It wasn’t that burkeville put up a fight it was the fact that west hardin had several turnovers in the first half. If they would’ve been playing anyone else it might have played a factor into the game. However, defense was smacking em in the mouth. At one point I didn’t know if the mustangs would have enough left on the field to finish the game. Coach Taylor has those boys playing tuff on both sides of the ball. The team is looking forward to homecoming this week against Colmesneil.

It just makes it real tough to follow and support your school and then turn around and have to be at work on Saturday at 4AM. HD, WH, Sabine Pass, Evadale, Colmesneil and Burkville only makes sense to be in the same district. When it comes to volleyball, basketball and baseball the districts change. Maybe the football districts should be based off of total boy highschool students instead of total students. UIL should pull their head out of the sand and look at the overall picture instead of a number.

Reality is, HD and WH don't belong in this district. The numbers don't support either school being in this district. I don't know what in the world UIL was thinking when they moved these two schools into that district. Sometimes I just have to shake my head and ask why..... WH was 2 kids over on the numbers and HD was less than 30 over. Both schools belong in the small school district with Evadale, Colmesneil Sabine Pass, and Burkville. I can only imagine the financial strain it puts on the schools and communities to have to travel 2.5 hour just to play ball.

Looking at what happened last week at groveton, WH will run the spread offense, HD defense will look lost and WH will win big.

It could go either way. Recent car accident has a senior starter out for the season. Hope him the best in the recovery period. In WH defense against Evadale, several kids were sick with a virus and 2 starting LBs/RBs were out as well. if played again, I think it would have a different outcome. Colmesneil was down at least 2 key players if not more and still scored more points on HD than they did on anyone else. Did the second string come in and finish the game? Oh I forgot, you don't even have enough players to have a second string. WS by as many tds as they want.
