Youre a good man...the rules had been established long before last week, each head coach in the district knows the rule, it's just a certain AD that seems he has to have his hand in everything, stay out of it and go back to your dry erase board.

The game is official after 4 1/2 if the home team is leading. From what I was told the rule was misinterpreted last week and this game is most likely finished. Okay, so by that token the Silsbee/OF game should have been called and Silsbee should have won. Wouldn't that mean that OF should be having a play-in game with someone this upcoming week? I can see if the rule was misinterpreted, however, in the spirit of fairness it should be handled the way it was originally interpreted to preserve the integrity of the district race. I truly believe this one of those examples where adults try to insert themselves into a situation that has nothing to do with them when the only thing the kids want to do is play ball. The Silsbee/OF game was suspended in the middle of an atbat, therefore an inning was or had not been complete...If that's the case, you revert back to the last completed inning, in which case OF was up 2-1; or you suspend the game and resume, which is what the district rules say, in which OF won 7-6; Any way you slice it, OF wins they are 6-4 and are in the playoffs...

From the District 21-3A baseball manual..."Section 5, Rule J. In the event of a suspended (game that has gone past 4 1/2 or 5 innings) or incomplete (less than 4 1/2 or 5 innings) game, the game will resume at the point the suspension occurred." Not muich room for misinterpretation as far as I'm concerned...

Talked to Coach Sadler, Liberty, today and he said that they would finish the Shepard game only if it makes a difference in the standings...Liberty and Tarkington play Monday with 2nd place on the line and Liberty won the first meeting...Tarkington still has to play Huffman...If Liberty wins on Monday, then all else does not matter...

Yep it sure did..along with Deramus, Angelle, Peevey, Q. Evans, Fontenot, Watson, D. Evans, Whitson and James. 28 hit it right on the head, it took the entire TEAM to beat a good opponent; and it's going to take the entire TEAM to continue to win and make a push for the playoffs. That's the beauty of this group of kids, it doesn't matter who gets the credit as long as a W goes on the board.

This bracket has been tweaked a little bit. Change Lumberton and Central in the bracket and change the games at Deweyville Thursday to 4 and 6:15.

It was Brock Whitson. He's a junior. Just had a bad day, if you play this game long enough you have those every once in a while.

What year did you come out? I graduated in 89 and my brother was 93 So you were in the program when KT was on their way up. I respect them. They have such a great program over there, and I'm very envious of that....but I gotta tell ya, I'm sick of seeing them winning all the time! I would love to see somebody else do it. Coach Joseph has done a great job of maintaining and improving on an already great program. KUDOS! Yes, we moved there before I was in the 8th grade, that year they were 1-9, then 4-6 my freshman year and 10-1 my sophomore year. That was '86..haven't had a losing season since and their worst season since then was '87 when we were 5-5, then were 9-2 in '88 (my sr. yr)and have made the playoffs every year since.

Coach Louis is not going anywhere....especially to PA. He tried the HC thing once, and it didn't work out so well. He's said he's happy at WB, and has no desire to go anywhere else. Good things to come from the Brook in a few years. You're probably right 82, I just threw that out there because of their relationship going back to the opening of Ozen...

Gotta agree with you admin...They will spread it out on long situations, it's amazing to see how this offense has evolved over the last 20+ years...All the basics are still there though-power, toss, lead, 3 step drop and sprint out passes....

Now with Coach Boutte at the helm of PA Athletics, maybe look for Arthur Louis to be a front runner for this job. Coach Lou will bring discipline and a great offensive mind to Memorial. He would run a multiple offense, like he did at Ozen; he'd need to hire someone he could totally turn the defense over to. Just my thoughts..

Why? because they've owned SE Texas??? West Brook couldn't beat them in '94? and then Mr. PA Jamal Charles and Company couldn't beat them either...You all want to know what has made them successful? It's called consistency. Off Season is probably one of the toughest in the state of Texas, Same offense for the last 25+ years, same defensive coordinator (now the current HC) for the last 25+ years. The kids learn the system in JH and they know that by the time they get to HS it's not going to change. They've had different OC's in the past 25+ years, but it's up to the OC to learn the offense, not the kids responsibility to learn the new OC's new offense

Good old "30 Draw" They've been running the same offense, with a few tweaks obviously, for the last 25+ years; That play has been a bread and butter play in 2nd or 3rd and very long for a long time, even when you see it on film and know they may run it, your never ready for it...

Word on the street is that both of these schools will be competing in the Orangefield tournament this year. Haven't seen a bracket yet, but maybe we can see a match-up in this tournament.
