1. This has to be the top basketball story around these parts. Why isn't basketball like football and just call Ned and Ozen Co-District Champs and flip a coin for the seeding?
 2. Ags could make a push if they could close out. Texas is too wishy-washy right now. They have the talent, but the shots ain't been dropping 'till last game.
 3. Yep, my mistake. I was thinking of the UNC game.
 4.
Funny how you go straight to that over all record and completely bypass that 1-9 conference record. ;) Nebraska is terrible. 12 non conference wins against nobodys. But I will say that tu looked better, but Nebraska does that to folks. ;D
I didn't bypass anything, but let's look at the conference record. Kansas only beat them by 12 and 11, and the Ags beat them by 11. You gotta give props for the total thrashing by 40 points.. BTW, where did you get that W/L list? I know Kansas has a knot on their record....losing to Texas.
 5.
Big 12 Team Conf. W-L Tot. W-L Kansas       10-0       24-1 Kansas St.   7-3        20-4 Texas A&M   7-3       18-6 Texas         6-4        20-5 Baylor         6-4        19-5 Missouri       6-4        18-7 Oklahoma St.  5-5      17-7 Texas Tech    4-6      16-8 Oklahoma       4-6     13-11 Iowa St.        2-8     13-12 Colorado       2-8      11-13 Nebraska       1-9     13-12
AAW, don't you think that with Nebraska's overall record, which is not far behind Texas and the Ags, that a 40 point win is pretty significant?
 6.

the more top-notch teams you have to play in the tourney, the more likely you are to get beat.  I'd much rather Texas' first two games be against a 16 and a 9  than an 8 and a 1.
Thank you! Plus you don't want to wear down your players in the early rounds with tough OT games and you haven't made it to the Final 8
Making it to the Elite Eight is not bragging rights if you are set on winning it all. You beat the top teams first, then you coast through your bracket.

I figure that if we are going to win it all, we have to put a string of wins together. Whether we start out playing the easier teams or not, eventually we will have to play the better ones, so if we're going to do it, just do it. I don't care about just making the sweet sixteen. Does anyone think we have been losing from a coaching standpoint?....I mean the motivational stuff like a kick in the rear! You can't think that you are great, go out just go through the motions and expect to win. You have to be dedicated and focused. Hook 'Em
seeding does make a difference.I'd rather play a Lamar University than U-Conn in the 1st round.
Why?? If you're scared you can't whip Uconn in the 1st round, what makes you think you can do it later? Plus you wouldn't have made that Lamar statement back in the 80's. Whoever you play, you have to beat. This week, next week, it doesn't matter, you just have to win.
 8. Good post short, but I thought the shots were there, just not dropping. The team needs an attitude.

 10. 95 % of basketball games are won and lost at the foul line. Show me a team that shoots 75-80% Fts, and that will be a successful team......try Duke, or Larry Bird's Boston Celtics. You're right bullets, Texas needs to make their FTs.
 11. sorry speeechless, I was typing while you were posting.
 12. Number of turnovers is not as important as points off of them, so 10 could kill you if they score each time.
 13.
Big 12 standings: TEAM CONF. W-L OVERALL W-L Kansas           8-0   22-1 Kansas State   6-3   19-4 Texas A&M      6-3   17-6 Texas             5-3   19-4 Missouri          5-3   17-6 Baylor            4-4    17-5 Oklahoma        4-4   13-9 Oklahoma State 4-5  16-7 Texas Tech      3-5   15-7 Iowa State       2-6   13-10 Colorado          2-7   11-12 Nebraska         1-7   13-10 Aggies would love to have that overtime loss to tu back. Tough to lose to a team that never led in all of the regulation. Got to get payback in Reed Arena.
The way Texas has been playing, you probably will.
 14. Texas playing like crap. Throwing up 3s right and left when they should go inside. Pittman now on the bench in foul trouble.
 15. I heard Tiger didn't even attend the sex clinic. It was someone impersonating him, but that guy had to enroll there due to the huge number of women he had slept with who thought he was Tiger.  ;D
 16. Nederland splits with Ozen and Central and takes sole possession of second place. Way to go Bulldogs!!!
 17. I click on the link and get an error prompt.
 18.
yEP, but a Big East Conference school will tame the Horns when it matters during March Madness. ;D
Let me guess.....uh, Georgetown. Now how in the world did I know that?
 19. Now that's the way I like to see Texas play. First half was close, with Texas being down 11 but closing it to being down 4 at the break. Shutting down Anderson was huge, and then Hamilton took over. The only gripe I have is Pittman is missing shots close to the goal. If he gets on track, we have a great shot. This is for AAW.... Texas Wins!!!!!  ;D
 20.

True or not? Unfortunately it's a game I missed. You won't hear woulda, shoulda, coulda from me. Did UT miss any down the stretch too?
Nope.
Here's a little more than nope. Ags missed 10 FTs and Texas missed 12. Ags missed 1 FT in OT and Texas missed 3. I don't see where the misses puts you ahead.
 21. True or not? Unfortunately it's a game I missed. You won't hear woulda, shoulda, coulda from me. Did UT miss any down the stretch too?
 22.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. ::) But I do agree with you short. Keeping with this coulda woulda theme, tu shouldn't have defeated A&M.
AAW, you never try and discuss ways in which your team could better themselves? If so, you have to review the plays that were missed opportunities in order to correct them. Woulda, coulda, shoulda is something that outsiders interject on a thread, not about their team, in order to suggest whining. What has been discussed here is how FTs win or lose games, and how Texas has missed theirs down the stretch. Correcting these misses could well afford a few more victories, don't you think?
 23. If overrated describes a team that has enough talent to win it all, but keeps playing under their potential and losing to teams they should beat, then I agree that it describes Texas as of late. Most basketball games are won down the stretch where FTs win or lose games. Texas didn't come through. I don't blame Brown for the loss, but you tend to count on 90% FT shooters when they get fouled late. These are the players you want the ball in their hands so that they are the ones to go to the line. It just didn't happen. Texas is too talented to have been in that situation anyway. Big tournament still ahead..... Hook 'Em
 24. We still correspond with a host family from Virginia. They were great. My son went there to play in the World Series, but we came up short. Now that was the Senior Babe Ruth team. Good luck to your son. There is nothing quite like being a ''ballpark junkie''.  ;D

There were some players from Lumberton too, but I can't recall their names. The Shumaker kid that I left off his first name is Jeremy...
Good to know...I wasn't around 10 yrs ago.  I have a 14 yr old that is trying out for the freshman high school team today.  I'm hoping his experience playing on the bigger Babe Ruth field will help him in playing high school ball this year.
Actually, it was closer to eight years ago. It's hard to remember all the kids, but some names just stick with you. Babe Ruth Baseball is something the kids will always remember...the parents too.
