Why does everybody assume that BC is trying to avoid Sweeny?  Does BC not even have a chance against them? I mean, if you look at their district they are the only team that's over .500 in total records this year.  I'm not saying that Sweeny isn't good but BC is also good.  I'm hoping for some good playoffs baseball.

It is not BC trying to avoid Sweeny.  The coach trying to avoid sweeny is named Mr. Anonymous.

Chester86, We all agree with you bud.

Seriously, As entertaining as this post has been...My heart does go out to all involved. This stinks for everyone...a team that is punished for something they had no control of, a Coach who may have unintentionally made an honest mistake, another Coach who could "possibly" be guilty of treachery, a third team who was "possibly" named District Champs without "earning" it, or maybe even an upper-classmen on a team that is catching flak for a parent that could've "possibly" done the unthinkable. It's run it's course and it will be what it is. No matter what color you wear, we're all the same...EVERY SINGLE kid in that district worked their tail off to be the best they could, EVERY underpaid Coach that put his/her heart and soul into their program, EVERY parent who sacrificed everything for their kiddo...please just take a second and realize what it's all about. We all want the very best for our own and we're proud. And this site is a great platform to brag and showcase all the great things mentioned above...I understand that there will be strong feelings about this topic...all the way around. I sincerely wish every single player, team, coach and parent involved, the very best. Y'all go and make our area proud in the playoffs...Please don't let this mess define your season.

This mess DOES define every team in the districts season.  The people that say (it does not matter who turned them in) are wrong.

If this was a coach (and it was) then the coach strategically placed BC in 3rd by the timing of the reporting.  As Grad posted earlier the UIL rules mandate that a reported infraction be reported in a timely manner.  As detailed of a report that was said to have been turned in, the reporter knew exactly when the infraction occurred which was 3 games prior to the reporting. (Interesting fact) and illegal to do so.

The Coach who blew the whistle has ( strategically) changed the entire makeup of the district.  And in turn changed the state playoffs.  It is a BIG DEAL.  it was illegal to report late and (a more egregious rule broken than a courtesy runner) This decision and timing had major impact on 4A Baseball in this State.  It was dirty. It was deliberate.

So it matters who turned it in as anonymous.  It is cowardly to turn it in as anonymous.  It is a reach to think BC self reported.  It is a reach to think a parent reported.

I know Griff and Landry very well and from what I know they have a great relationship.   I would very seriously doubt that Griff turned them in.  He would not have any clue that the kid had played too many games.  He is too busy worrying about his own team.  The only people who could know that this happened would be BC coaches or fans that have been to all of the games.  No one else has a clue how many games any kid has played on varsity and on JV.  I would put all of my money on someone in RED being the person who turned the violation in.  It could have even been Landry if he realized he made the mistake.

You re right!  Coach Landry sent it in under anonymous.  Wow.

What kind of offense can we expect? Bost obvioulsy won't be as versatile as Roschon, but are we still going to have a dual threat, or will we have something closer to the Doty years?

Bost is extremely fast.  Versatility will not be a problem.  Neither will accuracy.  Bost is taller, has a lot of arm strength and can run.  He may not be (Shug great) but he will definitely be Southeast Texas 5A football great.  Would be hard to find a better dual threat in this district next year.

I felt like we had the better PNG team last year but it made the difference playing on our field not playing in a mud pit! Amazing last year the field was so muddy when he didn’t rain at all! Glad to have played at the Rez!  The coaches have to utilize RJ more this year not having the receivers that we had last year! You have to do what you have to do to win! I was very surprised our defense actually stepped up to the plate and played well these past two games! I hope they continue to play like they have been playing!

How do explain RJ rushing for 50 less yards and scoring less points on turf.  Had a better game in the Mud.  The only difference in this game were the 2 turn overs in the 3rd qtr by the dawgs.  Turned into points for the Indians.  Nederland would have had to be perfect on Offense to outscore Shug and company.   PNG D won this game not the turf.

  6. Yummm.  I ll eat my crow.  good work silsbee.  Big fast boys out there.  I will say this though.  The game was tighter  than the final score. losing number 12 after 1 carry hurt Liberty.  He is the main rusher. And best secondary guy. Look up his stats. Kid is good.

  7. Nope.  Have to read the thread guys.  Toughest and best clock control offense, as compared to HJs Slot T.  None of the teams you mentioned are clock control.

Someone had mentioned the HJ win for silsbee before that post was made. HJ s SLOT T is a clock control offense.  Libertys double wing is a clock control offense.  Liberty loses to all teams mentioned in my opinion. Nederland, Newton, PNG etc. As would most southeast texas teams.  Reading comprehention guys.

Toughest clock control AND best clock control team. tough and best both belong to clock control.  Clock control belongs to Team.

Silsbee has played Newton, WOS, PNG, and Nederland

To say Liberty is the toughest team they have faced, may be the dumbest thing I have ever read on this site.

Re read it smarty pants.  Never said the toughest TEAM they have faced.

    Quote

This is the toughest and best clock control team Silsbee will face

If you do not understand the difference between a PNG and Liberty offense then I can understand why your incompetence makes my statement seem dumb.  (Clock and ball contol vs spread and scoring contest).  Come on man I'm sure you get the point.  Match up Problem.  BTW I'm Sure Liberty would play a 48-14 game against PNG just as Silsbee did.  Actually 14 points against PNG, arguably the worst 5A defense in town is rough for such a high powered Offense as Sisbees.

You said Liberty would win with ease.

Yea, then I recanted the with ease part.  No doubt Silsbee is a front runner and a favorite in the district.  They have play makers.  I also know what a mistake it will be for them to overlook Liberty.  Liberty is also a front runner and again, they are a bad match up for Silsbee.  I definitely do not mean to imply Silsbee is a pushover. However, I am the only one on this thread who says Silsbee will not blow them away buy 3 TD s.

Silsbee hs more speed than Liberty has seen all year

If Silsbee does not have the ball much, then the speed will not matter.  This is the toughest and best clock control team Silsbee will face all year.  They will have to create turnovers to win this game.  I think It will be a much closer game than you guys want.

Negative.  But I have watched both teams play this year and there is a large gap in talent and speed.

Tries to be cute and misspells GENUIS.

    That IS cute actually.

    Your post

"Reverse jinx, lol boy. Not a Silsbee fan since my days in Dayton.  Have kids in EC school district and really could care less who wins."

Now who said that. Tries to be cute but doesn't lie very well.

BTW smarty pants it s actually spelled (Genius) Genuis.  Notice your red squiggly line.

If  you think HF has any chance whatsoever, then you either:

    A) Played at HF yourself

I figured you would like the first blood comment. A little bit of smack talk reminds me of the days when HF was in our District. Anahuac did go toe-toe with HF till 4th. 14 points of HJ was scooped fumbles for TD. I will say that if EC does not clean up fumbles and dangles that carrot, HF will definitely want to spoil EC Homecoming. All in All I pray it's a good clean game with no injuries for either team and both teams know it's a sport of competition not Hate.

P.S. No way HF wins this game. (Just a little smack to make you laugh.) I'll be here Sat. either way it goes.

    Coming from a guy who

    A. Played at EC

    B. Has a kid currently playing for EC.

    Genious.

64-7? It was 29-22 at the start of the 4th Q. Adams went out with cramps and Kountze LB went out with a hamstring injury at the end of the 3rd. Adams had 198 yards and 2 TD in 3 quarters. I'm not one to argue, but let's be real here.

Kid is a great RB. Had a great game.  Cramps plagued both teams including 4 HF players. Let s not forget HF was without 2 linebackers who are both currently back.  EC 52-7. You re out of your mind.  I really hope EC is thinking they can play around with HF.  That will be a mistake.

Halftime  Hamshire Fannett 23  Kountze 14. Struggled?              Kountze RB Adams ran out of gas second half. Win by 21 points and now your going to take on the world. Sometimes you have to play the game to shut some people up. EC might have underestimated HF 1 year but HF has always over estimated themselves. Need I say more ? All I can say is you drew first blood.

First blood. Lol.  Kountze ran up and down the field on EC until Adams ran out of gas.  I m sure you were there.  14 of Kountze points came from H-F fumbles on long drives. HJ put up 24 on EC and you want to talk.  Wow.  H-F Kountze could of easily been a 64-7 game.  Just show back up to this post friday night please.

  15. Secondary will be fine against PN-G receiving core.    Can they keep Shug from breaking out of the pocket or stop any of his designed runs will be the question. More interested to see if PN-G Defense will hold up against Silsbee's speed.
