  1. I would expect Shug to pitch at least 3 innings. Especially if Huffman winning a close game with the top of their order due in the fourth.

I personally think BC will win. There is just too much talent and intangibles. They know how to win and use to winning.

Langston's grandfather was the starting QB on BC's state championship team.

Rake son is probably one of the top 3/4 catcher's ever at BC.

I just can't see them losing today!

Part of the reason why I am not too big a fan of "select" or year around baseball.

I think select ball can be great depending on the coaching. It's very natural and easy to continue to hand the ball to your best pitching prospect but I've read numerous articles about protecting kids arms written from scouts and physicians.

Thx for sharing as it is important also to listen to your players. They know how their arm is feeling and shouldn't be pressured by any coach, period!
  3. Best post on the whole thread. It's much easier to bash a coach from behind a keyboard than it is to go have a face to face with him.Never planned on letting guys like you drag me into conversations like this. Congratulations!

Lord, now a couple people who don't know anything about me are saying I'm bash a former coach? Wow, I have some very close and personal relationships with current and former coaches.

If its really about different players why do coaches get reassigned, fired or hired? Simple question that I would love to an subjective answer.

I have no personal vendetta again the former coach at Silsbee. Why should I? He has not coached a immediate or extended family members. I only personally know a couple of kids he coached and one signed with a DI school?!?!
  4. I should have put why did they not listen regarding the importance over a 7 year period. The former coach was there 7 years and a sport like baseball it's imperative the younger a player begins the better.

Believe me, I'm not discounting everything the parents and athletes have done to be to get here. I would expect a very high % of kids on the teams left in the playoffs to be involved in select baseball.
  5. So the parents are the reason? Wow, okay. But, why wouldn't the former coach push select ball? If he did, why didn't anyone listen over a four year period? Communication? Read the other forums for what kids do and families sacrifice for an athlete to be good in any sport. Silsbee is no different, nor is baseball.

Idk, but whatever the current coach is doing, it's working!

Like I put on a BC post. Great coaching + talent + hard work (select ball, strength training and ect. ) = success
