  1. BC had a single in the 4th and a couple of balls hit on the button in the 4th and 6th that were outs. BC had runners on in 4 of 6 innings along with multiple extra base hits. The Huffman pitcher was just as advertised, very good. He found another gear during the middle of the game which was impressive. As far as Shugart goes, he "found the strike zone" enough to get 10 K's on a very good hitting team while allowing only 3 legitimate hits.

Sounds like you didn't like my post.... Just my opinion of what I saw...BC had one hit (a single) after the 2nd inning...The first 2 innings probably 8 or 9 balls "ripped"..... Shugart pitched a great game but he did have 5 walks, which is what I said "he had trouble finding strike zone on a couple of batters"

  3. I would say PNG had bad approaches at the plate tonight. Constantly swinging at the first pitch and getting in a hole. The pitch counts between the starters wasn't even close. In the 7th they were more selective and got on base. Great game by both teams. Kemp was getting ahead on swings and misses on breaking balls that would've been balls. Lots of foul balls on first pitches. Me and Lance from Vype were saying the same thing. Indians probably swung at the first pitch at least 70% of the time. As a pitcher you love that.

I  agree with this post . Just saying 80% of the close calls went in favor of Nederland. My opinion

  4. Just saying curve ball after curve ball its hard to be consistent as a batter. pitcher or umpire. Yet Kemp stayed ahead of Indian hitters with 0-1  or 0-2 counts on borederline pitches that can be called balls or strikes. In my opinion the ump gave

him alot of close pitches ... He did not do the same for Lekitch. He was behind every hitter 1-0,  2-0, 3-1 all night... I have umpired quite a few games and I know this is a thankless job but all "anyone" wants is consistency.....

  5. I'll go out on a limb and say we will have a 3 way tie for first (PN-G, Ned, Liv.) with vidor 4th

Nederland has easiest remaining schedule . PN-G has toughest.

3 teams 11-3   (Not sure how the tie breakers will possition the teams)

    Vidor 9-5

    Changed my mind... LOL

    PN-G  12-2

    Ned    10-4

    Liv      10-4

    Vidor   9 -5
