Tomorrow, we start my report on "what did you do during summer vacation" (even though it started in late Spring), otherwise known the SETXsports Team Previews.
Again, thanks to the coaches from around the area as they were vital in the preparation of these previews.
First out of the chute, the 2 time defending state champion West Orange-Stark Mustangs, the Alto Yellowjackets and the Iola Bulldogs.

Meanwhile back in Dayton, our boys are hard at it for their second day of summer workouts, volunteery of course. Gotta get there.

Not all of the Broncos on the 2017 Bronco team are kids who has never played on Friday nights. Our top two backs were on varsity last year and had some nice highlight reels, 2 of our top receivers our returning letterman, we have a few returning lineman, And our defense will have some returning letterman as well, and the rest, well let's just say, unleash the beast. I like our chances with every team in our district, this is the 2017 Broncos, we are looking ahead, not in the past. This team will make their own history. 

WOS should never have to leave the triangle to fill that schedule. Between PNG, Central, Westbrook, Nederland, Lumberton, Vidor, Jasper, and PAM, someone should be willing to play WOS yearly. If I was PNG, this game would always be on my schedule. Why is everyone so afraid of the competition?

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I hope you enjoy your day! 

Next week I hear we will be playing 7 on 7 in Dayton on Thursday at 5:30. The three other teams playing in this tourney will be Goose Creek Memorial, Liberty, and a Beaumont school. If your wanting to see some good action come on out and support your Broncos as they rebuild to start packing the stands like years past.  The Broncos have won 6 straight 7 on 7 matchups thus far, so come on out and see their progress as they work hard to get where they want to be and where they belong, on top of the district once again. As always Go Broncos!!!!!

Top of the district is one thing, y'all should be shooting a little higher than that though! Can't go the distance without a strong defense.

Just may be some head shakers this year, that's all. Definitely gonna be some good football. We need to stay healthy but if that happens, the Broncos will be tough. I've always liked a sea of purple bi-district game.

Well see, that's where we see things differently, the last two years we lost in overtime to y'all, I think this year we will beat y'all in 4 quarters. But I'm saving all that talk for later.

We gotta get there to show people  that we are not the mediocre team we were last year, but I think we are on that path to being a tough Bronco team again.

Just may be some head shakers this year, that's all. Definitely gonna be some good football. We need to stay healthy but if that happens, the Broncos will be tough. I've always liked a sea of purple bi-district game.

i been wanting to say that !!!!!!

As fun as it is to keep up with area sports and report their scores, it is a complete blast when a particular season ends with an area school winning the last game of the year.  So imagine my joy when I was able to do that five times (West Orange-Stark and Baytown Christian - football, Silsbee - boys basketball, Beaumont Legacy Christian - girls basketball, Port Neches-Groves - baseball).  And that was the team sports, you throw in the Port Arthur Memorial 4x100m and 4x200m track teams, Memorial's Kary Vincent's 200 m victory and Silsbee's Kalon Barnes golds in the 100m and 200 m, that is 10 times that a team or individual in Southeast Texas stepped up to take a gold medal in their event.
If that is not enough, you look at those teams that didn't get the gold but advanced to the state tournament such as Beaumont Kelly baseball and Dallardsville Big Sandy baseball (both finalists), Barbers Hill girls' basketball and Jasper girls' soccer.  Add to that the countless number of track and field participants in the various state meets......yeah it was a successful year in SETXsports lore!  It has not made our tasks here more exciting, but has given the whole area a lot more of a reason to look forward to the 2017-18 school year!
To the young men and women of the area high schools, whether they make it to the pros, play college ball, or if they never play another down, inning, quarter or race ever again, we thank you for the precious moments that you gave us over this entire year.  We will continue the watch your development and pray for your success. 
The the area coaches, we thank you for stepping up and taking part in developing our boys and girls into young men and women, sometimes in the face of folks who are the age of men and women, but act like boys and girls.
  And we are not quite done yet.  This weekend, the SETCA gave a number of area athletes a final farewell to high school sports in their softball, volleyball, girls and boys basketball, football.  And Jack Dallas will be a and Austin Hendrix will represent our area in the THSBCA All-Star Game next week.  That event will finally close this wonderful chapter in the world of high school sports in Southeast Texas.
But at SETXsports, there is no such thing as an off season as we prepare for what promises to be a stellar football season as many here view to be the subject of this topic come this time next year!  Our football team previews will commence on July 1st and it is only a matter of time before the district prediction threads will heat up!   So get on, and have fun!

My Indians won our first SC for our school since 1981 (volleyball) and first ever baseball SC. Hats off to our kids on a history-making season. NOW LETS BRING ON THE BOYS OF FALL

Well we needed some chemistry in Dayton and looks like we are building that chemistry. I like it, I think we are headed in the right direction.

That's exactly right man, I think it can't do anything but help especially with the fast offense. I heard we each had 3 or 4 Tds with Dayton getting the only 2 pt conversion. But like I said I couldn't make it so I was going by what my son told me, well either way, good deal. And we meet again on 9/8 if not sooner with 7 on 7, until then.

Fightfaith, only Dayton, Crosby and BH fans can heckle each other. If you're not from any of those schools get off of Bronco94. His kid is a good player and Dayton will be improved this year. Don't see them beating BH, but they'll be alot better then last year. Lol

I do think the Dayton Broncos will beat fightfaith's team this year. Probably will be a shutout ballgame, with the Broncos having 650 yards total offense, 400 passing 0 ints and 250 on the ground. Defense adds 6 ints and 9 sacks. Poor poor fightfaith didn't know just what to do. See fightfaith anyone can stoop to your level of sarcasm and stupidity. But this topic is titled 2017 Dayton Broncos. Later!!!!

Part of being a good parent and a good person is to support your kiddos with all activities no matter if it's sports or debate or honor society or Buisiness professionals of America, so you see I've had my kids go different routes and they were supported by me and my wife. And I too just had a son graduate from college and land a great job with a major gas company. So even though you seem to have hatred towards the Dayton Broncos and other towns other than your own mystery town, we doing ok too.
