I don't know how, but I have a hunch freshmanphenom is Josh Clark.

Josh Clark is a great player!  He leads the Buna team in hitting right now hitting well over .600.  He has started at ss, 3b, and CF for the Cougars.  He is the real deal.

Any score on Jasper/Diboll?

The Final was actually 15 to 1.  Brandon Hillin got the win on the mound.  He also hit well going 2 for 2 with 2 walks and an rbi and 3 runs scored.

Didn't Warren go a couple of rounds deep just 2 short years ago?

10 1/2 inning affair!  Boy it was cold!  Both teams played well.  Only 2 errors in the contest from both teams combined.  Hitting was not real impressive for Buna.  Alot of young kids playing for both teams due to Basketball.  3 run bomb in the first for the Jones kid of Kirbyville ended up being the difference.  Matlage, Sheppard, and Muckelroy pitched 3 innings a piece and Coleman threw 1 inning for the Cougars.

I'd like to see this all-star team take on the Lamar Cardinals.  I think they would give them a run for their money!

We practiced on the field Tuesday in Buna, but had to go inside Wednesday and today, but should be back outside tomorrow!  Field drains unbelievably well.  Crushed Lava Rock on infield dirt really makes a huge difference.

Just a question here. How many consecutive district championships has Bridge City won? Hasn't it been quite a few? And correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have lost a district game since dropping to 3A? Not trying to be sarcastic, just wondering. They always reload when it comes to baseball.

Not sure on the district championships, but I do know that the first year they dropped down, Buna, behind Chase Tucker, beat Bridge City with Dereck Blackshear on the hill.  7-2 was the final and it was a great game.

The Woodlands is a great place to play!  It would have to be tops on my list!

Does anybody know where I can find the write up on the game? I was there and left with under 4 minutes to go in the game and it was 26-0. How were the 3 TD's scored in the last 4 minutes? Andy is a class act and a great guy. He deserves everything he gets.

Buna had 4 Freshmen on Varsity last year and all 4 will start this year. Brandon Hillin (ss,p) was the only one that actually started last year.

The others are Ryan Sheppard, Kolten Brewster, and Blanton Craft.

Buna will be the home team in this matchup. How are the field conditions right now down in BC? An outsider told me the field was not in too good of shape! Just wondering.

Any kid who rushes for 2000 yards on the varsity level is a great running back. I do not care who you play! Williams is a tough kid with good speed and size. For you to say other wise is ludicrus! (no i am not an english teacher)

Buna's Ryan Sheppard is the real deal. He plays SS on defense, back up H-back on offense, returns punts and kicks. Avg. 37 yds /on kicks, avg. 19/return on punts(2 for TD's). Has 2 picks on D.

Just wanted to say that Deweyville is a class act and should be proud of their players and coaches. Their fans are great too! Usually when I head to the press box at other schools, fans and students talk trash to me as I head up or come down after the game. Not Deweyville! Several fans stopped me as I headed down last Friday Night and congratulated me and wished the Cougars luck! That is true class. Good Luck to the Pirates in the playoffs. I hope we both get in.

We lost 4 starters from last years team. We will fill those 4 spots with 3 soph. and a freshman who played JV ball last year.

Buna's field is in great shape for the Cougars game with EC tonight. Be careful on your way up from Winnie! Still alot of water on the road sides.

Buna's HS campus is under water. Field is fine, but 7th and 8th grade games here are cancelled because you can't get to the field. Our JV will not be travelling to EC either. This makes 4 weeks in a row our under levels have not played. 3 washes and a bye week.

Ryan Sheppard for Buna recorded 9 tackles, had 1 interception for a 61 yard TD, and returned a punt for 68 yards for a TD.

Congrats to Anahuac. The game was tight and had many ups and downs for both teams. I thought it was very entertaining. Good luck the rest of the way. Hopefully we both get in and do some damage in the playoffs. We have both had to play brutal schedules the last 2 years in 3A and have experienced some success as we moved down to 2A. Continue to play hard and hopefully we will do the same!
