I believe Shepherd came out of the Cleveland game fairly beat up. It was a physical game for the opener.
But, I don't know that either team will be able to win by 34.

This will be all I will say about this game. I think Newton should be the favorite and is probably the more talented team. But, with that said I believe that the Rogers defense will give Newton problems and this will be a little lower scoring than most believe. I will be the lone ranger on this one but I will call for:
Rogers - 24
Newton - 22

Should be an interesting match up if Fairfield is run heavy. I think Shepherd has the ability to pull the upset. The big question to me is how will they handle the playoff atmosphered.

Franklin does not play good enough defense to make a run at a title. In Region 3 it is Newton and then everyone else. Corrigan has a tremendous offense, Franklin a good offense, even Rogers is starting to put it together, but Newton right now is the class of the region.
Just my opinion.

I know this. The previous staff had a state championship pedigree and had made improvements in the sports that make football better. Powerlifting and track. Now, we can agree to disagree, but I will not be surprised if in a year from now, the Woodville "faithful" will be ready for another change in leadership.

I think after the Joaquin game we would all agree that Shelbyville is should be able to move the ball and score. The question is what will SA's offense do. If they can turn it into a shootout then I think they have a chance. Of course, turnovers and penalties will have an impact on the game as well and those are things as fans that we don't know when or where in the game it will happen or who it will impact.
Good luck and good health to both!

Newton...... More battle tested and better defense.

I agree with 3Falcons, it should be a good test for both teams.
I don't know that 28 points is enough to win this game for either team however.
