I just hope Silsbee can beat a really small school that will be lacking key players. If not, then it may be an upsetting season that was looking so promising.

I didn't say that Silsbee will get 3rd in District. That was the guy from Lumberton. I've stated nothing but good things about Silsbee and i do think they will get 1st or 2nd in District with Navasota being the other.

Well, from what i have observed, Silsbee is very quiet due to not performing like everyone from Silsbee thought they were going to do. There was a lot of bark on here once they got two transfers like they were going to run through all their scrimmages and games. Well, that hasn't been the case, therefore they have been very quiet. They have come to realization and now know that they are not as great as what they have on paper. Lumberton and PNG have burst their bubble. This isn't trash talk, i am only stating the facts.

Newton will have a few in action tomorrow. Roney Elam - Texas A&m vs. UCLA DJ Dean - Arkansas Vs. La Tech - Injured and will not be playing tomorrow. Calum & Gabe Foster - McNeese Vs. Tarleton St. Tanner Holmes - University of Louisiana Vs. Boise St. - Injured and will not be playing tomorrow.

I'm not exactly sure. I've heard that Kirkland Foster tore his ACL, but he will be bracing up and playing through it at times. It sucks because he is Newton's best safety and WR. Then, i've heard that Newton has two running backs that are questionable. The coach does not know if he is going to let any of the three play or not for this game. Not having three key guys will hurt, but that just means "the next man up".

I hear Newton may have a few key players out this game due to injuries. If so, Silsbee may give Newton a run for their money. I really don't know how to predict this game because you never know how either team will show up. Hell, we could see a new Silsbee team show up this week. They're very capable of it. Who knows though? But, i'm still going with the nasty Newton Eagles with a 34-21 score being that everyone is playing.

Yes, all three of the sophomores that you named will all have D1 offers rolling in after this season. Number 8 will probably have them coming in this season just off of his freshman showing last year. But, if there is one team that is going to score over 21 points on Newton this season, then it will be Silsbee. Do i think Silsbee will reach that number this Friday? Yes, i do think they will, but Newton will definitely score a significant amount more than 21 points. Silsbee's offence can and will strike at times. With all being said, i predict Newton to win by two scores. 34 - 21

Newton's defensive line will have Silsbee's QB rattled for the most part. I know the kid is good and very athletic, but it is also hard to do well when there is pressure on you at all times. He will have to get rid of the ball quickly to have a good night. Newton's defensive line will be stronger and faster than PNG's while running stunts the entire game. That will give the young and inexperienced Silsbee offensive line a long night. I am definitely ready to see the Barns kid match up to Newton's promising young sophomore. They are built very alike and i hope to see some one on one match ups between the two. Both kids will have great Division 1 careers. I do think silsbee is a lot better than what they are getting credit for and will be a legit team as soon as everything comes together. A new coach, new QB and a whole new offensive line does not come together over night. Now, i do predict Newton to win this game, but that is because newton is already established and playing good ball while Silsbee is still trying to find their identity. I really hope number 11 (Kirkland Foster) can play this week. That is a huge piece of the puzzle for Newton's young secondary.

Kirbyville fans are pumped up and excited as they should be. Heck, it's football season!! I just hope their fans stay the entire game and not leave in the third quarter. I'm going to stay in for this one guys. I don't want to hear the loud sirens and horns going off all the time. That's just too loud for me. I'm being generous on my prediction below just because i know that W.T. wont run the score up. Newton 43 - Kirbyville - 14

Kirbyville will have a very hard time scoring Friday. I hope that they at least find the end-zone once. Good field position from a very poorly executed kicking team should help them get there.

Newton by 3 touchdowns or more. Kirbyville won't be able to do too much against Newton's defense this year. The defensive line is going to cause a lot of disruption. Newton was very low in numbers in key positions last season, but that is not the case this year. Being said, i do not see this game being too close and that is not a knock on Kirbyville by any means. I wish success for both teams.

This is a great first scrimmage for both of these teams. Both teams will leave tonight better than what they were. One day at a time, Eagles.
