WOS is going to win District and make a run! I don't know if CT would have beaten PNG and Newton this year. Who knows! WOS has lost regular season games before, not just this year. They are still a good team.

West Orange Stark wins this game! Maybe. If not, Silsbee will win. I guarantee it.

WOS looses to PNG and Newton, which has happened many of times with the prior coaching staff, and everyone thinks it is strictly on the new coaches. Cornell lost to both teams as well. WOS does not win every game of every season, so why act like it? Newton beats WOS regular as of lately, not just this year. WOS will be okay, and in my opinion, looked like a regular WOS team, other than the 4 consecutive state runs.

WOS can still win a district championship. The past is the past. In all, they have lost to two good teams. Loosing to good teams doesn’t mean you’re not good when it comes to WOS. It is getting them better and more hungry hopefully. Newton went 1-3 to start the season back in 14’ I think and then made it to the state championship. The outsiders thought Newton was bad, but they lost to good teams that made them better helped them play 16 games that year.

Woodville definitely can have their props. I’m proud of Woodville and hope they have a good season. However, I truly believe Newton would beat Woodville 9 out of 10 times. Woodville won that given night, but Newton did not play like Newton at all. I still give full credit though. Also, I do not believe Woodville would beat WOS by any means. That game woke Newton up big time. Woodville really needs to go deeper in the playoffs. That’s what matters. You definitely should be proud of your team.

Good game WOS. In the last 7 meetings during the past decade, Newton has beaten WOS 4 times. I don’t think any team in the last decade has a winning record against WOS other than Newton. That’s pretty impressive.

WOS very well could bounce back with a win tonight. I wouldn't be surprised by any means. However, I don't believe Newton is off this year. They have a pretty solid team and it will be very difficult for any 3A D2 team to beat them this season. Yes, they lost to Woodville by one point and that is why you think they're off. It happens, and Woodville is the best they've ever been. I still do not think Woodville is better, but they won that night, so I give them credit. But Newton is a lot better than last year's team. In my opinion, I think WOS wins tonight, but that doesn't mean Newton is bad. It is a good test for them and will only make them better.

I'm not a Newton resident. Also, I can think on my own and have my opinion. That is not weak thinking. I hope the Eagles win and I am confident it will make the Eagles better whether they win or lose. However, my personal opinion is that WOS will edge out the Eagles this Friday. That is not knocking the Eagles by any shape or form as I think Newton can win a state title this year with the team they have. I speak highly on the Eagles and believe they are pretty darn good this year.

He will not admit it, yet wants to make smart remarks instead and hide in denial. It is okay. No harm to me. The Bulldogs are a very touchy subject to him. It's just not the way I would expect a moderator to act on this site. All I did was state a fact, not an opinion nor a lie. There is a lot worse things mentioned and stated on this site by others, but it is not about the Bulldogs, therefore it is okay. I got caught. I apologize. Anyways, I hope West Orange Stark and Newton put on a show Friday.

I really do not know what is going on over there at WOS. But, if it were me, I don't believe I would have changed up many things that has worked so well for so long. That defense is killer when the personnel is there as whole. Then again, us as fans, need to give more time to new coaches and see if their changes pay off. Time will tell. Again, I do not know what all is taking place over there.

West Orange Stark will be just fine this year. Just because they lost to PNG does not mean they have significant problems. Heck, they lost to a good, larger program. You can't win them all and a lot of good may come from that loss. I see WOS edging out Newton this Friday, and making a deep run in the playoffs. For my Newton Eagles, win or loose, this game will help Newton become a stronger team. I believe Newton will play hard Friday and make it a game. The 3A-D2 teams will have a very difficult time in beating the Eagles this year.

Dirty_but_Dazzling, my post was not bad, unacceptable or vulgar for you to threaten me in canceling my membership/registration. Just because you are on the staff, which is pretty neat, does not give you the right to threaten me over a statement in which is not vulgar or threatening to anyone. I am active and civil on here, and I had no intentions to get you so riled up. Furthermore, my statement was not a "erroneous lie" as I could very easily provide proof from more than one instance, and I never stated that it was posted on SETXSPORTS. Well, I mainly made the remark being that I saw a lot of Jasper people saying Newton is in a little 3A "pop warner" league and that they were so good this year with the new coach and offense. It was a sour remark, I know. lol. However, I think they are realizing just because they are 4A doesn't mean they are better than top 3A teams.

I agree, Newton is not PNG. Newton has 260 kids in the entire high school, while PNG probably has more that 260 kids in each grade. The sad thing is, Newton could hang with PNG, if not beat them some years. In the past, Newton has beaten WOS in some of the years WOS beats PNG. I do believe PNG beats Newton if they were to play this year, and I do not want to get into this argument, but don't think PNG is a lot better than newton, as though they should be. For WOS and Newton... this will be a good game. Newton played great against Jasper. However, Jasper had zero offense, no game plan, and looked like backyard football. So, I can't really judge anything off that game. WOS will be a lot better on offense than what Jasper showed.

As a Newton fan, but a realest, I think Jasper will take this game. With that being said, Newton will get better from this game and so will Jasper. Newton needs to step up on their offence and become more balanced in today's game. They do not have D-1 athletes all over the field anymore and can't just run the ball over and over and then pass deep down the field on long 3rd and 4th downs. I'd personally like to see short passes mixed up on early downs to keep defenses spread out a little more, which opens up our run game. I mean, you can pound it every play, but it only works against the low level teams. I think Newton will do just fine in 3A-D2 this season. I think Newton can play with any team in 3A-D2 and will have a great year, but will come up short against the bigger school this year. Good luck to both teams this week.

From an outsider watching both teams play for the first time (even though it was only for less than a quarter), LCM is head and shoulders ahead of HJ. HJ had two good defensive stands with LCM in the redzone, but I believe LCM did that to themselves. I can honesty see LCM running away with it about 35-0. LCM is a quality team, but not a complete team in my opinion. HJ, on the otherhand, is not very good. They lack athletes and size for the 4A level.

Exactly. Heck, the guy barely lost a game in a 4-year span and called plays in 4 state title games. I don't think he's too shabby at what he does. I am with you WO-S#1, it is personnel. Yes, WOS has good players, but it does not match up as an overall team as the teams WOS fielded in the past. Anyone should be able see that.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying here. It's not that BC does not have athletes, they just need to get everyone to buy in at a younger age and get everyone playing. I understand baseball is in several of the players future at the next level, but playing football does not disable that dream of theirs (unless there is some freak accident). Most select / travel ball is played in the summer and playing football should be a good "time away" from baseball until school ball approaches. Hopefully this new coach will get everyone on board and BC can finally get to the point where all the good baseball players play football.

Do many of the top baseball players at BC not play football? With the new offence, it will take time to adjust and will require all athletes to participate. BC can always take a stud baseball player and develop him as a good QB. Though, these kids need several years in this system leading up to varsity play to be efficient in this type of offence. The typical run, run, run offence normally does not require a lot of skill and thinking; just line up, put your best runner(s) at RB and everyone go forward. Little more to it, but you get what I'm trying to say. I think if this coach stays around, then yall will see big strides in the near future. I hated watching yalls old offense. Hell, I hate watching my team, Newton, offense as well. Too many good athletes not being used and teams can focus on just a one or two.

Newton has 3 wins in the last 5 meetings with WOS. This will be the 6th game between the two teams in the past 8 years. WOS has a chance to tie the series. Newton has a chance to own WOS with a win though.

Game day. I expect Newton to play hard, get better as a team and give WOS a good game.
