After trailing 19-4 at end of 1st Q, West Brook outscored United 48-24 the rest of the way.
Brad Ernst is for going to knock BU out of the top 10 for that. But he likely won’t modify Denton’s ranking and they lost to an unranked team tonight.

Not that anyone cares but Coach Green is a championship coach . He has always favored his guards. He was a guard so that kind of explains it . United will be fine up until Fort Bend Marshall then thatll be a battle
I have watched FB Marshall this year. They were actually better last year. BU shouldn't have a major hurdle with them

Pound for Pound WB has a better roster. Had Moton played the first game, WB would have likely swept BU this year. They are young and will still be a problem for Region 3 and also the entire state in Division 2. They just lost to the defending state champs who are an older, more experienced team. BU will be fine.

I’ll say this. This WB team plays superb defense. They are a step faster on defense than anyone on BU. They score in transition. They score off of missed baskets. And most important, they grab rebounds well and always seem to win the 50/50 balls. This team has it. Congrats on the district sweep and outright district title.
BU needs some serious work. The same gripe that I’ve had in that last meeting with WB, I have it now. You jump out to a huge lead and let it slip away, AGAIN. We’re stagnant in offense. We have too many unforced turnovers. Offense don’t flow and we have big men who we cannot get involved in these kind of games. I guess at this point, that’s just who we are. We go as far as Coleman and Jones take us. And we’ll just exclude the 6’8” and 6’7” bigs that we have.
Get back in the lab and get better for this playoff run.
Moore needs more touches. That should be a focal point for the playoffs. No team in the Region within division 2 has the size to contest him consistently. WB has two 6'8'' and one 6'9'' to at least bother & help double team him

Would love to see a BC/OF match up! OF played the BC JV team with a couple Varsity players early in the season when football was in the playoffs. Fully staffed would be a great game!
Wow I made a blind assumption and didn’t see the bobcats as #6 in the state. Yes correct, Battle of Orange County with BC and Orangefield. Does Orangefield participate in some type of foreign student exchange program? There was a 6’9” kid that was clearly of African descent on the team a short time ago. Not from the US

UIL rules have changed that doesn't allow some teams to play warm up games these days. Teams now have game limits and once they have reached those limits, you are not allowed to play any extra unless it's for district seeding or play in games.
Most teams these days play tournaments that are pool play which allows teams to play more tourney games. That adds up over the season. Also several play in multiple holiday jamborees which adds to their totals.
Really the only teams that can play warm up games these days are teams that have to wait till football is over to start their basketball season. Sometimes that's two to three weeks after everyone else has started. Usually that is only in the 3A and down classifications.
We still have some teams that will play warm up games this year. I have already received info on some of the games.
I will be posting a Seed/Play In/Warm Up Game Info thread on Wednesday morning.
Did the UIL modify the number of playable games since the 90s? I know we played a total of 35 games before the playoffs even started. Typically back then the 1 seed got a first round bye. Which was NS my years.

There used to be a day when playoff warm up games were hyped up and a thing. Can anyone remember some good ones from the 80s and 90s? I’m sure this doesn’t happen anymore with 4 teams and two separate divisions per district. But could you imagine this:
All games played at Montagne Center:
Game 1 - Bridge City v East Chambers
Game 2 - WB v Atascocita
Game 3 - BU v Katy Seven Lakes

Denton is ranked higher than Birdville unless you are talking about Birdville still being ranked higher than United.
Yes. Birdville most definitely. BU honestly has better wins and better record than Denton also. Also there is no way Lufkin, Summit, and Red Oak are better on any eye test, roster, schedule, and quality wins
-
Makes no sense. Someone is not doing their due diligence. It’s no way on gods green earth that you can say that,
Denton (26-3) Lufkin (26-4) Red Oak (25-5) Birdville (25-5) Mans Summit (26-6)
are better than BU (31-2) Brad Ernst and whomever needs to take this more serious. Birdville lost twice to Denton and still ranked higher? Stop it please

Must start at 7:30. Texan live has been playing non-stop commercials since 7pm

Used a full tank and gas physically and mentally in Beaumont on Tuesday. Which is why this likely happened

I think the Mansfield schools should be in that top 5.
Yes but head to head in San Antonio I doubt either of the Frisco schools or Mansfield schools can beat BU or WB. A young man named Tre Johnson and a freak finger injury to Dotson in a regional final game are the only two reasons why BU doesn’t have two more state championships.
-
Seems Mr. Ernst received my thoughts. Looking at Frisco Heritage and Mansfield Summit’s schedules and roster, I don’t think either could beat BU or WB. Josh Howard’s son won’t be enough by himself
-
Brad Ernst, if you read this message please make sure your colleagues know that the defending state champions are not the #9 or #10 team in the state. Let’s have those dfw-biased rankings modified please.
Also, if Moten had played in the YMBL game, it likely would’ve been a similar outcome.
Thanks,
A concerned Homer

Let’s go Rangers!

Moten is nice. Once his handle is solidified, it’s over 💡

Looks like an 8pm start on nfhs and Texan Live

Which is baffling because BH is headed to 6A next year. I assume their average daily attendance went up a few hundred from the last realignment

You are missing one key fact. His defensive presence. Just like him swatting EJs layup attempt easily.
