his team ready to play. They have made the playoffs the last 2 years and look to continue that streak. Silsbee-Like HJ, lost their top 2 pitchers; their X factor could be Skinner who when he's on, is good. Coach Trawhon graduated a bunch of kids last year, but he will have a young team that will take on his mentallity and they will scrap for everything they get. They have missed the playoffs by 1 game the last 2 years, and they would like to have a change of luck and the young kids will try to do just that. Bottom Line is it's a 10 game district schedule and anything can happen. 5 teams will compete for 2 playoff spots...So, in the words of a famous and controversial WR for the Cowboys...."GET YOUR POPCORN READY"...It's time for some baseball
  19. Gotta go with bear fan....
  20. WO-S 4-0 HF 3-1 Silsbee 2-2 Orangefield 2-2 Bridge City 2-2 HJ 0-4 This Week OF/WOS BC/HF HJ/Silsbee
  21. Just got through watching the ceremony on tv, wow!!!!!!! This man is everything that encompasses how the game of baseball should be played and how a professional athlete should live his life off the field. In the days of steroids and performance enhancing drugs, he did it the right way. I grew up in Houston watching him in his early days, never knowing that my son would be watching him at the end of his career. I have always been and will always be an Astros fan.
  22. Thought it had been offered to Green? Is he still thinking about the decision?
  23. He has not made a decision 1 way or the other. Many things to consider, other than baseball, and it's not an easy decision. The man has built a program basically from the ground up and while the cupboard is not bare in Pirate land, it's not as full as in recent years; however, give it another 2 years and they'll be back. BC will compete, if not win the district championship, year in and year out and has a chance each year to get to Austin. Again, that's just the "baseball" stuff that he has to consider, much less the other things that go along with it (parents, administration, teaching load, will he get baseball kids on game days, etc.) The fear of the unknown often causes a lot of hesitation in anyones decision making. This is the man that BC wants, please respect him enough and let him make the decision that is in HIS best interest.
