  1. The only 20-4A team that does not advance....

    The Bucs go home.....

You 20-4A guy's might want to look out for Crosby and Kingwood Park. Either one of them could win their respective series. 19-4A was pretty solid this year. Good pitching and some excellent hitters from top to bottom.

We hear this every year about 20-4A, last couple of years, didn't pan out. I'll take BH in 2..... Unfortunate, that Hester is hurt. I hope he makes a complete recovery. Kid has a bright future.   I believe Crosby wins their opening round.

    Go Eagles !

Couldn't agree with you more.  I see the balance of power shifting a little bit to the west this year and in the near future.  I wouldn't be suprised if 19 took 3 of the 4 series.  King looks to be the most in trouble having Nederland, but other than that I see 19 rolling.

  2. 9 from lcm   2nd place

    6 from png   3rd place

3 from ned   district champs     doesn't seem right

I understand what you are saying, but it happens all the time.  Last year PNG had the MVP won the district and had just 2 first teamers (same as Central).  Being the district champion means you had the best team.  Doesn't always mean you had the best players at every position.  Probably you could have put Harrington last year on LCM, Nederland or Vidor and they would have all won the district.  Same thing could probably be said for Bellows this year.

  3. Hey guys, I know it is tough, but can someone try to give us a run down of the rest of the week.  ie games remaining, dates, times, tie break rules for your district, records, I don't think the most updated on this site is correct.

This was an earlier post and I believe is accurate:

Need an update on this District!! How many games are left for each of the top 4 teams? As of now who looks like will win the District?

BH    8-4 Has Dayton and NF left

KP    8-4 Has NF and GCM Left

Cros 7-5  Has NF and GP left

Day 6-5   Has BH, CEK and GP left

No idea who will win. Lets see who takes care of business

Yeah I saw this.  I was just wondering if anyone had the game dates and times yet.  Can Dayton for example play tonight or Thursday or will they have to play into next week?

  4. You can go to UIL's website to confirm the answer. But I believe they recomend head to head. In the event that it is split you play one game.  If it is more than one team then you play a single elimination touranment, draw for seedings.  However, your district could have written its own rules that would over rule those of the UIL.  You would have to check with your coach.  From the looks of things you guys could have a 6 team tournament.  That should be fun.

  5. It doesn't really matter who starts for nederland.  The fact is they have the best two pitchers in the district and they will both be ready to go on Monday.  Dean and Bellows have both dominated every time they have toed the rubber and I don't look for anything to change. Other than the extra innings heartbreaker versus PNG, Nederland has been the class of the district.  I look for them to go ahead and put a punctuation mark on it Monday night by winning somewhere around 9-1.

  6. winnning percentages

    Griffith-538 career games 73.6%

    Stone- 577 career games 70.0%

    Anderson- 690 career games  64.3%

Wow those are impressive.  Winning almost 3/4 of you games is quit an accomplishment.  I think many would like to see some records of some guys that are still making a name for themselves.  How about guys like Green, Landry, Mixson, Deberry, etc.  Come on home town fans help us out.

  7. MVP does not have to be the best player from the best team.

Not quite what I said.  I said district champion.  Because to me "value" is revealed in wins and losses.  To you it may be the guy that hit the most homers or for the highest average.  That is not what it is to me.  This debate goes on in every sport every year.  Is it the "Best Player Award" or the "Had The Best Year Award" to me is the "Most VALUABLE Player Award".  It all comes down to what you see as valuable.  I remember in 2006 (I think)a team that didn't make the playoffs had the district co-mvp.  Doesn't seem that valuable.  Bet they could haved missed the playoffs with out him.

  8. IMO you have to wait and see how the district finishes.  Should be the best player off the district champion again JMO.  Right now there are 3 teams tied so it is kind of tough to tell.  Maybe Spikes, Jalali, Benoit;  Bellow, Dean, Cardenas (sp);  Barry, Brown, Thompson. Who knows at this point, but if I had to guess I would go with Bellow or Spikes. (I think one of these two teams wins the district)

  9. Brenham @ # 3 in 4A.....they lose 1/2 of last year's team and don't skip a beat. The hands down favorite for 4A Region 3 champion. 14-1 record, with only loss against 5A state-ranked Round Rock Stoney Point.

Yes, they are good and always are.  However, the hands down favorite for reigion III would have to be the regional finalists from last year that both have basiclly their enitire team back.  Friendswood and LC.
