Too many pts given up in the 2nd half. However, Harrington was a beast and our freshman DB had another INT. I'll take the W.
-
To God be the glory. He has definitely gifted Rodney with a ton of talent and a will to work hard. If he keeps playing at a high level; I can see him voted Freshman of the Year in the SLC.
Hope Coach Woodard can land a few more Rodney Randle's over the next couple of years.

Bigcam2903, I'm sure glad he chose Lamar! By the time he is a senior there is no telling how good he will be. His potential has a very high ceiling with 4.31 speed already.
-
I'll go with the Cards in this matchup.

I had to opportunity to meet a few members of his family last week while caring for a relative. After reading the article one can tell this young man learned from men in his family the definition of character.

1. Chatman
2. Harris
3. Kamara
4. Wilridge
5. Hunter
There is no limit to how good Lamar would be if these guys all signed to play for Coach Price.

The made it to the quarter final? I thought they lost to Huffman.
They made it "to the Quartfinals".
Pretty clear statement to me.
Congratulations to Huffman for making it to the Semifinals. -
Congratulations BC on a great season and Huffman on winning this series.
-
Wow, that was a huge hit. Their first hit and earned run...
-
You just can't leave that many runners on base.
-
I didn't say they weren't. There is no need to add to anything I didn't state in my post.
LOL, out of everything I said you ask that? Geez. -
I think playing game 1 on Wednesday set up nicely for BC.
-
I would expect Shug to pitch at least 3 innings. Especially if Huffman winning a close game with the top of their order due in the fourth.
I personally think BC will win. There is just too much talent and intangibles. They know how to win and use to winning.
Langston's grandfather was the starting QB on BC's state championship team.
Rake son is probably one of the top 3/4 catcher's ever at BC.
I just can't see them losing today! -
Congratulation to the Cardinals. Great game!

I think select ball can be great depending on the coaching. It's very natural and easy to continue to hand the ball to your best pitching prospect but I've read numerous articles about protecting kids arms written from scouts and physicians.http://m.si.com/4130468/overuse-of-young-pitchers-fueling-mlbs-tommy-john-surgery-problem/
Part of the reason why I am not too big a fan of "select" or year around baseball.
Thx for sharing as it is important also to listen to your players. They know how their arm is feeling and shouldn't be pressured by any coach, period! -
Hey, that's your best post! I would love this to be my last post on this thread.

Lord, now a couple people who don't know anything about me are saying I'm bash a former coach? Wow, I have some very close and personal relationships with current and former coaches.Best post on the whole thread. It's much easier to bash a coach from behind a keyboard than it is to go have a face to face with him.Never planned on letting guys like you drag me into conversations like this. Congratulations!
If its really about different players why do coaches get reassigned, fired or hired? Simple question that I would love to an subjective answer.
I have no personal vendetta again the former coach at Silsbee. Why should I? He has not coached a immediate or extended family members. I only personally know a couple of kids he coached and one signed with a DI school?!?! -
For me, i'm just telling the facts to get an accurate account of just how far this team has come with Coach Nelson.
Sorry if its stepping on toes.
If WOS missed the playoffs 4 straight years and another coach brought them to the State Championship within 3 years no one would be saying a word about bashing a coach.
That's kind of funny. -
I should have put why did they not listen regarding the importance over a 7 year period. The former coach was there 7 years and a sport like baseball it's imperative the younger a player begins the better.
Believe me, I'm not discounting everything the parents and athletes have done to be to get here. I would expect a very high % of kids on the teams left in the playoffs to be involved in select baseball. -
So the parents are the reason? Wow, okay. But, why wouldn't the former coach push select ball? If he did, why didn't anyone listen over a four year period? Communication? Read the other forums for what kids do and families sacrifice for an athlete to be good in any sport. Silsbee is no different, nor is baseball.
Idk, but whatever the current coach is doing, it's working!
Like I put on a BC post. Great coaching + talent + hard work (select ball, strength training and ect. ) = success -

I believe this is a great pickup for LU. Sounds like a good kid as well as a great athlete.
