  1. Is it for sure that PNG/LCM will play at Vidor on Saturday at 4:00?  I had heard they would play in Bridge City at 3:00.....
  2. If the offensive play calling was that bad, who is the offensive coordinator for Anahuac?  who was doing the play calling?
  3. AND ......when the second team offense was put in they scored as well, so there seems to be depth on the offensive line. All the boys played really well so it looks like Anahuac is for real guys. Great job Darrell keep doing what your doing, it's working!!!
  4. I thought the mental institution was in Rusk.. i guess my mother informed me wrong.. i'll let her know that it's in Anauhac?? I guess your mother was in the mental institution then and couldn't remember what she told you and crazy must run in your family since you can't seem to remember what she said. Much respect to the community of Rusk and the people that work at the Hospital because the people confined there are humans just like the rest of us so maybe you shouldn't give low blows you may end up there one day. Look this is about the kids and believe it or not kids read this every day. Just let them play the game and leave all the name calling and trash talkin on the field where it will be battled out. If Kirbyville wins then they are the better team if Anahuac wins, likewise. How immature can you get?
  5. Hardin vs. Houston Yes Monday night at 7:00 at Goose Creek Memorial High School in Baytown. Port Neches vs. Kingwood Park Tuesday night at 7:00 at Goose Creek Memorial High School in Baytown.
  6. This should be a good match. PNG should win if they play together and keep their heads in the game. They play Tuesday at 7:00 at Goose Creek Memorial High School.
  7. Let it go, there are lots of good coaches that have come through Daisetta and left due to upper administration. Good luck with what your left with, coaches can't coach when parents try to run the show. When do you think some of these parents will go get a degree and try it themselves? They won't they will keep coaching little dribbler's and claim to be a coach. Just be thankful that somebody wants to try and coach the kids and be a positive role model for them.
  8. Who is going to be the top three teams this year? Seems to be an even talent spread so far among quite a few of the teams from last season. Anxious to see who is going to squeeze in.
  9. Man nobody complained when she took them to the playoffs, funny how everyone jumps on the bandwagon and then bails to talk trash. Heard she just wanted to do track and was tired of basketball, don't blame her there. The parents do nothing but gripe about girl's basketball and they did it when babineaux was there. They don't do that to Cox in volleyball though. Give it a rest, she's done a good job with the talent she had.
  10. Congratulations to Darrell Barbay on his new position as Athletic Director at Anahuac ISD. Looking for great things to come for Anahuac!!
  11. Regardless whoever gets the job or even an interview has to apply through the supt. even the coaches positions that are open. Ever heard of such, no campus principals involved send your resume directly to the supt do not pass go. She needs to get her hands out of the hiring process and let the campus principals do their job. She needs to go, heard she had been looking. Maybe someone should send her a list of the openings for supt's in the state so she can apply. Still think Barbay would be the best fit, that is if they let him do his job. As for the girls coaching staff, Donna Cox has been at HD forever and I do believe that when Anahuac was in their district she and Misti Smith (hometown Anahuac girl) won the district the first year and placed 2nd the next year, with Anahuac nowhere in the running for playoffs. Even went on to win Area. Joy Melancon is there and has been to the state meet in track as well as the basketball playoffs. They do well on the girls side too. Cox would bring discipline to that program and so would Smith, not sure where she is now. Heard she lives in the area and her kids go to school there but would never coach there because of the politics as well as the supt.
  12. Not sure Joubert would be a good fit at Anahuac, nothing personal but actually seems too nice. If you think the parents and community are tough at Kountze, cross the Hardin and Liberty County lines and step into Chambers County. Not sure what to call the parents and community in Anahuac, but it is beyond tough almost brutal. Problem is they are tough on the wrong people. They tend to want to coach instead of watch from the stands and be parents but who can blame them. The coaches and administration that have gone through there have left that community completely untrusting. Amen to DickVitale, get someone in there and get those kids off the street. Those kids are walking the streets in Anahuac and Wallisville too!
  13. Not his agent in any way, just been around long enough to know that he has what it takes mentally to turn that place around. Racially divided is not longer an issue in HD though. All kids get a fair shot up there and the success he has shown is obvious. The parent of the kids in Anahuac are the parents that had success in Anahuac as athlets under Walker and I know of one board member in particular that played football back in the hay days when Kedrick Williams and that bunch went pretty far. They want somebody there and these parents, black, white, red, purple, or green, just want a coach in there to bring some discipline and honor back to that program. If enough parents would back him they would be surprised. Another board member, female played on the first volleyball team that went to bi-district in years if not ever, she would love to see this program turn around for everyone. As for the supt, she needs to leave, that is Anahuac's biggest problem. When Barrett was there a lot of people started losing respect for administration. There has not been a supt worth having there since Gene Best left sure wish he would come out of retirement. Somebody needs to step up and save these kids there is a huge amount of talent coming up in the Freshmen class and could have a lot of potential by the time they are Seniors. When your best athletes are walking the streets you have problem.
  14. I would like to see Darrell Barbay get it myself. Talk about a great guy would love to see the kids in Anahuac finally get a quality coach that would stay and build a program not just one that would get him a better job. Don't think he would leave and has the personality and credentials to take Anahuac as far as the kids wanted to go. Can't say enough great things about the man. The HD community would be sad to see him go, but the kids in Anahuac deserve somebody that truly wants to be there. This man can turn kids around and motivate them, Anahuac needs this. The athletes are there but there is nobody to motivate them. Haven't seen a quality coach come through there since Walker in the early 90's. With the background Barbay has and the coaching legend he was born into what more could Anahuac want. Parents and politics are Anahuac's worst nightmare. Let the teachers teach and the coaches coach and quit making it personal. He applied last year from what I heard but they didn't even conduct outside interviews. What a loss Anahuac could have been one year further along towards an outstanding program. What is even better, he is an all around athletic director and takes as much pride in the girls side as he does the boys. No need to bother with Title IX accusations when this man is in charge. Its tit for tat and the girls get just as much as the guys. He also hires quality coaches and the coaches that have worked for him respect him greatly. Wish they would give him a shot.
