By definition, if one person receives a job because of their skin color, then another person is losing out because of their skin color. It was wrong when applicants were excluded because of race decades ago, and its wrong when it happens today… renaming racism as “affirmative action” or “DEI” doesn’t change the fact that it’s still just racism.

Trump agrees to debate Kamala Harris on Fox News

I predict a return of that clown version of Trump from the first debate in 2020. -
Trump agrees to debate Kamala Harris on Fox News
CardinalBacker replied to thetragichippy's topic in Political Forum
Yeah… he already agreed to debate Biden on abc 9/10. Now he’s “agreeing” to his own demand? Gotta go to Fox for some softballs and rules that favor him. Kamala doesn’t need to debate-she’s already spanking him in real time. “Madame President.” -
Newsflash… that why they call then PROGRESSives. Conservatives want to keep things as they were or move them backwards, as in “Make America Great Again.” If you go backwards 160 years, conservatives went to war to preserve slavery and those pesky liberals wanted it ended. One day a smart person wakes up and realizes that neither side is completely right and neither side has been completely wrong. It’s a constant battle between changing and keeping things the same… not good vs evil, etc. Sometimes moving backwards IS the right way. Reversing Roe v Wade, IMO. Sometimes moving forward is also the right way…. The ACA doing away with the pre-existing condition exclusions, for example. It’s also important to realize that our societies are cyclical in nature. They all do it…. Creation, change, and ultimately destruction. Speeding up “Progress” only hastens the destruction. My honest opinion? The brightest of us realize that it’s already too late and we’re all just going through the motions until the shooting starts.

Buy you shouldn’t ignore them, either. And definitely don’t seek out ones that just say what you want them to say. Reagan’s already been up for three hours trying to find polls that show Trump leading. That’s more important to him than finding ones that accurately predict voter sentiment in real time.

I saw Jordan Peterson (who I don’t believe to be racist) explain it unflinchingly. DEI policies (like affirmative action) produce a substandard result. If you look at a selection of candidates who can be arranged in order by quality, skills, work experience, etc… then ignore those rankings to choose a winner based on the color of their skin, genitalia, or who they prefer to sleep with… you’re ending up with, by any possible explanation, an inferior result. “Our diversity is our strength” was simply an opinion, and a faulty one from most unbiased observers. You won’t field the best NFL football team if the owner hands the general a list of positions/races and tells him to find these people to fill the spots. QB-mute RB- obese lesbian left tackle-Asian entire secondary-female Middle linebacker-female to male transgender The owner then tries to promote the team as the “best” because they’re “inclusive.” Best by what measure? Because it won’t be by wins/losses DEI policies are no different or more correct than saying “this place would be perfect if only white dudes worked here.”

You seem to forget that our opinions don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. We’re conservative-we can typically be counted on to vote as conservatives. The ones who aren’t sure-the moderates and undecided voters are who determine who will be the next President. Her record doesn’t matter. Trump’s record doesn’t matter. What matters is who those undecideds are going to vote for. And they don’t care about records, races, or any other technical factors. They won’t vote did someone they don’t like. I know you understand the principle, because you readily admit that the battle will be won in the swing states, by fewer than 40k votes in 2020. But you act like you don’t understand why undecideds votes are so much more valuable than dem votes in California.

2000- “Al gore is the most tree-hugging liberal candidate the Dems have ever had .” 2004- John Kerry is the most liberal, war-dodging candidate the Dems have ever had.” 2008- “That Muslim from Kenya is the most liberal candidate we’ve ever had.” 2012- “Barack HUSSEIN Obama has been the most liberal president we’ve ever had. We won’t survive four more years of this .” 2016-“Killary Clinton was the most liberal senator that’s ever been elected .” 2020- “Joe Biden is the most liberal Senator/former vp that’s ever tried to be our President” while Bernie Sanders sits in a folding lawn chair wearing a $46 suit and refusing to pay for a haircut. 2024-“Kamala Harris is the most….. blah, blah, blah….” You see my point, Chicken Little?
-
My points are these…. Anybody that cares realizes that Kamala was selected as VP in 2020 from a pool of minority women specifically because of this moment. To succeed Biden and become the first woman/person of color President. If that’s the kind of thing that bothers you, it’s already been bothering you. If that’s NOT the kind of thing that bothers you, Trump pointing it out DOES bother you-so what’s the point of focusing on that? The only thing worse than her being selected for checking off boxes is her being attacked because she checks off boxes, or at least that’s the way most people feel. I personally think the debate can be disastrous to either or both. People will accept her being goofy over him being hateful every day of the week. I don’t think he’s capable of being reserved when pushed, and I think she’s very capable of evoking some very nasty responses from him. The problem is this-his supporters think that the way he treats people is okay. But if you don’t already love Trump, it’s a huge turnoff. But he can’t stop it. Why would he go to a hostile group of reporters just to act like a bitter old racist? To make people feel sorry for him? No, to prove to his supporters that he’s ready to fight, fight, fight… and Americans are sick of it. Kamala would be stupid to go on Tucker’s show-and trump had the chance to be likable, but he was himself instead. Every move he’s making right now reeks of desperation. I think it’s the biggest joke of all when trump cries about women being “nasty,” when that’s his bread and butter- his one-two punch. That’s all he knows how to do, but then acts like he got poked in his (brown) eye when somebody else acts the way he does. We can do this nastiness and childishness for four more years, or it can all be over now-if you vote for her. It’s a no-brainer for people who aren’t infatuated with Trump. Comparing Trumps behavior to Hitler’s atrocities is just hyperbole and exaggeration… I thought you like those? Oh, only when Trump does it, LOLOL. I use the Hitler analogy a lot. Not to compare atrocities, but to compare their supporters. I’m confident that if Englebert lived in Germany in 1943, he’d be saying “no way! He’s not really going to put Jews in ovens! Herr Fuhrer means he’s going to build a fire under them, metaphorically speaking…. To make them stop being so lazy so they can stop stealing all our money. He’s Germany first!”
-
Do you really think questioning his opponent’s racial identity (or insulting it, if that’s what he’s trying to do) is okay? And can you possibly answer a simple question without falling into “whataboutisms” about people who aren’t even in the race?
-
Don Jr, maybe? 🤔
-
During a fight, if somebody lands a good lick, the recipient will shake his head and say “that didn’t hurt” and everybody knows it hurt like hell. It’s the same way with Englebert. Every time you point out something he can’t defend, he’ll deflect by saying “you’re pathetic” or “I’m just laughing at you instead of answering your question.” He’s just letting everybody know that we’re sticking him over and over and over again. Id say it’s pathetic, but that word has been a little overused lately. It’s like he doesn’t know what else to say, lol.
-
That’s the problem with people who refuse to see the truth because they have blinders on. Trump says something crappy about his opponent’s race, and anyone that calls out his use of racially abusive language, you accuse THEM of being race-baiters for calling out Trump’s statement questioning Kamala’s racial background. Luckily most American voters are smarter than you.
-
So what you’re saying is the Dems destroyed the economy just so he wouldn’t get re-elected? Well, one million Americans and millions more around the globe would argue that it was pretty real… except they’re all dead now. Besides… y’all spend all of your time saying how dumb Dems are, but Trump was unable to stop “their evil plan to ruin the economy.” He was so imcompetent that a bunch of stupid Dems outsmarted him with a made-up plague and he couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do anything to stop it from happening. But at least you finally admired that the economy got worse under Trumps administration. Thank you.
-
The only thing laughable is that you think the economy improved while Trump was in office. That’s a simple yes or no for you. Was the economy in better shape the day Trump took office, or the day HE LITERALLY SNUCK OUT OF DC WITH HIS TAIL BETWEEN HIS LEGS?!!!! I’ll never forget that coward. “Fight! Fight! Fight!” More like “Hide!!! Hide!!! Hide!!!l Lolololol!!!!
-
I started, but couldn’t finish it. He’s the same guy that got shelled in the first debate of 2020 by Biden. It’s obvious that he has no respect for women… especially women of color.
-
I don’t care what she claims to be, and my strong suspicion is that most reasonable Americans don’t care about her heritage, either. “So let’s focus on that….. bigly.” He’s just trying to remind the racists who/what he is….. one of them, and he appreciates their support.
-
If she picks Mark Kelly, AZ will go D for sure. I think the only question is whether or not a combination of Trump's influence, combined with a horrible performance in the House by the Rs these last two years will cause enough seats to swap and we lose the House and/or Senate, too. I doubt it, but I wouldn't be surprised.
-
I think he had some people convinced to reconsider their opposition to him after the first debate/Battle of Wounded Ear. But the Ds gave them a much more palatable alternative, then Trump goes all "Trump" on the trail and the reconsideration was over. They'll be voting for Harris. I also think that most RFK voters will consider Harris more likable and go that way, too. It's not that Harris is better than Biden (2020), but most people can't stand Trump and will vote for ANYBODY to make sure he never, ever gets elected. Most Presidents have a period after their term(s) end where their approval rating goes back up. Bush, Clinton, Dubya, even Obama saw significant increases in their approval numbers after leaving office. Trump just can't stop being a bitter old windbag.
-
They dang sure weren't wrong in 2020!!!! And for what it's worth, the polls weren't wrong in 2016.... People just didn't bother to go out and vote for Hillary because the media made it seem as if the race was in the bag for her. Here's the other thing that no one realizes. Trump's numbers were up in 2020, not because so many people fell in love with him while he wrecked our economy and ballooned our debt, but because they liked him well enough in 2016, but didn't think he had a chance- so a lot of them didn't turn out to vote, just like Clinton's voters didn't turn out. But they DID turn out to vote in larger numbers in 2020, hence the singe digit million increase in Trump votes. Trump 2028!!!!!
-
Well, I do a fantastic job of making you respond to anything I post in the most unimaginative, boring way possible. "Dance, puppet! Dance!"
-
But people in 2016 didn't like Hillary, but they didn't necessarily hate Trump... and a lot thought he couldn't win, so they didn't turn out to vote in 2016. They didn't make the same mistake in 2020-Trump had generated an intense amount of dislike for himself, and voters didn't hesitate to turn out and vote for a weak ticket in Biden/Harris. Since then, nothing has changed except most Americans LOATHE Trump even more than they did in 2020. Combine that with the fact that every day hundreds (possibly thousands) of Trump voters die of old age and an equally large number of young people who see Trump for the bitter, angry, rich old white guy that he is turn 18 and register to vote. If Kamala just stays down, she wins in a landslide. She's going to announce a vp candidate any day now that will complement her- in other words, people who might have reservations about Harris or her ability to do the job will be put at ease by the qualities exhibited by her VP pick. Whereas Trump just selected a guy "because he's a pretty big jerk, too." The first debate was just an act.... Trump held it together the best that he could. The REAL Trump is back out on the campaign trail now, doing the only thing he knows how to do well.... alienate voters.
-
They won't comment..... other than to say it never happened, It's obviously AI, Trump just likes to use hyperbole and exaggeration, it's just lockerroom talk, or who's afraid of some mean tweets... But never once will they ask why, in 2024, is a presidential candidate of a major party is making his opponent's race the main point of his attack? Right when I think Trump can't do any worse, he does. You might fire up the racists, but the majority of decent, moral voters will disassociate themselves from you and your party. I can't blame him, though... he can't run on his own record, lol.
