  1. When PNG is on offense I think the edge goes to Sparks. In our game Central had trouble staying with Perkins on the deep pass. We had one 50+ TD called back. When Central is on offense the edge goes to #12. Stop him and we may hear Cherokee, don't stop him and it will be Tracks of my tears.
  2. Two 14 pound babies born at SETX Medical Center with Nederland addresses the other day. Heard one of them chewed off his own umbilical chord and the other one slapped the Doctor back!
Look out 22-5A. Class of 2031. Dogs to State.

I heard that too, but I also heard that they had just recently moved into NISD from PAM.
  3. I don't know why they don't kick the ball a little harder on the pouch kick. They appear to direct the ball toward the middle row of the receiving team and the ball is normally returned to the 40 or 45 yard line. Why not kick it a little harder and if it goes out of bounds then they get it on the 35 that would be bettef than the 40 or 45.
  4. Heard through the grapevine (from a pretty reliable source) that Faircloth may not play starters too long in order to give them some rest before playoffs.. This is based on the assumption of Nederland winning out obviously... So take that for what it's worth, but based on that information from my source.. I say...

    Central 45
    PN-G 28

Only if he is looking for a free ride back to Odessa. It could be a little bumpy in the back of that pod.
  5. Remembering when we won state in 75'. Had a huge lead on Vidor (nearly winless) at the half. Coach sent in 2nd team and Vidor started scoring and gained momentum. First team was sent back in and we had a tough time stopping the momentum! We barely pulled it out! Not saying this could happen to Nederland but stranger things have happened. Lol

In every season there ia a pivital game that will define your season. Some teams rise to the occasion and some teams fold under the pressure. This group of dogs made that decision at the half against Central. The team leadership ask the coaches to step out. The team decided the streak would not end that night. That fire that was ignited that night hasn't burnt-out yet and i don't think it will any time soon. Many Central fans say they were out coached, maybe so but i think a lot should be put on team leadership that said not tonight we may be down but we're not out. That same group that pitched a shutout in the second half will be taking the field Friday night. If i was a gambler i would put my money on them.
  6. @ Badndn - You're absolutely right. The game may be beyond Suggs time. In regards to Receivers being wide open and the QB refusing to throw the ball is exactly what's happens, when your Head Coach decides not to have Summer 7 on 7. There is absolutely no timing or well ran routes as a result of that decision.

It,has also affected our DB's from playing well. Last night several times they were in good position to make a play on the ball, but failed to do so. With the exception of the one pick by #23 Harrington

Really......Nederland doesn't do 7 on 7 and we appear to be OK.

  7. The reality is early on this team was searching for identity, then the Seniors started stepping up and leading. The coaches have been coaching more on the sidelines than I ever remember. No shouting among the players or the coaches during the early games, just encouragement. The result is these young dogs have responded and are getting better every game.
